Interesting. My experience with the TB18DC dock caused me to lose my hair. It was a struggle to get it to stay connected and work properly. I gave up on Dell docks because of that experience. I expected such an expensive piece of hardware to be well-designed and reliable. I'm glad that you're having a good experience with the WD19DC. Hopefully Dell has learned from the debacle of the TB18DC. Noted. Fewer cables is better, but connecting the power supply isn't a big deal. Have you had any issues with the WD22TB4? I'm looking for a TB4 port also, so that's likely what I'll end up with. I'm not in a hurry so I'll set up a monitor on that page to see when/if it goes on sale. Is anyone else here using a third-party TB4 dock like Belkin or Kensington or Brydge?

Any suggestions for a dock to use with my new 7770? I've had awful experiences with Dell's dock for the 7730, so not partial to Dell at all.

I received an email from Dell this morning (the first in many weeks) indicating that my 7770 just shipped. It linked to a tracking number. I clicked the tracking link, which opened the courier's website showing that that 7770 was delivered to my studio yesterday. The order status page still shows that the laptop was scheduled to be shipped on Sep 18 with an expected arrival date of Sept 28. It's a little annoying that Dell can't keep order status straight or send accurate, meaningful status updates, since that meant an extra hour of driving for me today, but at least I have my new laptop ahead of schedule.

My 7770 order status shows that it was expected to ship on Sept 18 -- three days ago. But it doesn't show that it shipped, and I haven't received a shipping confirmation yet. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised but 🤷♂️.

No. I've been impatient all along, but also too busy during my busy season to think about it much. But when I just placed an order for an XPS 13 2-in-1 detachable for onsite work I happened to notice the earlier expected shipping date for the 7770. Since it's relatively soon, I'll probably forego an XPS 17.

The estimated ship date for the 7770 I ordered on Aug 10 was just revised from Sept 28 to Sep 18. Now expected by Sept 28 rather than Oct 6. Just as I was about to cancel the order and buy an XPS 17 instead.

How does that work? You plug the USB devices into the router instead and use Virtualhere to use them on your computer? Which router lets you do that? I've used VirtualHere with printers before but haven't thought about using it with other devices.

I placed an order for a Precision 7770 a few days ago with an expected ship date that's almost two months out. Because of the delay, and some signs of disgruntledness toward the 7770 on this and other forums I'm beginning to wonder if a decked-out XPS 17 wouldn't be an acceptable alternative. I'm a full-time photographer and occasional videographer that uses Adobe Lightroom heavily to process hundreds of photos every day. Any improvement in editing and exporting times in Lightroom multiply quickly with my work. I currently have a Precision 7730 with 64 GB RAM and 4 internal drives (1-2 TB each), totalling 6 TB. The multiple drive slots were a large part of why I picked a 7730, since I need a lot of internal storage. I see that the new XPS 17 is available with a 4 TB drive, which might be enough for me to work with, and is available within a couple of weeks. On the pros side for the XPS 17: - available much sooner - the high-end configuration is over $1000 cheaper than the 7770 configuration I picked - touch screen was occasionally handy when I had an XPS 15 - looks much more svelte (though I don't really care about that) On the cons for the XPS 17: - less expandable - fewer drive slots Any thoughts on an XPS 17 vs 7770 for my usage would be appreciated.

Two days ago I ordered a 7770 to replace my 7730. Expected delivery is October 6. Anyone have a good source for patience? Amazon? 😄

Has there been any announcement of when the 7770 will be available for ordering? I mistakenly almost ordered a 7760 before realizing my error. Too many long days = brain misfunction.

Hello everyone. Is there any speculation on when we might see a 7770 announcement? I'm getting eager to replace my 7730.
