Derpmaster69 Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Grabbed an MSI GX70 off of FB Marketplace for 50 bucks. Has a bad battery and keyboard and has some white lines in the corners of the display panel. Specs-AMD A10-5750M with Radeon HD 8650G iGPU 8GB DDR3L AMD Radeon HD 8970M/R9 M290x 2GB 128GB SSD After digging up some old posts in Reddit and MSI forums, I found that the CPU cannot be upgraded any further. The RAM can be upgraded up to 2x8GB 1866, has some sort of super RAID card to run 2 MSATA SSD's in RAID configurations. Anyways, regarding the GPU I found nothing. It has an MXM-B slot and I was wondering what GPU's it can take. PS-This laptop uses some weird "AMD Enduro technology" which I think is like SG but only for AMD GPU's. Anyone knows what GPU's my laptop could take?

I’m not 100% sure, Honestly, I’m not sure you can do much here cuz you should know that the 8970M is basically a rebadged 7970M, which was already one of the best AMD cards for that slot, I mean I had one these bois earlier, so I know that much but I don’t know what you’d even upgrade to. Putting in an Nvidia card sounds like trouble to me, since the BIOS is built around Enduro and I doubt it would even boot but you could try , I mean risk it for the biscuit situation. The cooling is made for the stock card too. For 50 bucks, just get the 2x8GB RAM, a better SSD, a keyboard and a battery. That’s where I’d put the money. you know for the built to be in sync the built should have components that are right against each other , earlier some hardware issue came in my laptop too and I asked gpt everything , then I realized a few things about this , and I remember gpt sugessted me a site too where they had this cool feature to compare parts against each toher , I think the site name was Etech Devices. anyways, I suggest you before buying anything , you should know what you are buying , hop into some review before it and search a query like this for example "Acer gaming laptop 0001 model issues" like that and im sure there will be a reddit page for that .. if there's not you are good to go
