MiRaGe
6600 DDR5 is a bit unstable on low timings (CL32-39-39-60), but managed to get better stability at 6400 CL30-38-38-60 which one is practically better in your opinion? Etern4l
Higher frequency if stable. In practice there is a sea of difference between “benchmark stability” and “zero errors”, but for light use and gaming the former might be enough. In this case looks like 6600 for bragging about benchmarks, 6400 max for real use. You can also try stabilising 6600 with looser timings. serpro69
@MiRaGe, have you ever laid your hands on any of the earlier XMG Neo's? If so, did they improve things externally? How is the build quality this time around? Anything that you wish was "better" in your laptop? How's the LPP connector? Did they fix leaking issues when you disconnect, or example? Any plans to try Linux? 1 GitHub Currently and formerly owned laptops (specs below): Serenity -> Dell Precision 5560 N-1 -> Dell Precision 5560 (my lady's) Razor Crest -> Lenovo ThinkPad P16 (work) Millenium Falcon -> Dell Precision 5530 (work) Axiom -> Lenovo ThinkPad P52 (work) Moldy Crow -> Dell XPS 15 9550 Spoiler Senenity / N-1: Dell Precision 5560 i7-11800H CPU 1x32 GB DDR4 2,666 MHz 512 GB SSD NVIDIA T1200 FHD+ 1920x1200 PopOS 22.
MiRaGe
I’ve never had one of the previous generations XMG Neo, but I like it a lot. It is very well built and there are no gaps or anything which would me make disliking its construction. May be I would wish a bit better display as a contrast and technology but the current one is more than adequate. I will stay on Win 11😊 this is my result at 6400MHz RAM with CL30-37-37-67 and very tight secondary and tertiary timings: Tonight I’ll play a bit more to tighten them even more. and this is with 6600MHz with CL32-39-39-60 (a bit looser secondary and tertiary timings, compared to the result above): I find the first result is better for gaming, what do you think? 1 XMG Neo 17 (E24) | 14900HX | 32GB (2X16) Corsair Vengeance DDR5@6600 CL30 | RTX4090 (+285/900) | QHD @240Hz G-Sync | 2x2TB Samsung 990 PRO | Killer WiFi 1675i | Oasis MK2 WC | Win 11 Home - TimeSpy Clevo X170KM-G | 11700KF | 64GB (4x16) Crucial Ballistix DDR4@3066 CL14 | RTX3080 (+220/1650) | QHD @165Hz G-Sync | 1TB WD SN850X + 1TB WD SN750 | Intel AX200 WiFi | Win 11 Pro - TimeSpy

I don't do much gaming or overclocking to know which one is better, but I'm sure someone else will be able to answer that. But thanks a lot for sharing your impressions on it. This looks like a solid competitor to the rest of gaming laptops that are coming this year. Does it feel big/bulky? Would you feel comfortable hauling it around on its own (w/o the LPP package etc)? serpro69
What @saturnotaku said. From what I remember, displays on XMG Neo series are far from the best and I doubt one would consider these machines if their priorities for a laptop were in that area, but they're not the worst either. I personally can't see anything out of the ordinary on the pictures. serpro69
Sorry, I still can't see anything. But it's like watching at the problem (if there is one) through multiple layers: your screen -> camera photo -> my screen I know I can be sensitive to what you're describing. But that's because I want my gadgets to work perfectly in every aspect, which they never do of course Most of the times if it doesn't bother me too much - I just learn to get used to it. If it's really that notable for you - contact xmg support and see what they say. Could be they'll replace your display panel if it's in fact an issue in your unit and not something that all of their current panels suffer from. 1 GitHub Currently and formerly owned laptops (specs below): Serenity -> Dell Precision 5560 N-1 -> Dell Precision 5560 (my lady's) Razor Crest -> Lenovo ThinkPad P16 (work) Millenium Falcon -> Dell Precision 5530 (work) Axiom -> Lenovo ThinkPad P52 (work) Moldy Crow -> Dell XPS 15 9550 Spoiler Senenity / N-1: Dell Precision 5560 i7-11800H CPU 1x32 GB DDR4 2,666 MHz 512 GB SSD NVIDIA T1200 FHD+ 1920x1200 PopOS 22.
