Such a lovely OS with so many "special" AI features.  Right @Papusan?

I have been dual-booting for many years.

Can't be better than this modern OS🤢🤢🤢

Windows 11 strikes again with annoying pop-up that can't be disabled

It's enough that we have to deal with Microsoft's pop-ups. But when they can't be turned off? That's just unacceptable.

For those who have drank the Kool-Aid and joined the muppet show of Winduhz 11 apostles, here is some fuel for the fire for those of us that despise the new cancer OS. Windows 11 offers no benefit and is actually harmful to performance. The only thing Winduhz 11 offers is a new level of ugliness for those that prefer a less-useful and tackier-looking GUI. The joke is on Windoze 11 users, but it's not a funny one. Utterly worthless OS downgrade. But, everyone is too busy hating on Intel to talk about this right now.

It is that time of the year again when Microsoft has begun installing the KB5001716 update and this time it is for both Windows 10 as well as 11 systems. The update is meant to be good for your PC.

And New is always better....

Valve has published the latest results of its monthly Software & Hardware Survey. According to the findings, Windows 11's market share dropped a bit in July 2024, going below the 46% mark.

Windows 11: Microsoft wants to integrate Copilot into the Start Menu

Steam Survey July 2024 Update: Windows 10 Usage Records Uptick, Windows 11 Drops

Techpowerup.com | Yesterday
Interesting things are happening in the gaming community, as Windows 10 operating system has seen an increase in its user base on the Steam platform, while Windows 11 has dipped below the 46% mark for the first time since its launch. According to the latest July data from Steam's hardware and software survey, Windows 10's share rose to 47.69%, marking a significant uptick that contrasts with Windows 11's decline to 45.73%. This trend highlights a growing preference among gamers for the older operating system, which is often praised for its stability and compatibility with a wide range of games and hardware. Many users have expressed concerns over Windows 11's performance and its stringent hardware requirements, which have made it less accessible for some gamers, especially those without the TPM 2.0-enhanced system.

The shift in user demographics is particularly interesting given that Windows 11 was designed with gaming enhancements in mind, including features like DirectStorage and Auto HDR. However, the adoption rate appears to be hampered by issues related to compatibility and performance, leading many gamers to stick with the more familiar and reliable Windows 10. This trend could prompt Microsoft to reevaluate its approach to Windows 11, particularly in terms of addressing user concerns and enhancing compatibility with existing hardware. Other OSes are seeing stagnation, especially with Linux-based distributions recording zero change. Apple's OSX stands at 1.37%, a +0.06% increase from last month.

Did anyone had buggy MS Edge webview update after applying OOSP 10? Something broke on my new PC after clean install. It was a nightmare to get Ventoy working with Thinkpad BIOS due to secure boot issues and ISO boot. Only Wimboot worked.

Tried xd-antispy as well. OOSP 10 never failed me in Windows 10 and 11 22H2.

Autumn's big Windows update is apparently causing display problems pcworld.com

Several users have encountered screen-related issues while using the latest Windows version.

Still on Windows 11 22H2 or even 21H2? Microsoft has informed that your PC will be force-updated next month onwards.

And Microsoft prefer that some of their modern apps need to run in the background due all the tasks and the services in the background eating up the Cpu resources and make the fancy photo app not to launch up fast enough. HENCE THEY NOW NEED TO RUN THE PHOTO APP ALSO IN THE BACKGROUND, LOOL

Microsoft says Windows 11’s Photos app will run in background to launch faster

Neowin.com - September 8, 2024
The redesigned Microsoft Photos app with AI and web features has been available for some time now. After the redesign in early 2024, Microsoft updated the Photos app again in April 2024 to use..

Slight better but Microsoft have let the Windows 11 users start flood the internet with useless crap from their AI stuff stupidity....

A lot of it is conditioning and habitual in nature. I find I love Linux more as I care less about the things I enjoy doing on Winduhz. If I use Linux as a replacement, rather than a temporary substitute for Windoze, I like it more. If I try to use Linux for some things it wasn't intended for it can sometimes be frustrating. Gaming is surprisingly good, even on games that are supposedly not compatible with Linux.

That means I either need to dual boot and use Windoes for the activities I haven't given up, or find something better to do with my time. But, no matter what Linux is better and Micro$lop sucks. I think everything they do now sucks, not just the OS. They're a sucky company, just like Apple. Not as bad, but still sucky. Only icky words come to mind when I think about them, so I try to avoid thinking about them.

Windows 11 2024 Update (aka. version 24H2) officially released October 1

https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2024/10/01/how-to-get-new-experiences-for-windows-11/

Yup, and we all know you'll always get some extra from Redmond😁

Windows 11's big 2024 update leaves behind ~9GB of undeletable files

Windows 11's 2024 update is now also killing internet connections

Users are reporting network connectivity issues after installing the Windows 11 24H2 update.

The latest release of Rufus brings Windows 11 24H2 bypass for unsupported PCs, a local account-related fix, and more.

If you have an older Nvidia graphics card, you better stay away from the latest Windows 11 Canary build.

Windows 11's October update doesn't install, gets stuck and restarts

The newest Windows 11 updates — KB5044284 and KB5044285 — are throwing error codes and failing to install for some users.
