  1. What website is that?🤔 Yea, that makes sense, the IR-Webcam seems considerably larger than the other one… but all that can wait😅 I‘m just glad I‘ll have it up and running tomorrow, once the pads arrive! thank you all for the help so far!
  2. That is good news! The pads aren‘t necessarily damaged but they don’t cover all of the modules so I figured I’d just replace them all. Is the corresponding vbios for the 5000 to be found somewhere in this thread?
  3. It is… I‘m just glad that I‘m not stuck with a bricked laptop until I‘ve got everything together! I would’ve thought that the lids is the color/material… so I basically need a completely new upper half…🥲
  4. Yea, I calmed down a bit now… I was really pissed and stressed having to spend another 500 bucks on a new display… for now I‘ll just run it without display since I already ripped out the 30 pin display connector and don’t wanna waste the 40 pin one as well😂
  5. That is actually super helpful and reassuring… I just don’t see the difference for the heatsink… mine has the p/n 05VCW8 and they seem to look identical… I think I‘m gonna just renew the thermal pads as well as the paste on the CPU and see how the temps behave? I also have to read up on how to unlock the power draw, since the 3000 tops out at 75W even tho its rated for 90 I think…
  6. The powercable actually fits lengthwise, and the heatsink fits as well… do have a partnumber for the heatsink you‘re talking about?
  7. Oh wow! That was quick! Thank you for the reply. The Heatsinkholes do align, so I hopefully should be good there. I also wouldn’t what kind of different heatsink they would put in there, since thats pretty much all the room there is😅 regarding the display cable, I do see your point now… since the Display isn’t even directly connected to the GPU… I don’t know why someone would recommend that… can you tell me tho if I actually need to replace 3 connectors (picture below) or if they are universal?
  8. Hello, I know this is a long shot since the 7740 is „ancient“ at this point. I had/have the Quadro RTX 3000 installed and wanted to upgrade to the 5000. So I researched the parts number and found out that I also need the 40 Pin display cable. So I bought both and was happy to upgrade, only to finde out once I got to the back of the panel, that the port on the panel isn’t the right one for the 40 Pin connector… kinda obvious in hindsight but I feel pretty stupid rn, with the disassembled Laptop in front of me after the point of no return… me question now is: do I need ANYTHING else for the upgrade like a bigger heatsink? And a different power cable? I even asked the seller of the gpu if I needed anything else besides the display cable and he just said no… please help me🥲
