Sandy Bridge
MicroCenter has their Black Friday deals starting, and so far this is probably the best one I've found. $200 for the 5800X: https://www.microcenter.com/product/630284/amd-ryzen-7-5800x-vermeer-38ghz-8-core-am4-boxed-processor-heatsink-not-included The 5800X3D only has a $50 discount, and goes for $400. My take is AMD is trying to clear out inventory of most of the AM4 processors, but still views the 5800X3D as one they can make a lot of money on with upgrades. Which makes sense, for anyone who's already got AM4 it's an obvious upgrade path. But man... if I had an older Zen I'd probably go for the 5800X upgrade at half the price. They've got some other good options too. If you just need an AM4 system, $130 nets you a Ryzen 5 3600 with a free motherboard. 5700G (free heatsink octo-core, no GPU required) for $180. 12 core 5900X for $330. Unfortunately the AM5 deals aren't very impressive, $50 off a mobo with a 7700X or higher, but that's not nearly as good as the free DDR5 deal they had briefly in early October, and the processor discount is only one cent. There's some good ones in other categories too (anyone need a $99 11.6" laptop with Windows 10 Pro?), but I'll keep this thread focused on AM4/AM5 processors. 1 Desktop: Core i5 2500k "Sandy Bridge" | RX 480 | 32 GB DDR3 | 1 TB 850 Evo + 512 GB NVME + HDDs | Seasonic 650W | Noctua Fans | 8.1 Pro Laptop: MSI Alpha 15 | Ryzen 5800H | Radeon 6600M | 64 GB DDR4 | 4 TB TLC SSD | 10 Home Laptop history: MSI GL63 (2018) | HP EliteBook 8740w (acq. 2014) | Dell Inspiron 1520 (2007)

Let me know how it is, I have been on the fence about it mostly because I dont want to make the drive and am unsure about Gigabyte monitors. Would love to hear your feedback Based on HUB testing of other Gigabyte monitors, I expect this will offer excellent performance for the price. Just need to make sure the master of the house is OK with spending the money. I won't have any info to share about it until after Christmas, though, as it will be a gift. 1 Desktop: Ryzen 5 5600X3D | 32 GB RAM | GeForce RTX 4070 Super | 4 TB SSD | Windows 11 Gigabyte Aorus 16X: Core i7-14650HX | 32 GB RAM | GeForce RTX 4070 | 2 TB SSD | Windows 11 Lenovo IdeaPad 3 Gaming: Ryzen 7 6800H | 16 GB RAM | GeForce RTX 3050 | 512 GB SSD | Windows 11 Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro: Ryzen 5 5600U | 16 GB RAM | Radeon Graphics | 512 GB SSD | Windows

saturnotaku
I realize it's too late now, but the G24F has been excellent. Great image quality and motion clarity. I also really like how little space it takes up. Here's a pic of the kiddo's new battlestation, and the monitor is a perfect fit. 2 Desktop: Ryzen 5 5600X3D | 32 GB RAM | GeForce RTX 4070 Super | 4 TB SSD | Windows 11 Gigabyte Aorus 16X: Core i7-14650HX | 32 GB RAM | GeForce RTX 4070 | 2 TB SSD | Windows 11 Lenovo IdeaPad 3 Gaming: Ryzen 7 6800H | 16 GB RAM | GeForce RTX 3050 | 512 GB SSD | Windows 11 Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro: Ryzen 5 5600U | 16 GB RAM | Radeon Graphics | 512 GB SSD | Windows
