song_1118
DELL Pro Max 18 Plus, The name of the flagship DELL Precision 18 inch mobile workstation for the year 2025; DELL Pro Max 16 Plus, 16 inch flagship name. DELL now uses a naming convention similar to that of Apple phones for all new generation laptops. Power consumption: The 200 watt TDP/16 inch model has 170 watts; CPU:Intel Arrow Lake-HX; GPU:NVIDIA RTX 5000-class Memory: CAMM2, Up to 256GB; Hard drive: still retains 4 M.2 2280 SSD slots/3 M.2 2280 SSD for 16 inch models; Screen: Optional 18/16 inch 16:10 OLED; Heat dissipation: Three fans; Body: AD face magnesium alloy; Port: Double Thunderbolt 5; Wireless: WiFi 7&BT 5.4&WWAN; Other: Modular battery, memory, hard drive, and quick release hard drive compartment cover, as well as USB-C single cable docking station; The 22 year development statistics of DELL Precision that I just created are as follows: The expected launch date is around mid-2025, which may depend on the official launch of nVIDIA's latest generation of mobile professional graphics card RTX 5000 class, corresponding to the RTX 5090. The final name for the RTX 5000 class may be RTX 5000 Blk. Wait patiently Based on the DELL Pro Max 18 Plus, it basically meets all of my expectations, so I am waiting for it to go on sale soon and strive to be the first real end user; Of course, there must be an article by the author that provides a detailed evaluation of it. Aaron44126
Thanks for posting. We spotted your post on a Chinese site and were chatting about it another thread. I'll bring over a couple of points that I noticed. It does not appear to have a barrel charging port. USB-C charging only? The keyboard layout looks the same, but it looks like they might have dropped either right alt or ctrl and put a "Co-pilot" key in its place. In the one photo that shows the bottom of the system, it is hard to tell but it looks to me like the back is "too tall" compared to the rest of the laptop — like they added some kind of vertical support to allow for increased airflow and larger exhaust fins. (Really interested to see the inside so we can see what this three-fan cooling system actually looks like.) As soon as these things are officially announced, I will suggest that we change the subforum name... I don't really like this new naming scheme they're going with, though 😕 1 Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch, 2023 (personal) • Dell Precision 7560 (work) • Full specs in spoiler block below Info posts (Windows) — Turbo boost toggle • The problem with Windows 11 • About Windows 10/11 LTSC Spoiler Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch, 2023 (personal) M2 Max 4 efficiency cores 8 performance cores 38-core Apple GPU 96GB LPDDR5-6400 8TB SSD macOS 15 "Sequoia" 16.2" 3456×2234 120 Hz mini-LED ProMotion display Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.3 99.6Wh battery 1080p webcam Fingerprint reader Also — iPhone 12 Pro 512GB, Apple Watch Series 8 Dell Precision 7560 (work) Intel Xeon W-11955M ("Tiger Lake") 8×2.6 GHz base, 5.0 GHz turbo, hyperthreading ("Willow Cove") 64GB DDR4-3200 ECC NVIDIA RTX A2000 4GB Storage: 512GB system drive (Micron 2300) 4TB additional storage (Sabrent Rocket Q4) Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 15.6" 3940×2160 IPS display Intel Wi-Fi AX210 (Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.3) 95Wh battery 720p IR webcam Fingerprint reader Previous Dell Precision 7770, 7530, 7510, M4800, M6700 Dell Latitude E6520 Dell Inspiron 1720, 5150 Dell Latitude CPi

I don't really like this new naming scheme they're going with, though 😕 I am currently analyzing and researching the issues you mentioned. I will publish a further analysis and commentary article about them tonight (China time). It must have a separate power charging interface, relying solely on the USB-C port for charging cannot maintain full speed operation.
