  1. They... The retail shop/repair partners or MSI's own repair facility? Regardless... This sucks.
  2. Peddie thinks inflated prices will likely plummet when retailers and scalpers have excess inventory that they can't move, and we agree with the analyst. The issue is that what Peddie suggests won't happen soon, so we must exercise enormous patience to avoid temptation. I think it will come sooner than later. Now its up to Nvidia and AMD push out enough cards. But will they? It probably depends on how near we are launch of next gen cards. GPU Prices Will Eventually Plummet, Analyst Says According to Peddie, graphics card suppliers aren't the ones benefitting from the price surge. Instead, the retailers (Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, etc.) and scalpers are the parties reaping the handsome profits. Meanwhile, shops like Best Buy got more creative and put Nvidia's Ampere graphics cards behind a $200 paywall. Unfortunately, the measure backfired and ended up helping scalpers, not gamers, get graphics cards.
  3. People mostly prefer plug and play (no tweaking). And most people don't buy the most expensive gear (neither if its the DDR4 or DDR5). And its well know that DDR5 ain't much better in games... So, a new click bite. But I still enjoy his videos. DDR5 is what DDR4 was. It will maiture with age. The main problem is the MB manufacturers. They have to offer premium at premium price. Hence they don't want pair DDR4 with the upper class motherboards. People simply don't connetc DDR4 as premium products going forwards. They all think that the newest has to be better. Add in older DDR4 doesn't match what they expect or think what they want for newest gears. Edit. Happy to see you here bro @jc_denton🙂

  7. I have put together the old with the i7-3770K again. Stole some fans from that build for the new so I had to see what I could find in the drawer/closets. A nice thick fat 38/40mm baby from around 2008 (Sunon KDE1212PMS3-6A). Also re-used the weaker fans from the Artic 420 AIO. The older parts is made the old fashion way for longeivity so it went right into the old machine🙂 Yep, if you looking arround home, a lot old stuff will always pop up if you have the habit save on old stuff. Got it up and running again The cabling ain't important on this old machine. Just popped in some old parts and here we go🙃And there is no window in this chassis so.......
  8. Finally something for me in the gaming world. I'm not a gamer but enjoyed the Max Payne saga. One of the few games I played in the older days. I really hope this will become a reality. 10. When will Windows 11 stop screwing up the little things? pcworld.com | April 6, 2022 Microsoft seems oblivious to the importance of efficiency. At this point, using Windows 11 feels like signing up for death by a thousand paper cuts. I like to get through my to-do list without added headache. I have no reason to leave Windows 10, which works extremely well. Our official Windows 11 six-month report card reached a similar conclusion. In fact, I feel sorry for new PC owners saddled with what feels like a half-baked operating system. Couldn't say it better myself. See bolded text above. Even if you tweak the OS for your likings, its still a half-baked OS! Isn't that correct bro @Ashtrix @Mr. Fox? And it seem they they follow same paths forwards. Facepalm: Microsoft's Huge Incoming Windows 11 Security Upgrade Requires A Clean Install Do you remember when Microsoft said Windows 10 is "...the last Windows?" We sure do. It is obvious now that the Redmond software giant has walked back on that claim, as it has since released Windows 11. And apparently, for Windows 11, yet another OS installation could be in your future.
  11. The ASUS ROG Strix LC RTX 3090 Ti run sub 50C and still become beaten in OC by the 15 C hotter running air cooled MSI card. Either a frog from Asus or Asus use worse binned chips to compansate the increased costs for the more expensive AIO cooling solution. You should still be able for a decent vram oc even if you run above sub zero temps. But nothing really help if they cut cost. Or make trash... Intel NUC 12 Dragon Canyon with Intel Core i9-12900 in review https://www.notebookcheck.com/Intel-NUC-12-Dragon-Canyon-mit-Intel-Core-i9-12900-im-Test.610236.0.html Nevertheless, the compact design only offers limited space for appropriate cooling. With the unthrottled Intel Core i9-12900, this is very quickly at the limit under load, so that the temperature limit is reached again and again.
  12. Some places (etc Australia) they pay near 50% premium for the KS chips.
  13. Fancy sell. Bling bling and exotic cooling is worthless if the cards get chips from the bottom barrel. When AIO solution is wasted money for OC'ing.... Why offer good cooling on cards if they pair it with bad binned chips? The biggest gimp on this card so far is the GDDR6X memory overclocking, which I was limited to pushing +1200MHz into it (22.8Gbps or so) compared to the MSI RTX 3090 Ti SUPRIM X which can easily have +1800MHz pumped into it pushing it past 24Gbps... incredible stuff. Not stable in every game at +1700-1800MHz, but for cypto mining it's absolutely rock solid. The ASUS... not so much. ASUS ROG Strix fans will gush over this card, but with the OC dials turned up to 11... the water-cooled card isn't doing much to impress. If we saw the power limit pushing upwards of 600W, and the GPU clocks pushing 2250-2300MHz+ then that would be a different story for the AIO cooler. 15. Microsoft unveils plans to integrate Windows 11 and Windows 365 via hybrid Cloud PC experiences Windowscentral | April 5, 2022 The future of Windows is the cloud, according to Microsoft..... Surface Pro 8 outside on a table showing Windows 11 desktop Techradar.com | April 5, 2022 Microsoft is improving its touch controls on Windows 11 with new update Microsoft has announced that Windows 11 is getting new and improved touch snap layouts on touch-enabled devices. Surface users rejoice, Windows 11 is getting better touch snap options Since snapping four windows onto a Surface Go’s 10-inch display is already too much information to handle, we can only hope that Microsoft has carefully considered the snap layouts that users might actually want to use on their touch compatible devices.
