ryan
I had a dum dum moment again, ha all the top 3060 scores are with ddr5 ram at 4788mhz vs my ddr4 3200mhz. for what its worth I have the number one spot for my hardware configuration, although I like benching my daily clocks for gaming are always stock and after a few tweaks and a fresh install im managing 18k in firestrke stock with strong cpu and gpu performance. I think as of right now im saving for a desktop hopefully in 2 years once this laptop won't game at 1080p/4k ill be able to afford a killer desktop. heres stock, thank gawd I figured out my scores, true blonde moment clearly the ram has alot to do with scores and its funny because you guy are constantly talking about overclocking and tuning ram. also id like to add what happened to @tps3443 I think he got a even better sample and ran for the hills with it living in seclusion for his remaining years as a overclocker kinda akin to bobby fischer. poor soul...lol...come back man I'm sure you can show us more benchmarks. 3 ZEUS-COMING SOON Omen 16 2021 Zenbook 14 oled Vivobook 15x oled

Thanks to the wonders of AI we also now have to think about voice cloning as a tool in identity theft. Isn't that special. My 4090 works flawlessly with the Z690 Dark. Gigabutt and Zotrash would need to help EVGA make accomodations for their UEFI weirdness, which they never did or were not willing to do. EVGA has been hated and ostracized for their elitism, superiority and commitment to being better than the Kool-Aid drinkers for a long time, so it is not surprising they are headed toward extinction. It seems like that happens to any person, organization or company that dares to do the right thing or strives for excellence. The blame rests on Gigabutt and Zotrash though. Mr. Fox
4 hours ago, jaybee83 said: geez cant decide whether to laugh or cry at that 🥲 It's worth crying over, but the humorous hyperbole helps me cope with the unpleasant reality of the disaster we are headed for. They were the last and only motherboard manufacturer that provided firmware that puts the final decision about certain things in the hands of end users, while their competitors ram it all up our butts whether we want it or not. For example, the US Government (and probably others) won't allow any computer system connected to their internal networks to function with Intel ME enabled because it is a massive security hole. It also impairs performance by enabling other worthless trash like Intel Watchdog Timer. It's OK for consumers to have the risk exposure though, yet the only solution for consumers disabling it with a simple BIOS option has been provided by EVGA. It is so naughty of them to let their customers decide if they want the filth. Another example is the option to choose to go full legacy boot (not UEFI with CSM) if you want to. That may also have something to do with the Zotac and Gigabyte 40-series compatibility issues, not to mention the excommunicado treatment from NVIDIA for not drinking the neon green Kool-Aid. When you go against the flow, it comes at a cost. Few are willing to do what's right when it costs them something to do the right thing. The Heroes and Righteous of the world will always be punished for doing the right thing. Here's another random example of exactly that: Stockton police investigating 7-Eleven workers in viral beatdown (Caught on live video beating the stuffing out of a would-be robber that deserved far worse, now facing bogus assault charges instead of reward and recognition due to corrupt leadership that deliberately chooses to never do the right thing.) 5 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. There is such a head start on AMD with 4090 that I would imagine it might not be for another year or until AMD releases something powerful enough to take the crown from NVIDIA, whichever comes first. If I were NVIDIA, I would not release a faster and more powerful GPU until I needed to in order to beat the competition. I'd milk my current flagship until there was no milk left. ryan
Im torn, I have this 3060 laptop and for the games I play its enough, but in games like grid legends I have to play with medium settings and on that particular game the difference between ultra and medium is pretty big visually. I just need a game to justify a 3k purchase the same thing that happened with crysis. if starfield turns out to be as good as they say it will be, it might push me to get a 3080-4090 desktop, one things for sure unless laptop prices go down ill never buy one again for gaming at least. on a happy note my sn850x should be in the mail soon, probably get it friday. bit overkill having 3tb for like 4 games and the odd benchmark program 2 ZEUS-COMING SOON Omen 16 2021 Zenbook 14 oled Vivobook 15x oled

