Probably a long shot but does anyone have a pair of RTX 3090 or 3090Ti they’d be willing to sell for a good price?

I have already seen  it. And Vince aready advertising hard for the BTF connector. Probably the next big thing for next gen 2 dim OC board from Asus. I just love proprietary solutions. Hell; yeah what I hate Dell and cApple. There is also a chance Asus will enter the list of shame.

And it starts....as predicted

5090 discontinued

5080 16gb discontinued

Incoming 5080 24GB as the new flagship gaming card...

I would not be surprised to see it for $1499.99 moving forward...

Get ready for the 6080 24GB as our new "flagship", no 6090 and needing to spend blackwell pro levels of $$$ for what would have been 6090 performance bump but Nvidia putting all gaming "gains" behind DLSS and FG....

"According to a notification from the factory, Nvidia will no longer manufacture any RTX 5090 models, including the D variants," a message cited by @hongxing2020 reads. "Going forward, the highest-end GeForce graphics card will be the RTX 5080 24GB, while the RTX 5080 16GB version will be discontinued. Please spread the word."

With the rumors showing AMD bringing the heat next gen, I have no problems moving back to AMD for, oh what would it be now, the 5th time over the last 10+ generational leaps since 2000?

Pretty disgusting if this pans out....

New eventual product stack at this rate till 2028:

5080  24gb

5070ti 16gb

5070 12gb

5060ti 8gb

5060 8gb

5050 8gb

Could be. But xx90s will still flood the Chinese market. Nvidia's only chance to sell high end chips to china. They won't stop sale of chips. Only stop selling to consumers/gamers.

And for the records.... XX90 as they are now is dead. Probably back to xx80Ti's with much less cuda cores for "High end" Gaming. And same for memory. Want the best then you'll pay for the PRO.

May I smell a xx80Ti coming?🤐

Looks like overclock.net forum moderators caught a scammer using a deceptively similar forum name with an extra "i" at the end (hAnSkii) and banned him. (link) A seller asking to take all conversation to email is a red flag that something is off. The stupid piece of crap did not realize I had already initiated a private conversation with the real @hAnSKi and that was also a red flag. Scammers are nothing more than human garbage and they all deserve to die.

Note the spelling of the forum name with the extra letter "i" at the end. Worthless bastard. He wasn't even smart enough to identify what was still available for sale and what the interest was.

This new version of mVolt is insane! It basically has vBIOS editing! No more need to disable secure boot or mess with drivers. You load your vBIOS file, set the limits you want, and hit restart driver and boom unlocked vBIOS power limits/current/memory offsets with any vBIOS file. It also survives reboot and then you can use MSI Afterburner for overlay, etc.

SO it has all of the features of mvolt+ extreme plus the vBIOS features? Nice. Will have to check it out. mvolt+ extreme has been awesome because I have been able to run both of my 5080's with a 1000W power limit, and both GPUs use it all. It's crazy how badly the Green Goblin has gimped the performance of 5080. (Probably to make the gap between 5080 and 5090 as large as possible.)

I was out of town for NYCC, so I just got a chance to watch this. I liked what I saw.

He's coming into it with rested, fresh eyes and open to BTF and other changes. That's a good thing. He isn't jaded.

You KNOW those parts are binned AF especially with his buddy Shamino working there. I am sure that 9950x, 270k and Astral 5090 BTF are gonna RIP. Cardboard boxed MBs including 2x AMD and 1x Intel. Asus basically sent him $10k worth of hardware and you know what? I'm ok with it. Dude is a legend and I'm glad he's come back home.

Oh they most certainly will except as much pricier AI cards.

5090 resell values will be directly tied to the pricing of GB202 formerly 5090 die cards so they will plateau around $6k-$7k unless prices continue to rise for the AI 5090 aka RTX 5500 which is estimated to cost ~$9200 with 84GB of memory but I suspect it will go for more and rise quickly and 5090s could eventually hit ~$8k.

Eventually 5090s even on the second hand market will evaporate as they are snatched up for AI.

If they start to resell for $7k+ by next year, there is a very strong chance I will let mine go but we will see in the moment.

Either way, the 5080 GB203 is fully tapped out so the only way to see a true xx80TI card would have to be an even more cut down GB202 but with the way AI is snatching up everything, that ~15k core count card would probably be paired with 64GB of memory and sold as yet another AI product at this rate.

Ironically, it is the limitations of the grid that could be one of the factors that slows down the onslaught of AI. It will hit a wall either through lack of buildout resources, debt fatigue, failure on ROI or all of thee above.

Bad enough when they would message you telling you "a friend" had what you were looking for and to email them at *****@*****.tld, but now they're trying to use the old phishing approach of making names appear as close as possible in messaging.

Definitely going to snag that.

The amount of adjustability and features being unlocked recently is awesome. Everyone checking their ASIC scores? 🤣

I suspect they did it because the GB203 in the 5080 is full fat and to offer a 5080 Super in the future could only be a power bump so they went ultra conservative with its power profile.

Of course if current rumors are true and they discontinue consumer level 5080 and 5090 models and only offer a 5090 24GB model, it will suddenly be a 600w capable unit too.....thank you Jensen....

Yes I believe it has all Extreme features. But the new "Extend limits using BIOS override" lets you essentially take any 5090 vBIOS and modify it's limits. Essentially letting you XOC any vBIOS file. It then simply does a driver restart to apply those new limits and they stick even after reboot, so set it and forget it. I guess it was some backdoor Nvidia put in to allow for OEMs to test hardware without needing to flash?

AI has lead to insane advancements lately. Hard to keep up with all the changes.

On a side note, I have offers to buy my 5090 D HOF XOC for $6000 locally. I am considering it, but then I'd be left without a 5090 and only a 5070 Ti and 5070 Prime on hand.

I love my 5090 but if I were in your shoes I would do it. Maybe see if you can chisel another $200-$300 out of the deal, given how insane 5090 prices are. Here's why: The 5090 has been declared to have an immature EOL due to the immeasurable dishonestly of the ghouls at NVIDIA. If something happens to your 5090 the OEM will likely do something crazy bad underhanded and dishonest rather than repairing it, paying you curent fair market replacement value, or replacing it at no cost. Up to and including finding a lameass reason to deny warranty. That is how almost all of them roll now with EVGA no longer keeping the industry honest. The PC part OEMs have never been so dishonest and crooked as they are now.

Buy two 5080s and pocket at least $2,000 difference. A 5080 will never come close to 5090, but if we are honest about what we "need" it doesn't need to. Even a 5070 Ti or 9070 XT will do in a pinch. 5080 is more than enough for gaming. 5090 is the weapon of mass destruction we all love and want, but given the chances of a sketchy future get out while you still can and make a buttload of money off the sale. Don't consider it scalping because with the 5090 now being EOL it is going to be a collector's item only for idiots with more money than common sense.

Anyone that gives push-back on the price being too high should be wished good luck finding a functional 5090 priced anywhere near the original intended retail price before AI made the world stupid, and then remind them that it is now officially a collector's novelty item with no ceiling on what a moron will pay for it. No different than a vintage muscle car that now sells for 20 to 100 times what it orginally sold for new. It's worth as much as an idiot that can't live without it is willing to pay. Use of common sense, intelligence and value are no longer playable cards for 5090 shoppers.

If is seems kind of like I am hoarding hardware now, it is because I am. Motherboards and CPUs will probably end up being as poor a value proposition as RAM, GPUs and storage have become. I am buying things I don't need cheap now so I can sell them later for stupid prices. If prices fall, I bought the stuff cheap and will have spare parts available for personal use.
