New is always better bro @Mr. Fox++++ Microsoft is very keen to get their hands on your data/privacy. And this is almost as be forced to use their cloud servers.  On top they want you to pay for it when you reach the storage limits. Then you have Microsoft checking all files going from your computers to their servers. Needed for training their AI model ? So double win for the Re**rds

Microsoft Makes It Harder to Set Up Windows 11 Without an Account

Microsoft is closing more loopholes that allowed users to set up Windows 11 with a local account. Users will now be required to connect their PCs to the internet and use a Microsoft account to complete the process.

Hmmm. Why didn't they know this years ago?

Microsoft has acknowledged that there are two Windows 11/10 features that do impact and slow down your PC.

I am finalizing my off line data setup here now and getting it fired up. Once that happens I will be removing all our stuff from OneDrive/OneNote. Next will be going to LINUX ASAP. Even the wife says it's time.  I have to keep my son on Windows where he has autism and change is very hard for him, but he does not have any real stuff on his pc only gaming. Keep him on a basic MS account with no extras, besides maybe game pass PC edition.

For us however, we will be running linux for all our stuff.  I will use my iPad for work software for our inspection business.

They don't really want a userbase do they?
