Hi all

Thank you for posting your feedback and findings, greatly appreciated!

First time I will be buying a gaming laptop after working on a 3770k system for many years

Based in Europe, Xmg feels like the best option out there right now

I was gonna pull the trigger on the bigger Neo 17, but given that the 16 gets a  "better" upgrade I decided to go with it instead.

I will be using an external monitor most of the time, without much movement of the laptop.

Looking forward ordering when its available!

Good luck to all!

Here is a video review / contrast Eluktronics posted of the MSI Titan 18 with the new Hydroc 16 (same as the Neo 16 E24 I believe):

We've yet to find out if it's better :) But it certainly feels like an upgrade rather than a refresh.

I'd probably go with 16" as well, if I ever decide to pull the trigger on it.

A couple weeks ago I saw pcspecialist had ETA on "their" 16" model at the end of March (now it's actually nowhere to be found on the website), so we probably don't have that much waiting left.

They also have the Prema bios which will help some.

The MSI is performing a lot worse than some of the ones on 3Dmark.com but it is pretty clear that lower memory speeds will always hold it back to a degree - that is the price of having a memory architecture that allows up to 192GB memory.

I would like to see MSI or other manufacturers try their hand at liquid cooling as Uniwill / Tongfang with their two memory and two SSD slots and only up to 17" just don't do it for me although their performance obviously is very impressive.

OK so I have seen the whole thing now and the MSI results strike me as rather subpar compared to what I have seen elsewhere.

Still it is obvious that the water cooling will allow much better performance at moderate noise levels and in a stationary setup this should be the way to go. I just would not want to lug a water cooling solution around on the go so it would have been cool to also find out about the performance without the water cooling.

I'm running the PCspecialist variant of this laptop, 13900hx & 4090.

Can anyone explain how to set up raid, I have two x 2tb 990 pro that I want to put in raid 0 for shits and giggles but can't work out how to.

Thanks.

Hi,

What RAM are you running and what settings are you using to get it to CL30?

Thanks.

Hey, welcome to the forums!

How do you like it so far? I've read that they're very comparable in assembly quality with xmg, but cost considerably less.
