  1. After searching quite a bit I couldn’t find definitive answer to this question. From my personal testing DELL K2100m runs fine on couple of old machines - Acer 7738G (HD+ LVDS) and HP 8570w (FHD LVDS). HP M2200 and (I’m guessing) DELL M1200 are no-go on either machine. The remaining options (which I am yet to buy) are M2000M and GTX 965m. I wasn’t able to find much about the M2000M. As for the GTX 965m someone upgraded a 8570w and mentions UEFI Native as a requirement, no mention about the display. I also asked the seller of the GTX 965m and he said UEFI and eDP are obligatory. I find it odd since the GTX 980m runs fine on older machines without UEFI and with LVDS screens, but yeah it’s different GPU with different vBIOS. I need it for a project and I want the most performance out of a 50W GPU. Thanks! EDIT: Haven’t explored much the AMDs as there’s even less info about them. Suggestions are welcome however.
  2. I don’t know the colors of yours, but most likely red/black/white, yellow is usually for Tach.
  3. You leave the tacho for the main fan. The second needs three wires to run according to the main fan.
  4. I’ve tried the HP Quadro M2200, which should be the same as GTX 965m, but there was no picture. Maybe a DELL vBIOS might help, but the chip is an odd one and is not supported by my programmer.
  5. Has it been confirmed? I can’t find any info about it. I’ve seen 980s work with LVDS screens, but nothing about 965. And I mean straight GPU -> screen, no Optimus or something.
  6. I'm thinking about making my own heatsink and I think there was a topic, or at least a post about it, but I can't seem to find it. Maybe it was on a forum long lost? It would be nice if the knowledge can be summarized in one post, like it used to be. Thanks!
  7. Price: €170 Condition: Used Warranty: None Reason for sale: Not very compatible with my machine. Payment: PayPal Item location: Bulgaria, Sofia Shipping: Free to EU International shipping: Might consider, PM for price. Handling time: 2 business days Feedback: Bought and sold a few items around here. Specification: This a standard Zotac GeForce GTX 1070 8GB with the original 90W vBIOS. It has always been used with it, aside from a few tests with other vBIOSes in hopes of improved compatibility. I played quite a few games with it on external display since I never made it to run the internal of my 8740w DC. Never overclocked, would supply the 3 additional MOSFETs not soldered. Last 3 years it is used very lightly - to light up the external display for some browsing, no gaming whatsoever. I’m not responsible for compatibility. It comes with the standard X-bracket (never removed, since it was right for my machine) and the standard vBIOS. I can provide a few vBIOSes if needed. Proof of ownership: Time Stamped pictures
  8. Got both of them. They perform better than they should (thanks to the vBIOS). They were shipped very fast, packed VERY well. Thank you!
  9. How is the CPU score? Is it performing as it should? It would be better if you start a new thread in the hardware/modding sub forum with all the info combined. You might get more help this way.
  10. Where do you get this reading from? It is too low for two GPUs and an 80W CPU.
  11. On a second thought - your CPU is 80W, your primary GPU is 100W, this leaves about 120W for the rest of the system - RAM, HDD/SSD, chipset and other stuff including the secondary GPU. So you might be indeed power starved. If I was to undervolt and underclock anything it would be the primary GPU, leave the P5200, after all you want as much performance as possible.
  12. Here are some pictures with the vBIOS chip. Don’t mind the thermal stuff, still testing it as per request.
  13. No idea about the “Ray tracing”. I saw it but I haven’t tested it.

  15. The last couple of pictures are with it soldered. It runs as it ran while testing it, so everything is fine. How it is going to work for you is another story. It seems that I’m the only one to try it on mine and you’ll be the first one to try it on yours, if you decide to do so.
  16. Correct. Also correct - removed it from the socket, soldered it and then tested it again just to be sure. Will do.
  17. I’ll take a picture tomorrow. Mine has partial UEFI support. I’ve installed it like that to see what happens.
  18. Yes, it has vBIOS chip installed. The wires and the socket were for testing purposes. I’m not very familiar with dual GPU machines, but I’ve seen someone running the second one as a renderer. Don’t take it for granted though. It was tested on W10 legacy (non UEFI) and works, so there’s that.
  19. First post updated. Can't seem to find how to insert pictures anymore.
