Microsoft removes Windows 11 24H2 official support on 8th 9th 10th Gen Intel CPUs

Microsoft has finally added the official CPU support list for Windows 11 version 24H2, and the company has strangely removed several Intel processors from it.

If you read the entire article, this was meant for OEM.  Microsoft is no longer providing support for OEMs that are selling these processors. Our pc's will work just fine and get updates.  Super clickbait article.

Of course support don't drop now. Still disgusting. This is just Microsoft first steps to move these gen chips away from Windows ecosystem. 

 

See... because Microsoft or Intel "don’t want" PC makers to build PCs with 8th-gen processors in 2025. Microsoft says that it will only support processors that meet the 'design principles' of security and reliability to run the latest version of Windows

That's not what's happening. It's for sellers.  In all honesty, I would not want to buy a new PC with a 5 year old chip in it anyways.  The rules of what systems can use windows 11 has not changed.  So there is NOTHING disgusting or heinous about it. Its saying PC makers you can sell NEW systems with old chips and get support.

Windows is not throttling your system, it's throttling minimized apps that are not being used.  Again. Completely different that what you are claiming.  Hating on windows is fine.  using BS articles that are completely false is another.

Its not surprising as long Windows 11 still has its TPM 2.0 requirements and other restrictions its going to stay like that, Forgot to mention the bugs still going with 24H2. I dont know whats going to happen when Windows 10 support ends on October 14 but i do know i am not upgrading to 11 no matter what.

Agreed, according to the article only the Intel Ultra 9 285K CPU was tested and affected by the issue by one user... Needs more evidence than that.

 

Also:

"The affected user also added that the same problem was not prevalent on a previous gen Intel i9-12900K and AMD's Ryzen 9 9950X, even though the latter is still not on Microsoft's 24H2 support list.

That may also explain why we did not come across such a bug during our testing since 14700K shares a similar architectural design as the 12900K as 14th Gen still has hyperthreading (SMT)."

Do you even have an Core Ultra 9 285K ? And are you following oc'ing forums? I'm sure @Mr. Fox know what I talk about.

So in that case, it's an intel issue.  if it's only happening to the 285k.  Again. not a windows issue.

If not an Windows issue. Why the differences bethween Win 10  and 11 ? Magic in the OS? Of course Intel is also  to blame. They coparate with Microsoft how their messed up hybrid processor works in the OS.

 

(Cpu) scheduling algorithms issues in Windows OS have been a well known problem. That was also the reason Intel created their APO feature. And why AMD needed create own balanced power plan due Microsoft failed do that properly in the early days of Ryzen Zen processors.

 

Please stop giving Microsot so much trust. They are the king in creating new bugs after fixing previous bugs😎

Because there is something in the 285k drivers etc that are not jiving with 11. it's an Intel issue.  my systems are faster on 11 than they are on 10.  However, mine are a 10th gen and 11 gen intel system.  Hell even my old intel Pentium gold 8th gen chip runs better on 11.
