My M17xR3 isn't as fast as the newer R4 with newer GPUs, but I think it performs decent lol. This is stock of course. I'm running Windows 7, so GPU score is lower compared to Windows 8/8.1/10/11

I thought Win 7 had better performance than Windows 8/8.1/10/11. I'm going to try a dual boot on the m17xr4 win7 vs win10. I thought I read on this forum someone said win 7 gave better performance

Cutting the case for the card and installing the RTX 3000 on Alienware 17, with further installation of the msi GTX 1070 card.

Good score. RTX 3000 is a good upgrade for these older systems. Performs well and pairs well for the 4-core CPU.

My 17  R1 with 4710mq and RTX3000

I know that is 17 thread but 18 is similiar platform. I am courius why I have almost 1500 point better result on my old m18x r2 ??

The biggest advantage is in physics points - CPU diference ??

Alienware M18X R2 - i7-3940XM@4.5Ghz - Quadro RTX 3000

Alienware M17X R4 - i7-3740QM - K 4100

M18x R2 can keep Core voltage to 1,063 all the time and can boost 1890MHz core speed most of the time. 17 R1 cannof for some reason. I still am struggling with BIOS setings to figure why core voltage is so low, depsite board receives 80Watts almost all the time.

And yes, CPU impacts the most on Physics Points. 4710 turbo to 3,5 and for a small time window. A 3920mx/3940mx has the 3,5GHz out of the box.

I forgot, I tweaked RTX to 1920MHz 🙂

It's only few MHz but really give difference.

HP one? Cause PNY is a no go in editing and BIOS flashing. I wanted to flash HP Bios to PNY and failed miserably
