forgot to mention i had to elongate a bit on the holes on the delta to able to screw in the bolt near the fan connector.

I tryout a experiment 4 years ago with a dell m6700 cpu first avc fan then delta fan for my m6600 but i forgot to do the "see the different temps after sacrificing the m6600 cpu fan connector" before do this mod😅, what i remember at that time the fan able to go 100% fan speed at time of how high the fans can go. it able to turn on and off normally. now currently the fan hasn't gone up 100% as I now I'm using a different thermal paste gc-extreme and not the mx 4, and put thermal pad to send some of the heat from cpu to the palm rest. i haven't post about this mod cause i didn't have proper test results and its currently using optimus with p4000 cause the amd m6100 gave up so temp are different vs the time i was testing it. the cpu is i7-2760qm. if possible if the fan can fit and the holes align on your m4600 if u want to trying out the experiment on m4600 but there risk if not done right. as i wasn't using m6600 as my main laptop. i was able to solder the cables to the position where the delta fans old cables suppose to as the delta cables had color marking nearing the solder pads for which cables go to where. If u do try it make sure the fan can turn on n off/lower the fan rpm as my first test on the delta fan i had to go adjust the solder of the cable to able to turn off/sends commands to lower the rpm properly when the temps goes down enough.

i didnt think there was no restrictions of power adapters over 240w is possible for m6800 maybe m6600 n m6700 also? it can be any dell 330w adapters?

330W power adapter works on m6800?

3d screen for m6700 is so far i know, if dell have another brand of 3d screen cause i see 2 of the model i will mention on ebay is LTN173HT02-D02 that have on my m6700.

hello question, what power tools you guys used to edit the m6800 gpu heaksink? cause i gotten a hp quadro p4200 and some of the components from the gpu will need carved/remove some aluminum and edit some copper on the gpu heaksink for mainly for m6700 and maybe m6600 for testing.

but will optimus work on directx12 and with the lastest version driver that i wonder. 🤔

These hp turing mxm gpus, are the last gpus with edp support?

i wonder about that because when i was testing the p106m after restarting it after doing that trick the, laptop does boots to desktop even tho the screen is black i press random key on the keyboard and it play windows sounds. perhaps possibly could try tinker the vbios like how the 2 person did from macrumors user shawn09345 and colohgc did with p5200 same on the gtx 1060 from the p106m vbios since both are g106. 🤔

have you flashed your quadro p4000 with engineering sample for m6700/m6800?

The driver version i used from gigabyte on p106m was also a similar version but is 384.74, that partially worked on that benchmark. seems like something on the new drivers broke functionality with this type of optimus on m6600 or other sandybridge systems for the pascal gpus. 🤔

Hello, want to start a discussion about anyone tried a screen that have either gsync or freesync support if works on edp connection? i wonder if this was talked about in old forums. i connected my m6700 with p4000 and m6600 with firepro m6100 on my asus monitor that have free sync/gsync compatible and it does work both p4000 and m6100 on displayport. i see a user named GREYSTAR using a b173zan03.3 on his m6700 as it panellook mark as freesync supported, i message him about his screen but i he may not be active again.

Wonder if switching out the chip from pcp mxm card with any of those rtx quadro ada gpu's you find workstation laptop changes anything, those one do still have edp support?

how you how oc the p4000 with the vbios? would like to try it on my m6700 but not sure if these vbios are like compatible with m6700.

seems the RTX 3000 has potential to run on m6600 with some vbios that could work or either mess with vbios. 🤔

lp173wf3-slb1, requires the edp to lvds adapter and cables. does rtx 3000 using the original vbios or the hp rtx 3000 vbios that works on m6700? i forgot how someone setup his hp mxm turing gpu on m6700 using edp or optimus?

you could try tinker the vbios like that person did with his quadro p5200 if your vbios chip cant be attach with CH341A, i think they call the section what i seen in a redit post talks of what started to get the quadro 5200 working is the header?, like anything before offset line 00000A00. i recently messed around p106m vbios by replace the header with the working vbios of quadro p4000 and it allow me to boot without me switching out the gpu just enable back optimus and back in the p106m, but the same story on p4000 on m6600 but is unusable, it shows on device manager with yellow exclamation mark with the drivers installed and powertech read clock speed zero. possibly some where in the header to allow optimus to work on m6600? i also have theroy of maxwell gpus of tesla m6 and the vbios of m3000m i posted both hold key to allow optimus to work on m6600 for tesla m6 with m3000m vbios as it has no header but the code is different vs other m3000m vbios and the header of m6 like as i try m6 on my m6600 it booted to windows even tho optimus doesnt plus the trick i did with p106m, may allow the maxwell gpu to boot into windows without it freezing. i seen certain models of gtx 980m on ebay that you could attach CH341A making flashing easier to unbrick gpus when you mess something up.

Hello i like to share a vbios of m3000m that works for m6600 (credits goes to ather/545sytes) i test it on similar spec quadro m3000 SE and it allow me to boot only in optimus but unable to use it or did something incorrect. couldnt test any further cause i try difference vbios and brick it. m3000m vbios for m6600.zip

Hello. anyone have issues shutting down the m6700 on windows 10 and is there a fix for it? when i try to shutdown my m6700 the screen turns off then it like turns the screen to the login screen. the restart option works that how i turn it off. with f12 boot option.

when i put like m4000m or p4000 it is enable by default and u have option in the vbios. but for p106m and m6 when changing to those gpu, optimus is enable but the option is not available on vbios, after u turn off it switch to gpu display even tho those gpu dont have display. it will boot to windows but with no display.

nope didnt work. i flash the vbios in the linked video still optimus is disable/didnt worked. 😕

I gotten my hands on Tesla M6 and it resulted that optimus didn't function even with the trick i did on p106m. with the trick: it did display with intel gpu on the screen but the gpu wasn't on device manager, when I restart to see how it behaves. it turn on with no display but able booted windows. does Tesla M6 require some type vbios to work i hear for optimus to work ?
