Windows 11's growth was a fluke as market share falls again in December

Some of it was picked up by Windows 10 and Windows 8, but it seems users are starting to leave the Microsoft platform.

NVIDIA Brings GeForce NOW To Linux And Fire TV With RTX 5080‑Class Cloud Gaming

It took a minute, but NVIDIA has finally answered the call to deliver a native Linux app for its GeForce NOW cloud gaming service (timely too, with recent Steam's survey data showing Linux on the rise for gaming). 

 

Before now, running GeForce NOW on Linux entailed unofficial workarounds, such as GeForce Infinity, going through Wine, or through a web browser, to name a few options. That will no be longer necessary soon, at least if running Ubuntu. NVIDIA's plan is to launch a beta release early this year, and more Linux distributions could be added to the mix.

 

Of course no-one want this....

No, my surprised look is not on my face. It's a digital dumpster fire.

 

More normies are pulling their heads out and giving Micro$lop the boot. This YouTuber is not even a tech-focused channel, but he's fed up with the nonsense. He thinks Linux sucks, but that's not enough to make him want to keep using Windoze.

You can't trust Microsoft anymore. All they really want is your data/privacy for their AI training.

I hope that someone invents some kind of self-executing stealth worm malware to be automatically uploaded by the Redmond Reprobates to OneDrive without permission that would systematically crash all of Micro$lop's servers, severely corrupt all of their Copilot AI databases beyond repair, and take them offline for a week or two. Would be nice for them to experience a major tragedy from grabbing files off of consumer PCs without permission and putting them on OneDrive.

I'm thinking of migrating away from Win 11 to Mac Mini/MBP 14 because of choppy video playback and amount of things it broke every month on Copilot certified hardware.

Davinci resolve 20.3.x is broken and Dec update made it much worse even with nvidia RTX 4070S and playback being choppy with FHD 30/60 FPS. I had to edit the same video on my phone with imovie.

@Mr. Fox is adobe premiere affected? I couldn't find any threads online. I'm thinking of switching to Premiere Elements 2026 and Photoshop 2026 from Davinci Resolve Free. Premiere Pro is overkill for me. I checked with other Resolve Studio users with NVIDIA RTX installed and they reported the same issue. Adobe allows to be used on iPhone, Mac and Windows with single user license.

I despise crApple and refuse to allow them to have any space in my life. They are no better than Micro$lop... worse I think. Maybe the problem is that fact that you are choose "Copilot certified hardware" since Copilot sucks and so does the hardware (turdbooks) certified for it.

 

I have not tested Premier but I have Adobe Acrobat and Photoshop (and Micro$lop Office) working on Linux using Winboat. I love Linux. It is my daily driver. I generally only use Windoze when I have to. I haven't liked Windows since Windows 7 (the last good version).