  16. AMD Radeon Software Reportedly Alters CPU Settings Without User Knowledge For an unemotional but correct classification: AMD’s non-transparent implementation seems a bit too much of a good thing to me. Of course, a lot of room for adaptation is always good in principle, but the software’s functions along with basic interventions in the BIOS settings have to be explained transparently and comprehensibly for the user, so that the user also knows what actually changes. Automatic changes that intervene so deeply in the system and about which the user is not informed should not really exist. Even more so when you load something for your GPU, but it actually affects the CPU as well. This is Microsoft behaviour. There ain't no fight so there ain't no problem. But a BGA Venting thread in the forum is welcomed.
  17. Will still be more expensive. And you get 50% less performance on the table. OEMs and Nvidia rob you. Both your money and the performance. Nice see you still fix flaws/intended crippling. And it's very needed. Because this is darn disgusting. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Core-i7-12700H-Processor-Benchmarks-and-Specs.589170.0.html https://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Core-i9-12900HK-Processor-Benchmarks-and-Specs.589165.0.html

  19. All you need to upgrade for the desktop is graphics cards down the road. With a Jokebook you are stuck with what you have or need to buy a new (no other choices). A new gaming laptop will be more expensive than a new desktop card. The miner race is soon over and Nvidia and AMD will get a new competitor in Intel for graphics cards. Laptops will always be the gold mine (milking cow) for the different OEMs. Just add some Alu in the chassis, make it even thiiner and with RGB lights and they can tune profits in all ways. Lets take coming 4080... Next gen gaming laptops with mentioned cards will be +3000$ and most likely provide 50% less performance vs the desktop cards due the never ending TGP crippling from the laptop manifacturers and nvidia. The desktop cards will get increasesed TGP. See it this way... Laptop graphics will get well under half of the TGP power vs the desktop sibling. Aka from worse to worse for gaming laptops due the hunger for new and more modern Apple look-a-like chassis design.
  20. This isn't a refresh where you get a small boost at the same price point before the next generation arrives, rather this is what we'd call a "milking." A small performance bump for a big price hike, a hike that sees the MSRP hit $2,000. Nvidia GeForce RTX 3090 Ti Review Techspot.com I'm sure Nvidia wanted see the reactions from reviewers on the new increased power consumption they intend to provide for coming 4000 series graphics cards. Make a new price point early before release for their next gen high end cards will also help Nvidia to adjust MSRP for 4000 series cards. Double win for Nvidia 🙂
  21. The trend will also affect desktops. Desktop processors is now reused mobile chips that sip too much power in laptops. Not the opposite. Hence we now see hybrid processors with half of the cores as small wimpy power efficient E-cores.
  22. Thin and slim over anything else.... Yep, laptops is meant for portability and not performance. Hence Razer have started remove cooling fans to increase battery capacity. Next step is most likly to remove another fan for even bigger battery. When will we see next gen slimmer and thinner gaming-laptops with only passive cooling but big fat 99 Wh batteries for on the go? @Ashtrix @Mr. Fox ++++ The Razer Blade 17 suddenly has a bigger battery this year. What's the secret? The latest 2022 model with 12th gen Intel CPUs has dropped one of the fans for a total of "only" three fans as shown by our images below. It's an unannounced update that Razer decided not to market even though it's a change that enthusiasts might have likely wanted to know before purchasing. By removing a fan, however, the chassis can now house a larger 82 Wh battery instead. So, why not remove the third fan for an even larger 99 Wh battery? As you can probably imagine, overall temperatures are generally warmer on the 2022 model when compared to earlier models as detailed in our review especially since the 2022 model utilizes an even more power-hungry 165 W GPU. Razer probably weighed the benefits and disadvantages of removing the third fan and found that the gains in battery life wouldn't have offset the increases in temperature or even potential decrease in performance.
  23. The 3090 Ti use all vRam chips on top of the cards now. The proper way to cool the vram. Double capacity chips has its advantage. The vram below the cards on the 3090 reminds me all too much about Dell's failure with the Gpu power delivery put below the card with passive cooling on the Area51m fiasco. I know the smaller capacity vram chips for 3090 needed that space on the pcb, but this is not optimal for cooling. Hence wee see up to 110C and boiling vram especially on Dell AW's proprietary 3090 graphics cards.
  24. Next one one the cut list will be 3DM Fire Strike. Why not add all EOL benchmarks into one of the download packages? They still offer Ice Storm. Just let people download the installer they want. The public intaller they offer links to on different download pages can be the crippled one. Want full package then go into your account and pick the one you want. How difficult has it to be?
  25. You need older drivers on older cards. Newer drivers from Nvidia is a fiasco. Why can't nvidia do the same as AMD? Do they really hate that you keep your older cards?🤔 Can't run Time Spy Extreme because of the vRam cap. I look at you Nvidia. You castrated your so called 4K gaming flagship card with 10GB vram (3080@10GB cards). Put vRam right around the minimum limits is never a good thing. Neither is greed. https://hwbot.org/submission/4964636_papusan_3dmark___time_spy_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_2359_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/4964611_papusan_3dmark___cloud_gate_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_43782_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/4964615_papusan_3dmark___sky_diver_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_27615_marks https://hwbot.org/submission/4964617_papusan_3dmark___fire_strike_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_7467_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/4964634_papusan_3dmark___fire_strike_extreme_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_3601_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/4964724_papusan_3dmark05_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_79616_marks?recalculate=true https://hwbot.org/submission/4964723_papusan_3dmark11___extreme_geforce_gtx_760_(256bit)_3672_marks?recalculate=true
