kojack
If you read the entire article, this was meant for OEM. Microsoft is no longer providing support for OEMs that are selling these processors. Still disgusting. This is just Microsoft first steps to move these gen chips away from Windows ecosystem. See... because Microsoft or Intel "don’t want" PC makers to build PCs with 8th-gen processors in 2025. Microsoft says that it will only support processors that meet the 'design principles' of security and reliability to run the latest version of Windows People need to be morons if they'll put all too much trust into what Microsoft say or claim. 1 "The Killer" ASUS ROG Z790 Apex Encore | 14900KS | 4090 HOF + 20 other graphics cards | 32GB DDR5 | Be Quiet! Again, That's not what's happening. It's for sellers. In all honesty, I would not want to buy a new PC with a 5 year old chip in it anyways. The rules of what systems can use windows 11 has not changed. So there is NOTHING disgusting or heinous about it. Its saying PC makers you can sell NEW systems with old chips and get support. 1 Workstation - Dell XPS 8940 - desktop creative powerhouse Mobile Workstation - Dell inspiron 5406 2 in 1 - mobile creative beast Wifey's Notebook - Dell inspiron 3169 - Little gem for our businesses

I dont know whats going to happen when Windows 10 support ends on October 14 but i do know i am not upgrading to 11 no matter what. 12 hours ago, kojack said: Windows is not throttling your system, it's throttling minimized apps that are not being used. Agreed, according to the article only the Intel Ultra 9 285K CPU was tested and affected by the issue by one user... Needs more evidence than that. Also: "The affected user also added that the same problem was not prevalent on a previous gen Intel i9-12900K and AMD's Ryzen 9 9950X, even though the latter is still not on Microsoft's 24H2 support list. That may also explain why we did not come across such a bug during our testing since 14700K shares a similar architectural design as the 12900K as 14th Gen still has hyperthreading (SMT)." 1 Current Laptop: Lenovo Legion 5: AMD Ryzen 7 4800H 2.8Ghz (Boost: 4.2Ghz), 6GB Nvidia Geforce GTX 1660Ti GDDR6 Memory, 15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080) 144Hz IPS display, 32GB 3200MHz DDR4 memory, 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD, 1 TB Teamgroup MP34 M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD, Windows 10 Home 22H2

Besides, windows already watches and records everything you do on your system. WHY give bad people easy access to this. Oh, btw. Gone to linux, FCK M$. ha ha. I am on linux right now and it's SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than windows 11. I currently have it on my old dell 3169 with M3 processor 4gb of ram and 615 graphics and its WAY faster than my 1165g7 with 64gb of ram on windows 11. I went and put both systems on desktop with the system monitors up. My linux system 1-2 percent cpu, 1gb of ram and no network processes. On my win 11 laptop on desktop 30-40% cpu useage, 11.3gb of ram being used and lots and lots of network access spikes. What the FK is MS doing behind the scenes? Time to remove them from all my systems. It will take my wife and son a few days to acclimate to Linux, but they will love it after as it's SUPER fast and secure. No spying. 1 Workstation - Dell XPS 8940 - desktop creative powerhouse Mobile Workstation - Dell inspiron 5406 2 in 1 - mobile creative beast Wifey's Notebook - Dell inspiron 3169 - Little gem for our businesses

Papusan
@Mr. Fox Here's the thing.... We had something similar with older Win 8/8.1 and Windows 10. If you run benchmarks and the processor maxed out at 100%. This smart ass operating system from Redmond figured out that you weren't using the machine if you weren't touching the mouse and hence started up collecting telemetry, maintaining the OS and then sending the data back to Microsoft's servers. Only because the OS think the machine wasn't in use when you run benchmarks. Maybe it will be the same with the new Win 11 build, but with baby cores running to collect your data (the P cores is disabled while Microsoft gets its share of your data/privacy). No in Hell Microsoft is able to do this correct. Windows 11 25H2 Introduces User Interaction-Aware CPU Power Management These adjustments may include lowering clock speeds and voltage, extending time spent in deeper C-State sleep modes, and disabling high-performance cores while leaving low-power cores active. This approach aims to optimize energy consumption without compromising system responsiveness. 1 "The Killer" ASUS ROG Z790 Apex Encore | 14900KS | 4090 HOF + 20 other graphics cards | 32GB DDR5 | Be Quiet!
