  1. maybe someone can help me... i got my 7670 today. i installed 3 x Samsung 980 Pro 2TB SSDs Bios is in RAID mode, and shows the 3 SSD's i installed Win 11, had to put the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers on the Stick... once loaded the windows setup showed me the 3 SSD's. i installed on the first one. once installed the Dell tool loaded all the drivers and so on. i used the intel rapid storage tool to create a RAID 0 with the 3 SSD's. that worked and took about 1 hour. Well - after reebot i get that screen - and there is no way to fix it. installed windows 2 times and waited 2 hours for the raid. any ideas ? As far as i understand i can't create a RAID in Bios. i have to create it in Windows with the iRST Tool ?
  2. 64 to 128GB was 550€ (with german tax) for me. The prices on the Dell homepage are not what you pay when you ask for a discount...
  3. he asked about "all Slots" so i guessed he wants to install more than the first.. i guess the airflow inside the chassis is pretty low. Well i will see if Dell will produce mine somewhen in the future. The delay from august to Oktober sucks...
  4. a heatsink on the SSD would not change anything - where should the heat go? Its not like this is a case with airflow you need the heatpad to connect to the case. so the case is your heatsink...
  5. I think you will not experience a differnece. I bought 3x 980 pro - and they will be much cheaper for a long time. when they release a 4TB Version next year - that will be interesting. my 7670 was promissed for this week - now i got a mail with Oktober... 😒
  6. well, not long ago a lot of people didn't want SSD's. because they didn't trust that they wear out over time... I'm using OLED Displays for years without any issues. (yes with static images like Taskbar,...)
  7. or you could use 4 x Samsung 980 Pro 2TB. cheap (i paid 220€/piece) and super fast and reliable. if it has to be 4 or 8 TB i would try the Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus
  8. Well... There is no sharp line between Pro and Consumer... In my Desktop i have an Titan RTX - This thing supports all Pro features (no ECC) but was listed as consumer... In fact it was a Quadro RTX 6000 without ECC. you could even use the Quadro drivers. so you're right - but in reality a lot of things work. And for CAD a lot of cards are more than enough even if they are no Pro line.
  9. Well it will work with 3080ti, too. What only works with Axxxx is, that you can split the GPU in a way it looks like different physical GPUs to the system. If you use multiple VM's that could be a real benefit. And you can change the splitting on the fly. In terms of CAD... I use Fusion 360, solidworks (catia in the past) - never sensed any difference to consumer cards. ECC is nice - but i would only pay for that in a real criticial enviroment. The Desktop Version of the A5500 is speced to 230W. I guess the mobile version will get half of that in a good case where the CPU doesn't need that much. 3080TI is speced with 350W.... so more like 3 times as much. The mobile Version runs at a much better efficiency so you will not get 2 or 3 times the calculating power. but still...
  10. The Professional Cards do have extra Education discounts for universitys. 3080 Ti - A5500 would have been no big difference. The Axxxx Chips have a better binning and often run a little more efficent. (silicon lottery) at least there were times when this was the case. Don't know if this still is i do have some use that the 3080ti can't do (at least the driver doesn't offer). Splitting the Chip for different VM's for example. (AI computing)
  11. you're right - RAID 0... in the Configurator "Raid 0 is only allowed with 2 Hard Drives. Please amend your selection from the provided links." I'm not sure how the 3 drives are connected. i guess only one uses the direct PCIe connection from the CPU. The other two are connected with the Chipset i guess. I will see... If i can make a 6TB Drive out of the 3 Drives it would be nice.
  12. my "all in" should be delivered end auf august. i9, OLED, 128GB CAMM, RTX A5500, ... no WWAN possible due to OLED. i will install 3 x Samsung 980 PRO 2TB drives. It will be interesting wich RAID configuration is possible. The configurator only let you choose RAID 1 with two Drives. One big 6TB RAID with three drives would be perfect but i guess it will not work. Price is way under the configurator - but i get an university discount.
  13. in germany it tells me Freitag, 19. August ... that would be great. but no WANN config possible. no matter wich CPU or Display. and it's not possible to check out because of OS incompatible.. (no matter of linux or win)
  14. I'm going for the 7670, with wwan. And in the specs there is GPS listet. would be a nice feature. - we will see. not sure if i will get the A5500 or the 3080 ti. I will have to wait until i can order in germany.
  15. i guess the performance of the SSDs is not the bottleneck. i will try to get a 7670 and put 3 Samsung 980 Pro 2TB drives in it. if there are only 4 lanes directly from the CPU i will use one drive as system drive, an the two other as on 4TB drive. if all drives a linked over the chipset i will try to use a big Raid 0 with 6TB. hope there will be a complete spec list soon. And most importantly - it will be able to be shiped (in europe) would be nice if it supports 5G mobile ...
  16. what is the difference between hight / hight front and rear ? i get front and rear - but just hight is the biggest figure ?! what Raid's will be possible in the 7670 ? RAID 0 with 3 Disks ? or one System Disk and RAID 0 on the other two ? this System really gives a lot of possibilities.
