  1. Hi! I know this topic has been asked here from time to time, but I think for quite many years there hasn't been a possibility for an upgrade from MXM RTX 1080 to RTX 2080 or RTX 2070. However, suddenly I noticed that there are now many MXM RTX 2080 and RTX 2070 cards claiming to be compatible with some MSI laptops with MXM RTX cards. Like this ebay RTX card, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 8GB MSI GT75 GT73 MS-16L5 GT83 VIDEO CARD MS-1W1E1 for sale online | eBay My own computers model is GT73VR 7RF Titan Pro with this kind of card in it, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR6 MSI GT83 VIDEO CARD MS-1W1B1 N17E-G3-A1 | eBay To me, they seem to be compatible enough that you might not even have to change the heatsink with that. Or is there some kind of catch here? Maybe a hoax? Please tell me if you know any better, thanks!
  2. Hi! If anyone could tell me are 3.0b and 3.1b cards compatible together? There might be difference when it comes to internal heatsinking, but I think their measurements are quite same. Just asking because found this card and can't figure it out if it would work in my GT73VR 7RF Titan Pro laptop or not... Link: EGX-MXM-A4500 | Embedded MXM GPU Modules | ADLINK (adlinktech.com) Might be that my laptop only supports those 3.0b cards but then that Radeon RX 6600 might work better...
  3. As I started to look what other options there now are I found this card and according to my investigations it might work as upgrade for MSI GT75/73 laptops. Link here: EGX-MXM-A4500 | Embedded MXM GPU Modules | ADLINK (adlinktech.com) What do you think? My laptop has RTX 1080 what also could be only MXM 3.0b compatible, but it's hard-to-get info as there are MXM 3.1 compatible RTX 1080s too, but PCI Gen 4 cards should work with PCI Gen 3 slots thought. Some info about MXM ports: MXM Graphics Card Types, Models & MXM GPU List (graphicscardhub.com) Also is there place here where people are sharing latest MSI laptop drivers? There once was this TechnologyGuide forum site where you could easily get latest MSI laptop drivers, but it got closed.
