  1. For all these messages when you are running WD19DC or WD10DCs 1. You have plugged a lower wattage power adapter USB C charging device or power pass-through device. Your system will continue to work but may not perform at it’s peak. 2. Your port does not provide enough power to operate the attached device. If possible, attach a power adapter to the external device. 3. Multiple docking stations are not simultaneously supported. Disconnect additional docking stations. 4. Your dock fan has failed. You may experience reduced performance until your dock is serviced. the solution is to reset the Dell dock like @Aaron44126 proposed. How to reset the Dell docking station 1. disconnect all extra USB devices like external hard disk and USB hub if exist. 2. shutdown PC. 3. disconnect laptop cable. 4. disconnect dock power cable from the wall socket. 5. push dock power button down and keep it down. 6. connect dock power to wall. 7. count to ten. 8. release the power button. 9. connect the dock cable to laptop.

  3. Please report to Dell you findings. They are collecting information from customers. https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/precision-mobile-workstations/precision-7670-and-7770-bios-update-version-1211-discussion/667f02e09135e72a52f93525 There is also separate questionnaire for Dell Precision 7X40 owners. Better ask from Dell support the official Dell BIOS Bridge activation tool. I have one which was used when I downgraded 1.18.0 to 1.16.0. Same tool may not work with latest BIOS versions. I haven't seen any problems with 1.21.1 but I don't use HDR. What are the benefits of HDR. Does it really make a difference with Dell Precision native display? I thought I need some good external display which support HDR. How about disable NVIDIA from device manger if you need to save battery for a short period? Why purchase heavy Dell Precision with NVIDIA graphics if you don't need it? I run on battery only when I go to meeting rooms, which happens maybe once a week.
  4. I am running version 552.55 directly from NVIDIA and it works with all Dell Precision 7XX0 models. Why just uninstall current driver with DDU and install the driver what you want to use. Sometimes the drivers just stop working or some feature has problems. Reinstallation or upgrade helps. Intel UHD Graphics driver is 31.0.101.5333. Does the resolution change work?
  5. Here is my status running on battery about 5 min in idle mode. I have not disabled my NVIDIA GPU. External display, Bluetooth headset and DAC is connected. Dell Optimizer 4.1 is installed with only Audio and Power options. I use Charging Mode => Primary in AC and Thermal Management => Optimized. I never use on battery because this is Precision and not any Latitude.
  6. Thank you @mkolejak and @RYANKO Here is my experience about the BIOS downgrade process. Precision_7x70_Bridge-BIOS_downgrade.exe will activate the Bridge mode version 98.18.0. After restart device may hang to Dell Security BIOS start logo. Wait five minutes. If still stuck, power off, open the bottom cover and disconnect battery cable. Wait a while and connect the cable back. Now the device will restart. Last step is to install normal BIOS 1.16.0 update. This will do the real BIOS downgrade to version 1.16.0. After successful BIOS update device may still hang to Dell logo start screen. Power off and try again. Finally, the Windows will start, and System Information will show BIOS Version Dell Inc. 1.16.0, 15 Sep 2023.
  7. @Honest Lady I understand that you are angry and frustrated. But what is the point to write a long text to forum if you do not reply to our questions. We forum members maybe able to help in your problems. What we cant fix is how Dell support or packet delivery works in USA. In my country it works a bit better. Here any delivery companies never just leave box outside the door. If you are not at home they will ask a new time and come again or you can go and collect your package yourself from their pick point. @katalin_2003 did ask you very good questions about your mouse case. Your original message was missing detailed information what kind of mouse your are using. You can have several mouses connected to same device at the same time.
  8. BSOD driver unloaded without cancelling pending operations Boot into safe mode Uninstall NVIDIA drivers with DDU Boot into Windows In Device Manager, uninstall any devices under Software Devices called "NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework". They all had a yellow exclamation Reboot Install latest NVIDIA drivers Reboot I am running today BIOS 1.26.0 with NVIDIA 537.42. Luckily I have not personally seen this but it's know problem. Maybe because I have not skipped over any BIOS versions. After BIOS installation uninstall the extra NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework if exist. Intel Turbo Boost Maximum Technology 3.0 setting is removed from BIOS since version 1.22.1 like you noticed.
