Dell Precision 5690 different fans

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have a new 5690 system with only integrated graphics. I don't need Nvidia, no need to pay extra and the new ARC seems okay for general tasks.

Here is the funny thing, when you get the system with only integrated graphics, it has a smaller heatsink and fans. I can't do anything about the heatsink because that would probably require a GPU under it. But I can swap the fans if I like as I have access to the "bigger" fans from a 5680

Do you see anything in these two pictures that would tell you using the bigger fans would be a bad idea?

Thanks 🙂

There is nothing preventing you from using the bigger "Nvidia" heatsink, also the heatsink seems very similar to the 5680 one so you might be able to buy a Precision 5680 Nvidia heatsink with vapor chamber for good cooling capabilities.
