kojack
I am looking to kill 2 birds with 1 stone here. I am wanting to try macos and linux, so why not combine both and see how I like it. What is the most MacOS like linux distro available that can run on older i5 with hd4000 graphics. Kitje
I've heard of Ubuntu Budgie. There's also Elementary OS that I have ran on an i5 3320M that was on my old ThinkPad X230 and it ran fine. kojack
I have used elementary OS in the past and it's like OSX 7. Not really a modern interpretation of MacOS. I will have a closer look at budgie and see how that runs! thanks. 1 Workstation - Dell XPS 8940 - desktop creative powerhouse Mobile Workstation - Dell inspiron 5406 2 in 1 - mobile creative beast Wifey's Notebook - Dell inspiron 3169 - Little gem for our businesses

kojack
There is a youtube video on converting gnome to a very "macOS style" setup. I think I am going to try that and see how it goes. saturnotaku
Zorin OS has the ability to be "skinned" (for lack of a better term) to look like macOS: Zorin OS - Make your computer better. 1 Desktop: Ryzen 5 5600X3D | 32 GB RAM | GeForce RTX 4070 Super | 4 TB SSD | Windows 11 Gigabyte Aorus 16X: Core i7-14650HX | 32 GB RAM | GeForce RTX 4070 | 2 TB SSD | Windows 11 Lenovo IdeaPad 3 Gaming: Ryzen 7 6800H | 16 GB RAM | GeForce RTX 3050 | 512 GB SSD | Windows 11 Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro: Ryzen 5 5600U | 16 GB RAM | Radeon Graphics | 512 GB SSD | Windows
kojack
Do you think a core i3-2367M with 4gb of ram and SSD will run the newer linux distros with some success? it' has intel 4000 graphics as well. kojack
I downloaded and installed cutefish OS. Only to find out after when reading about some issues I was having that it was not being supported anymore and that it's DOA. So I removed it from the partition. Now I am downloading Deepin 23 beta. It looks really nice and should be fun to try out. I think I erased part of my windows partition on the laptop. No matter as it was my sons old device which nothing on it was important. I will just format the SSD and away we go. Best part it has an extra 16gb ssd built in I an use for cache and whatnot as well.
