  1. Well finally sprung and got a 7780 through the used Dell outlet. Couldn't see buying a new one with cooling issues. It has the i9, a5000, 64 gig ram and a 4 tb ssd. My last one was a M6600 lol. After adjusting the fans I got the cooling into a some what acceptable reading. So far pleased with it.
  2. I've been following the outlet for a while. The 7770 has been removed from the search engine. Plenty of the 7760.
  3. I need to replace my older Precision but even used with the discounts I most likely wont take the bate.
  4. Yes but the door may be. Regardless if the door is a stamped metal part it should not be sold out to the black market as a Dell part. The NDA would have or should have prevented this.
  5. This is where NDAs come in. Though this is a plastic part the same issue could be with electrical components. For the door it could have been an engineering change also. This hasnt changed my mind on getting the 7770 only delayed it. Overall I'm not even sure what Dell holds their vendor quality to. Are these vendors ISO certified? Im not a computer systems expert and cannot do the tuning you do. So hopefully as time goes by Dell will adjust up the performance.
  6. This is troubling on all levels of quality control. What was the disposition of these parts from not fit for use (quarantined) to sell on the black market? Being in the plastic industry these part should have been disposed of properly ...destroyed. Based on these on e-bay they could also be put back into production. Is the same procedure used for electronic rejects?
  7. I have a few reservations with this laptop. Screen brightness is one video outputs are another. There was a GT77 on display at a store. The screen brightness was poor. The tech couldnt answer questions on the video out puts. On the other thread this was mentioned on a link posted. There really isn't any information on this laptop except from MSI. Is it the same chassis as GT77? Looking forward to what information comes out on this.
  8. LOL I mentioned on a Dell Youtube advertisement the problems with the 7770. My post was removed and I was banned. A lot of perspective buyers started asking links to this when the banned happened. I'm a photographer on the side and with Canon you can say whats on your mind with out this happening. Canon has a patent for magnetic cooling. One of the cameras just flat out over heats so hot that the CF card will burn you when removed and at times the camera will shut down. People complained about this and Canon listened. Could this be a solution for CPU and GPU?
  9. True. I was expecting a bit more. But for what I use the laptop for its more than enough. This will be the last laptop purchase for me. I just want the best I can get and not regret it when next years models come out. I can wait on this purchase to see others views on it. Congrats on getting your.
  10. I took into question the size of the power brick and the total watts of both CPU and GPU. I questioned how they were to get power to both units. My guess was to limit something but the CPU is now also limited by the overheating of the cores. Even if a solution to the cooling system system is resolved then it goes back to the power delivery. I'm no hardware engineer but I think the engineering at Dell pooched this. LOL its still better than the 6600 I have. I agree with the new CAMM. Hope there's some solution to this I want to get one on order.
