Mark Zuckerberg says they will lay off 8,000 Meta employees to justify the $145 billion increase in AI investment

Every technology company is completely focused on AI and allocates a large part of its investments there.

NVIDIA admits: "AI is more expensive than workers, but companies ignore it," so why are there so many layoffs?

The use of AI has spread everywhere, and companies and individuals are increasingly using it in their daily lives. The proportion of people using it at work has skyrocketed in recent years

Tech layoffs have already passed 100,000 in 2026 as the industry cuts jobs to fund AI

A hot potato: Tech sector job losses in early 2026 have already surged past 100,000, and the past month suggests the trend is not subsiding. While AI automation is likely not the sole cause, aggregated reports suggest it is the leading factor, with Meta's transition into an "AI-first" company headlining May's damage to the job market

TL;DR: A growing backlash against the forced adoption of AI is building across the industry, but enterprise executives remain as bullish as ever on the LLM-driven future. According to at least one prominent tech leader, that enthusiasm may signal how out of touch those at the top have become.

AI comes at a price. While data centers increase electricity prices, AI search makes news consumption more expensive.

Yann LeCun says xAI is "kind of a failure" – and the whole AI industry might be headed for a reset

Big quote: Yann LeCun isn't buying the current AI boom – or at least not the way it's unfolding. In a recent interview with CNBC, one of the "Godfathers of AI" and AMI Labs founder took aim at both the business model and the underlying technology of today's leading AI companies, suggesting the industry could be headed for a correction. Along the way, he singled out Elon Musk's xAI as a company facing particular trouble.

For now......

AI will eventually replace many jobs including white collar smart sector employment. The only problem here is some companies tried to roll it out too early and are paying the price but the writing is on the wall. AI will only continue to get smarter and better. That is its (un)natural evolution assisted by mankind to usher in their own replacements on many levels.

So many are mistaking apathy and disinterested consumerism in regards to AI producing a marketable product to justify its cost. Any and all AI tangible consumer grade products in the here and now that can return even a few pennies ROI is icing on the cake.

The real product and end game is replacing expensive human workers as much as possible with AI automation.
