Hello friend, your benchmark results are very impressive. Are you still happy with the laptop? I’m going to get my XMG neo 16 (A25) in a few days. By then I hope you can give me some instructions on memory tuning stuff. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,

I'm currently struggling with my XMG NEO 17 E24 (14900HX + RTX 4090) . While many users are hitting 35,000+ in Cinebench R23, my score is capped at 30,000 .

I've noticed that my CPU is strictly power-limited by the EC (Embedded Controller) at 160W , even though I'm using the Oasis liquid cooling and Liquid Metal (Thermal Grizzly) . My load temperatures are excellent (only 77°C ), yet the performance is being throttled by the power limit.

I am running Windows 11 23H2 with the latest 2026 BIOS firmware . It seems that newer BIOS updates might have implemented stricter power management or capped the PL1/PL2 more aggressively compared to earlier versions (like N.1.10).

Does anyone know if the recent BIOS updates are responsible for this performance drop? Is there a way to bypass this 160W EC limit or a specific BIOS/EC Mod available for this model?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