Aaron44126
They might be using USB PD 3.1 which can take up to 240W. That's the same amount of power that they used with the barrel connector in previous generations. (I think in Europe, they are going to start requiring USB-C charging for laptops that use up to 240W. I'm not sure when that regulation takes effect.) 1 Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch, 2023 (personal) • Dell Precision 7560 (work) • Full specs in spoiler block below Info posts (Windows) — Turbo boost toggle • The problem with Windows 11 • About Windows 10/11 LTSC Spoiler Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch, 2023 (personal) M2 Max 4 efficiency cores 8 performance cores 38-core Apple GPU 96GB LPDDR5-6400 8TB SSD macOS 15 "Sequoia" 16.2" 3456×2234 120 Hz mini-LED ProMotion display Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.3 99.6Wh battery 1080p webcam Fingerprint reader Also — iPhone 12 Pro 512GB, Apple Watch Series 8 Dell Precision 7560 (work) Intel Xeon W-11955M ("Tiger Lake") 8×2.6 GHz base, 5.0 GHz turbo, hyperthreading ("Willow Cove") 64GB DDR4-3200 ECC NVIDIA RTX A2000 4GB Storage: 512GB system drive (Micron 2300) 4TB additional storage (Sabrent Rocket Q4) Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 15.6" 3940×2160 IPS display Intel Wi-Fi AX210 (Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.3) 95Wh battery 720p IR webcam Fingerprint reader Previous Dell Precision 7770, 7530, 7510, M4800, M6700 Dell Latitude E6520 Dell Inspiron 1720, 5150 Dell Latitude CPi
nforce4max
R.I.P those of us who like trackpads with physical buttons and same goes for the track point.
meowpressreturn
Garbage trackpad. Garbage keyboard. I bet that palmrest gathers pools of sweat. Look at all that wasted real-estate on the side where you could put lots more USB ports. Nice big screen though. Does nobody actually do any work on computers these days? As a mindless content consumer why would I pick this over a Macbook? As someone actually doing some work why would I pick this? (over ... what?, its all garbage now! fml) I guess someone leasing them for a corporate fleet won't have anything to get alarmed about though. It looks exactly like every other generic blah machine and can run powerpoint.
SvenC
Trackpad looks nice and big and with a visible area, not hidden like in the current XPS lineups. Keyboard without the touchbar is also better than in the latest XPS laptops. Looks like way more than only USB-C ports, quite similar to my 7740 ports. Only thing I will miss is the power adapter port as it makes the power adapters useless, which I positioned at different spots at work and at home. Maybe some adapters available to make them USB-C plugs? Lets see how big or small the USB-C power adapter will be, when it supports 240W. So, all in all I am looking forward to those new laptops - just early enough to pause me pulling the trigger on a 7680 early next year. I think this at least will make sense when we see the inside. Where there are no ports, it is probably because the motherboard does not extend there, because the space is used by the cooling system or the battery. They really are trying to use every bit of space inside these things because they feel pressure to reduce the size by a few mm every iteration… 1 Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch, 2023 (personal) • Dell Precision 7560 (work) • Full specs in spoiler block below Info posts (Windows) — Turbo boost toggle • The problem with Windows 11 • About Windows 10/11 LTSC Spoiler Apple MacBook Pro 16-inch, 2023 (personal) M2 Max 4 efficiency cores 8 performance cores 38-core Apple GPU 96GB LPDDR5-6400 8TB SSD macOS 15 "Sequoia" 16.2" 3456×2234 120 Hz mini-LED ProMotion display Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.3 99.6Wh battery 1080p webcam Fingerprint reader Also — iPhone 12 Pro 512GB, Apple Watch Series 8 Dell Precision 7560 (work) Intel Xeon W-11955M ("Tiger Lake") 8×2.6 GHz base, 5.0 GHz turbo, hyperthreading ("Willow Cove") 64GB DDR4-3200 ECC NVIDIA RTX A2000 4GB Storage: 512GB system drive (Micron 2300) 4TB additional storage (Sabrent Rocket Q4) Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021 15.6" 3940×2160 IPS display Intel Wi-Fi AX210 (Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.3) 95Wh battery 720p IR webcam Fingerprint reader Previous Dell Precision 7770, 7530, 7510, M4800, M6700 Dell Latitude E6520 Dell Inspiron 1720, 5150 Dell Latitude CPi

I guess this is meant for all those pointless meetings that could have been emails rather than for productive work which likewise has also been the fate of Thinkpads for good part of a decade now.
