Hi there, I want to know if it is possible to upgrade to a P4000/P5000. I know that M4000/5000m are working. Also are the Aetina Cards and other will work? There was an Aetina 1080 on eBay. At the moment there is a Clevo 770m in there.

GTX 900 Series more then likely anything from Pascal (GTX 1000 series) upwards requires either Nvidia Optimus or EDP display connection.

Anything that has a 3.0b mxm format that you can cool down will work with a modded driver.

From what I know Aetina 1080 is longer that a standard 3.0b mxm (you might not have the space), also keep in mind that Aetina needs extra power pins.

So your meaning no matter what VBios a P4000 btw has, it would work with a mod.inf?

If I remember correctly people on the NBR forum upgraded P775DM with one of those, but the board had HP vbios on it (had problems with dell vbios).

Why not go for a 1060 or 1070?

1060 would be nice if the price is ok. 1070 is hard to mod. There are only MSI cards on the market I think.

There are also 1070 mxm 3.0b, these but I have heard people having trouble with them.../if you buy one ask the seller for a specific vbios that works with your clevo otherwise I would not recommend it.

It’s very expansive. Then I will go for a P4000 for half the price.

Where did you find a P4000 for 250 usd?

  • 2 weeks later...

So, now I got a Quadro P4000 for 250,- Euro. And it works. Only the driver had to be modded.
Next question I have is, this P750dm came with the 4K Sharp Display LQ156D1JW04. It’s broken. Is it possible that I can install an LQ156D1JW02B?

Check the service manual for compatible display, you can get that from prema`s website, under service manuals: https://premamod.wordpress.com/

Also check https://eurocom.com/ec/lcd()upgrade under Upgrade LCD Chart: Sky X4; P750DM

I checked the upgrade chart. And do you think this other LCD could work?

Electrically would work, but in terms of firmware support I don't think so. You might end up unable to control brightness or even with a black screen if the panel firmware is not supported.

Ok, I will try it. Maybe it works.
next Thing is I can‘t get sound via HDMI. The external screen works fine, but the sound comes from the internal Clevo speaker. Normally I can choose sound via Samsung TV.
Is the HDMI driver missing maybe?

I can‘t find hdmi driver. Only Nvidia HD Audio Driver.

That is the hdmi driver. Try to select the TV as an audio source next time, in the sound settings tab.

For an RTX (any Clevo GPU Pascal/RTX) to work you will need:

1. MXM circuitry (2 wires that supply 3.3v to 2 pins on the MXM slot) + modded heatsink to accommodate the new style.

2. Correct extra power cable (you can actually mod the 4 pin one that you have + a celvo one - 8 pin).

3. Enough space - this is your problem.  There is physically no space to add an clevo pascal/rtx in there.

Or you can buy this or this if you can find one.
