I tried it once with friends a while ago and it was easy to set up and good fun. Worked pretty well, maybe the odd minor glitch, though we never got a round to trying the Community Updater which is supposed to bring a fair amount of improvement.

You can switch back and forth between the new and original graphics with a button press while playing. Pretty shocking to see how bad the original graphics now look recalling how blown away with them I was at the time 😄
