Hi all,
I'm thinking of doing a test with the latest RTX50xx generation in the P870xx. Would you be interested in that too!?

I can now mod any P870...P775... for the latest graphics cards. In the original style! It's all possible without DSANKE!!

In general, is there any reason to go for a P870TM (OR KM) over a P870DM2? I'm having trouble finding any TM/KMs available for sale in the US at a decent price, but I've got a line on a DM2 for pretty cheap.
Seems like as long as you're willing to BIOS mod it, all the models are roughly equivalent.
For reference, I'm planning to toss an 8086k and probably the 300HZ 1080P screen into it. Would I see any loss of performance going with the DM2?
No, in terms of performance, all platforms are the same. The only difference is the chipset! As we all now know, all chipsets from Z170-Z370 are upgradeable with all processors up to the 9th generation!
The power consumption via the motherboard for the desktop graphics card is the same for all models! The DM2 works the same as the KM or TM!!! ...

Honestly I have not seen an X170 in person. I saw the P870 a few years back and it is absolutely massive, even making my Alienware 17R1 look small by comparison, I just assumed it would be around the same size.
My GPU expansion does not fit into the X170xx! The geometric proportions alone are unsuitable compared to the P870xx (DM23/KM/TM)! The second aspect is the electrical connection, which is different for the X170xx. My development is specially adapted to the P870xx (DM23/KM/TM)...

Do you have any plans on doing a similar modification for the X170KM? Not sure how suitable it is but it does have a two generation CPU advantage over the P870(unless your mod for the 13/14th gen CPUs comes to fruition)
Also, does this work with a P870DM2-G, or just the TM-G? I can't see why one would work better than the other but I am not as intimately familiar with it as some are here. I have a line on a pretty cheap DM2-G and am debating going for it.
Do you sell kits for this? How much would they cost(I can DM you or you can DM me if you'd rather keep any and all of these answers more private)
(Quick aside for whatever mod approves this, how do I get properly approved to not have to have every post approved by a mod? I've been posting on and off for a while and just kinda assumed that would fall off on its own after a certain account age or similar. Feel free to DM me if you don't wanna clog up the thread)
Hi,
you surely mean the GPU extension!
The X170xx has a newer CPU generation, which will be a slight advantage, but my tests with the GPU extension showed almost no difference to the 9th Gen!
My GPU extension works with all P870xx, except the P870DMG (the very first model)!
Please send me an email for further answers!

Did You overclocked the gpu ? +150 core / +30 memory 😁 . Even if not OC the GPU i am satisfied with that level wich you got it.. such a great work
Yes, I played around a bit. Also to test how the card behaves!:-)
Thank you for your support

Anyway i think the gtx 10xx series can’t appears resizable-bar option even if enabled ( above 4G Decoding ) option it’s only working with rtx 30xx gpuz
Yes, I think so too! It only works with the new cards... Unless NVidia makes updates for the VBios, but I don't think so!....

@Developer79 any ideas ?
Hi Maro,
your bios is the limited version!
In addition, the bios does not have such support. There was no rBAR yet!
That also depends on the bios. The GTX10xx series could possibly also be updated via Nvidia. But I don't know exactly.Greetz:-)

Another new thing I have developed is that the second CPU fan (5V) for the P870TM is properly controlled by the Clevo motherboard. This way the fan is not constantly running at full speed...
Below you can see on the left how the fan starts and stops:

Here is a test with Horizon Forbidden West with the RTX4070ti in comparison with a desktop PC and 13700K. The power consumption of the GPU is also astonishing, almost the same! My power supply, in the form of an SSD 2nd hard disk slot, can withstand the load without any problems. All settings are identical. NO FG, DLSS, FSR....

KF is the better CPU in terms of thermals as its on die GPU is disabled. Will perform better under those circumstances.
In addition, the GPU will always be switched off on the P870xx anyway, as this is due to the design and was planned by Clevo! No matter whether 9900KF or 9900KS both work the same in the P870xx motherboard...

Would you do the same test with Wukong using your NEO? So that you can compare the laptop performance!
That would be nice:-)

I see you giving up 9900ks and you changed it with 9900kf is there any problem with your cpu 9900ks ?

Hi,
The simple reason for this is that I don't have another 9900KS to test at the moment! I think the KF will do for now.
But I think the comparison clearly shows that the 9900KF / KS is still a very good gaming processor e.g. in comparison with the gaming processor from AMD 5800X3D. I have also compared with 13th/14th Intel Desktop, and it also looks good 🙂 The 9900KS should perhaps work even better. In UHD you can see the real performance.
But the comparison also shows that the processors don't make the huge leaps as promised by advertising, at least in gaming! The P870xx in combination with my expansion can keep up well with the latest platforms in terms of gaming.
I'm currently still testing 4k/UHD resolutions, something isn't working properly yet. Otherwise, the rest works very well and is stable. I would be really interested to see how the latest RTX50xx generation works in the P870xx:-)Greetz

Hi,
here is another test with Cyberpunk 2077 in FHD in the P870xx with RTX4070ti. Average FPS is about 40FPS higher than the latest RTX4080/4090 laptops! But also depends on the game. That should be clear. The electrical power consumption of the GPU is about 250W. So the total power of the GPU runs completely via P870xx motherboard. See picture. All settings in the game are exactly the same!Another Test with new Game black myth: Wukong AMD 7 5800X3D and RTX 4070 Ti

hello @Developer79 .. you did a great work . did you finish a laptop assembly ?
Hi Maro,
no, I haven't completed it yet!
I'm still doing some tests on the display etc.
I have made a new MXM board and am testing the routing.Greetz

what modifications did it require to get the 4080 working? 😮
inf mod I assume at minimum?
great works as always!
Hi,
no, I have now perfected everything concerning the recognition in the bios and the driver installation.Everything as originally made by Clevo:-)
The driver only needs to be installed normally, nothing more! Done 🙂 No more Inf-Mod or anything else necessary.
The benchmark results of SteelNomad are even done with less power consumption. Only about 80%, i.e. about 260 watts!

Here is a comparison with desktop cards and RTX40xx laptops with Cyberpunk 2077 and all the exact same settings in the game:
And here Steel Nomad Light with 4080:

Just ordered one of the 2070 Supers. I currently have a 1080 with the vapor chamber heatsink. What adjustments do I have to make to the heatsink in order for the 2070 Super to fit properly?
The vapor chamber must be properly machined with the milling machine. Why didn't you buy the RTX3080? The price is affordable and my adapters work specifically for this series of cards. RTX30xx! The adapter is now in its 3rd version developed by me. They have been working for the P870xx, P775xx, P750xx, X170xx for over 2 years. If you have any questions, you know how to contact me :-) However, every heatsink of the laptops must be processed.

Hi,
I sat down and developed a holder for the GTX10xx-RTX30xx for the P870DMG! Until now, it was always a bit difficult to convert because of the holder of the new generations. Many people have already built their own holder, but always in a special way. Here is my model for printing in 3D. Plastic is perfectly adequate:-)

Also my 3080 has arrived finally and I shall be getting it on thursday, now if @Developer79 can provide details of how their brackets work, Pictures of said brackets, Or a place to purchase said brackets that would be great, Otherwise I will be doing an initial "does it turn on" test and then making my own.
So I can repeat it again. The adapters were developed by me and are now in their 3rd version. If you want to know something about it, you can write to me here by e-mail:-) Since the RTX30xx MXM came out, my adapters have been running and I have been constantly improving them.