Somewhat unlikely given it's still the same socket and fab process I guess, unless the CPUs ship with LN2 cooling lol. ha i highly doubt that, at least not on the highend skus. on the plus side, we get three cpu gens on the same socket, my lady's machine will be happy about that 😁 should be a nice lil perf boost going from a 12600 to a 14900K lulz. plus imc should also provide benefits in higher ram clocks / tighter timings. 2 hours ago, ryan said: Im torn, I have this 3060 laptop and for the games I play its enough, but in games like grid legends I have to play with medium settings and on that particular game the difference between ultra and medium is pretty big visually. I just need a game to justify a 3k purchase the same thing that happened with crysis. if starfield turns out to be as good as they say it will be, it might push me to get a 3080-4090 desktop, one things for sure unless laptop prices go down ill never buy one again for gaming at least. on a happy note my sn850x should be in the mail soon, probably get it friday. bit overkill having 3tb for like 4 games and the odd benchmark program yeah thats one thing nobody can really help you with: personal justification for a purchase. if youre a guy who spends his money sensibly and needs proper justification then id probably go with a good value desktop build, i.e. AM4 with a 5800X3D and a 6700XT for best gaming bang per buck currently. on the benching side, as @Papusanalready mentioned, makes more sense to bench old hardware than new, thats where most bot points can be gained anyways due to much wider range of possibilities. my desktop purchase was a mix of strategical longterm planning and going for the latest and greatest / max performance. in all my previous builds, be it desktop or laptop, my main goal was always to maximize platform longevity. i like to be able and regularly upgrade individual components while keeping the same base. thats why i went for AM5, so ill be able to keep upgrading and build around it for quite a few years to come 🙂 at the same time, i waited for the 40 series to emerge to be able and maximize the utilized lifetime of the gpu. as for proper justification for this purchase? welp, my actual usage case is a mix of work / gaming / media consumption, collection, transcoding / benching & tuning (24/7 stability, not hwbot points). that doesnt justify this kind of overpowered hardware haha. so the rest is my hardware enthusiast heart speaking 😁 2 Mine: Hyperion "Titan God of Heat, Heavenly Light, Power" (2022-24) AMD Ryzen 9 7950X (TG High Perf. I've been informed they won't be able to fix it unless I can provide the Asus reverse connector as they've been unable to source the part recently. So stupid that ASUS decided to use an oddball design, but actually good news for anyone that did not waste their money on a 4090 made by ASUS. Good that all of the burned ASUS cards haven't depleted the stock for the "normal" 12VHPWR connectors that everyone else would need. I think that guy (byzking) might be trolling. I have two CableMod cables and the adapter that I am not using. I had zero issues with the cables, or the 90° adapter. I stopped using the adapter just to be safe, plus I no longer need it on the open bench. I would still be using the cables except I have no need for them since both of the desktops now have ATX 3.0 Corsair RM1200x SHIFT PSUs. 1 Wraith // Z790 Apex | 14900KS | 4090 Suprim X+Byksi Block | 48GB DDR5-8600 | Toughpower GF3 1650W | MO-RA3 360 | Hailea HC-500A || O11D XL EVO Banshee // X870E Carbon | 9950X | 4090 Gaming OC+Alphacool Block | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1200x SHIFT | XT45 1080 Nova || Antec C8 Spectre // Z790i Edge | 13900KS | 3090 Ti FTW3 | 32GB DDR5-8200 | RM1000e | EK Nucleus CR360 Direct Die || Prime A21 Half-Breed // Dell Precision 7720 | BGA CPU Filth+MXM Quadro P5000 | 4K Display | Sub-$500 Grade A Refurb | Nothing to Write Home About Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT The average response time for a 911 call is 10 minutes. Melted adapters + their 12VHPWR cables that have problems with the sense cables. They will come out from the terminal after some times use. Their quality issues with own 12VHPWR products is amazing. Their QC at the Chineese factories is a huge JOKE. Regarding Asus engineers went the opposite way and went with reverse connectors on the PCB. Why? Is it more expensive make the heatink slightly different vs the PCB? Or because they thought it was easier for the gamer kids to mount and unmount the fragile 12VHPWR connector with this design? My thought on this... They wanted to help people to mount the fragile connector to the card.
