ccvortex
CAMM going to be the only memory option going forward with DELL? I noticed that going from 32 to 64 GB now is $1,100... this would be an absolute deal breaker for us using DELL from now on.

Aaron44126
CAMM2 is an official JEDEC standard now. Other manufacturers are adopting it. You should be able to find modules anywhere you'd expect to find RAM on sale. ...For those of us who have a system with CAMM (1) memory (Precision 7X70 + 7X80 systems), tough luck, we were the guinea pigs and upgrade modules are only going to be available from Dell or aftermarket sites. Hopefully, Dell switches to CAMM2 with the next iteration of systems in 2025. ccvortex
No one, and I mean no one is going to pay 1100 to go from 32 to 64. DELL can kiss their corporate sales goodbye. SMH

I got 192GB (4 x 48GB) DDR 5 for something like 550$ and I think that 128 GB (4 x 32) GB was around 400$ but I would have to look it up.

SMH They started selling the camm to sodimm interposer on their website so you can at least get to 96 GB for a good price. There you go - no reason to pay 10 to 11 times as much as SO-DIMM street prices for a 32GB or 64GB CAMM upgrade! I also find it quite ridiculous how Dell claims that they want to bring a new standard to the industry with these modules - must be new standards for price gouging... ccvortex
CAMM2 is less expensive I am seeing, but still 2x what sodimms are. https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr5/ct64g75c2lp5xg I went to look at getting an outlet 7780 but they are using CAMM only, so yeah, 2k for 64 GB. WTF was DELL thinking.
