Just bought a used 7550 with the same 1080p 500-nit FHD DCI-P3 display. I find that I don't notice the difference between 4k and 1080p much at this screen size (maybe my eyes are just bad 😅) The color and brightness are likewise pretty nice, but what's really bothering me (coming from a XPS 15 7590 OLED) is the backlight bleed. It would be cool to upgrade to a high-refresh-rate panel too, but I'm not sure how to verify compatibility. I tried to do a similar upgrade on my 7590, I checked and all of the specs seemed to line up in Panelook, but when I plugged it in it fried the backlight circuit on my motherboard. So I bought a new motherboard and an OLED display LOL. Does anyone have any success stories re: upgrading to (perhaps) a QHD 165hz panel or similar?
