kojack
I am seriously considering a surface 15 inch with 64gb of ram. The only thing I am waiting for is to get some information on true creative workflows. I have yet to find any information on 64gb X elite systems doing true creative workflows. Once I get some more information, I will see what I am going to do. I was looking at ProArt P16, but in true ASUS fashion, they have shoddy quality control and abysmal customer service. kojack
UPDATE: I have found some information on video editing on the snapdragon pcs. It's a big NO GO. I have to suck it up and buy the ASUS proArt P16. It's the only system that gives me everything I want in a portable workstation now. The ARM systems just grind to a hault when pushed with 4k video footage and adding any type of color grading etc. The ProArt blows through it without issue. Aaron44126
Spotted this. Some "leaked" scores from the "NVIDIA N1X" APU. (It has been rumored that NVIDIA will hop into the ARM laptop space with their own SOCs later this year, or maybe early next year.) https://www.tomshardware.com/pc-components/cpus/nvidias-20-core-n1x-leaks-with-3000-single-core-geekbench-score-arm-chip-could-rival-intel-and-amds-laptop-offerings Single-core scores are in line with the top laptop CPU offerings from Intel and AMD. Multi-core scores aren't quite up there, but better than the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite. More competition, please! electrosoft
I'm test driving a Microsoft Surface 12 2025 edition w/ M$ keyboard and slim pen with an 8 core Snapdragon in it and it performs on par with an M1 from Apple. As always, Microsoft's problem is they don't know how to design Windows into a proper tablet experience like Apple and iPadOS. With the keyboard attached, it is decent little laptop but on its own? Papusan
Dell blames Qualcomm and its Oryon SoC for the "Night Light" problem in Windows 10 and 11, there is no solution Despite being designed to offer a healthier screen experience, the Windows Night Light feature has stumbled in certain configurations, and in fact, is pitting two companies, which are still partners, against each other. I then tried a Surface Pro 7 back on 2020 and it was better but still nowhere near the seamless perfected iOS (now iPadOS) at the time. So five years pass and I'm test driving the Surface 12 2025 and first thing I look for is its "tablet mode" and it's not there so now it just feels like an odd Windows laptop that can't run a crapton of software out there. On it's own, it is just like I said "clunky" I just downloaded the iPadOS 26 beta on my 10th gen and it’s AWESOME. Now, I have to figure out ad blocking on safari since I hate ads on youtube. And move my passwords from edge to safari since edge is not working correctly. It was but I screwed with a cookies setting now it’s borked. But the multitasking, pointer, overall operation is much more like macOS now. It’s really good for a beta. 1 Workstation - Dell XPS 8940 - desktop creative powerhouse Mobile Workstation - Dell inspiron 5406 2 in 1 - mobile creative beast Wifey's Notebook - Dell inspiron 3169 - Little gem for our businesses

AdGuard is a good option for ad blocking on iOS / iPadOS. You can use the free plan, don't need to pay for "premium". There are some steps that need to be taken to "properly" activate it in Safari that it walks you through. A cursory check for me makes it seem that it does block ads in YouTube, but sometimes you need to reload the page when starting a new video because it gets hung up when YouTube wants to show an ad. (I very rarely consume YouTube content on anything other than my laptop, so my experience here is pretty light. Well, when I know that I am going to be away for a while and want some stuff to watch on my phone, I might pre-download some YouTube content with a third-party app and that will also avoid ads.) 2 Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch, 2023 (personal) • Dell Precision 7560 (work) • Full specs in spoiler block below Info posts (Windows) — Turbo boost toggle • The problem with Windows 11 • About Windows 10/11 LTSC Spoiler Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch, 2023 (personal) M2 Max 4 efficiency cores 8 performance cores 38-core Apple GPU 96GB LPDDR5-6400 8TB SSD macOS 15 "Sequoia" 16.2" 3456×2234 120 Hz mini-LED ProMotion display Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.3 99.6Wh battery 1080p webcam Fingerprint reader Also — iPhone 12 Pro 512GB, Apple Watch Series 8 Dell Precision 7560 (work) Intel Xeon W-11955M ("Tiger Lake") 8×2.6 GHz base, 5.0 GHz turbo, hyperthreading ("Willow Cove") 64GB DDR4-3200 ECC NVIDIA RTX A2000 4GB Storage: 512GB system drive (Micron 2300) 4TB additional storage (Sabrent Rocket Q4) Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC 2024 15.6" 3940×2160 IPS display Intel Wi-Fi AX210 (Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.3) 95Wh battery 720p IR webcam Fingerprint reader Previous Dell Precision 7770, 7530, 7510, M4800, M6700 Dell Latitude E6520 Dell Inspiron 1720, 5150 Dell Latitude CPi

I don't know about Edge, but AdGuard [free] does seem to offer decent ad protection on Firefox on iOS, which is what I use. (Talking about general browsing, not YouTube, which again I barely touch.)
