18R1 RX480 not detected in bios

Hi all, 

 

Swapped my m290x for a rx480 last night, card isn't detected in bios. 

 

I've switched to sg mode, tried setting peg always enable to both on and off, and have tried setting to igpu only and still no discrete graphics found. 

 

I've heard these cards can be finicky with BIOSes, but is this uncharted waters?

I never got RX 580 to work BUT I got WX7100 to work which uses v1.1 PCB. 

 

I think RX 480/580 use 1.0 PCB. For some reason I never got it to work but WX7100 pulled form dell precision works eDP in M17xR3. 

 

Polaris only works with eDP BTW I think, no LVDS

hi, my rx480 is not detected in my AW17 R1 either, but works in m17x R4 though. Figures...

It has to do with his the system can't read the temp sensors . Since haswrll systems and above . (Clevo p870) Support MXM upgrades both them require detecting temp sensor . There ... Might be a way to bypass it but I haven't figured it out . I've tried a 480 with modded bios . Modded vbios . Nothing worked . The 480 is now in an old iMac 2011
