At least he got back on the right path for using dry ice with a pot. But, his results were not impressive due to lack of experience. I've done better using chilled water. But, it's still good for entertainment purposes.

He has a decent amount of experience with LN2. Nowhere near on the scale of the true pros though. The immediate problem is the pot and surface coverage. If he had a better pot tailored to the 14900k, it would do better. His approach for the most part is sound. He notes the pot limitations early on in the video because the other one he wants to use can't clear the caps on the MB. The pot is not centered either. It is just not the right tool for the job. 🙂

A binned 14900k would help a bit too along with tuning the voltages in tandem to dial it in with the pot. Also throw in a need for an optimized W11 environment and maybe some RT runs for measure too.

CB23 44,451 multi  is not great at all....but always fun to watch.

Yup, I also enoy this channel below🙂 What to avoid.... Yep, Gigabyte goes their own way. So no love from NWR. But we all know that. My one and lonely Gigabyte card (one of +20 different cards) died due my hobby. Yup, I avoid this brand. Cheap old or not doesn't matter.

Yes, I really enjoy that channel. Very good information.

I am not sure why the fuse did not blow, but there could be a valid reason it did not. The damage looks almost like it was user-induced. It looks like physical damage with the chunk broken off. If the owner of the GPU broke PCB at the connection on the edge and the contacts pads were out of alignment when the GPU was inserted into the motherboard that may have shorted in the socket without sending any power through the GPU PCB. If the short was in the PCIe slot it could burn things at the point of contact without any power being routed through the fuse or the PCB. That could explain why the fuse was not blown.

I would like to see what the PCIe slot on the motherboard looks like. There may also have been something foreign in the PCIe slot that caused the short without sending power through the PCB, which could have burned the connection. If that were true (like a screw or washer in the PCIe slot) and the owner forced the GPU into the slot with the obstruction, that may have broken the PCB and shorted those connections.

Yes he does, and I am always amazed at how many terrible messes he is capable of fixing. He is very talented.

I enjoy Tech Notice as well. I am not into content creation, but his videos are very good quality and have useful information. That is a funny clip about ASUS motherboards. Don't admit to it, LOL.

This is an interesting video, too. He did not use the 7900 XT very long. It was not good for his use scenario.

Hmm. That's really strange. I don't think I've ever heard it mentioned anywhere that there was some kind of problem with NVIDIA 40 series on AMD. Now suddenly it is a problem never mentioned with a fix ready for roll-out? That doesn't make any sense to me. Something about that feels off

Hopefully 8000 ram as well. I am still two versions below this one. Which is v1F.  I would love to see post times improved also. Once I am to the boot menu it's fairly fast. Changing ram settings makes it horribly and painfully slow. It's like it's checking to make sure the settings you changed will work or fail, but it hangs on code 15 for like 30 seconds.

On another note, I just saw this story.

Overclocking fully supported?

It's only mentioned for the X3D chips. If that's the case, I'll wait for them instead of getting the standard X.

Read and learn from the link.... One step forwards then one step backwards. This reminds me all too much about oc'ing modern Jokebooks.... Security measures to limit overclocking = Exactly the way the OEMs treated laptops the last +decade. I'm sure no one have forgotten F. Azor's final fix when he saw that smart people could use dual 330W power adapters for their Alienware laptops.

It is mentioned, though, that although supported, AMD may introduce safeguards to limit overclocking to safer values. The byproduct of using 3D V-Cache is greater susceptibility to voltage changes.

Yeah, that fixed it. I could not see all of the window you had open with the tweak tool, but it looked like you were tweaking bclk. But, you got it over 11K. 😄 ❤️

Ah, that makes sense. It might not be obvious unless it is a first-world problem if the media hasn't gone overboard making a mountain of a molehill (as they usually do everything).

It seems not the only issues with MSI and AMD platform. If they could wait 1.5 years for the fix for 4000 series cards, then the consumers can wait another half year for the rest. Or just use the M.2 ssd as backup disk in an nice enclosure box😬 Win win, you all need backup disks (that's not always connected to the pc)😁

See this issue as an great feature from MSI, LOOL