  9. After installing BIOS 1.26.0 go to Device Manager - Software devices and check the status of NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework. Uninstall the extra NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework if exists. NVIDIA Control Panel - System information - Dynamic Boost 2.0 must be Yes.
  10. Hi, From where are you looking the drivers? Here is the Dell official page https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-uk/product-support/product/precision-17-7740-laptop/drivers Dell Control Vault3 https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-uk/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=8chrt&oscode=wt64a&productcode=precision-17-7740-laptop Version 5.14.10.10, A26 ------------------------ Release date 07 Aug 2023 Fixes & Enhancements - Fixed the issue where the Windows error message is displayed during driver installation when Microsoft Smart App Control is enabled. - Fixed the issue where the German eID cards do not authenticate when you use the AusweisApp2 software. File Name: Dell-ControlVault3-Driver-and-Firmware_8CHRT_WIN_5.14.10.10_A26.EXE This has it's own branch in Device manager Older models like Dell Precision 7X20 are using Dell ControlVault2 driver.
  11. I have updated several devices with BIOS 1.27.0. No problems so far. I cant say the same Dell Precision 7X50 and 7X70 latest BIOS updates. Dell has lately published new BIOS versions to almost all Latitude and Precision models. Too much work compared to the BIOS group's resources. No time to do testing and quality control before new version release. About unplug and plug the cables, I agree. You must have a bit patient. Some delay is always required.
  12. New BIOS 1.14.1, release date 17 Aug 2023 Fixes & Enhancements This release contains security updates as disclosed in the Dell Security Advisories DSA-2023-152, DSA-2023-180, and DSA-2023-190. For more information, see Dell Security Advisories and Notices. Fixed the issue where a small logo screen is displayed first and later switches to the full screen logo. This issue occurs when the Full Screen Logo option is enabled and you boot the system with a custom logo. Breaks & Problems Device is stuck to Dell logo after successful BIOS update, waited more than five minutes. Rotating circle does not appear under Dell start logo. Power button still works. Access to BIOS settings with F2 takes three minutes. To view BIOS settings does not help in this case. Start the device without laptop charger running on battery and PC is up in seconds. Following starts up with laptop charger connected are just fine like always with Dell laptops. I hope you have better experience.
  13. Have some updated to he latest BIOS version 1.27.0, release date 10 Aug 2023? Your dock WD19DC still works with both USB Type-C cables?
  14. This is warning about latest BIOS 1.24.0, release date 09 Aug 2023. If you use Dell dock WD19DC only one cable light is on so you do not get enough power etc. I have done all know reset etc. tricks. Nothing helps. BIOS downgrade fails. Best temporary fix is to use Thunderbolt dock WD19TB and use Dell Precision 7X50 own charger as extra power source. Now the all external displays work again. Last good known BIOS is version 1.23.1, release date 20 Jun 2023. Here is more discussion if you are interested ‎Dell Precision 7550 and 7750 System BIOS - 1.24.0 Breaks Docking Station USB C | DELL Technologies The faulty BIOS file is still available for download.
  15. I installed the latest NVIDIA driver 536.96. Now the NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework is gone. Even using the show hidden device do not show any more the broken device. NVIDIA Control Panel - System information - Dynamic Boost 2.0 is No, which is expected. If someone can get the NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework back to life with BIOS 1.23.0, please write a note. Should I make a ticket to Dell? Last time it took about six months after the device was OK gain.
  16. Have you checked the status of Device Manager - Software devices - NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework after updating BIOS 1.23.0 At least in Windows 10 it is again hidden and broken. Uninstall or NVIDIA driver update does not help. Last Events Device not started (nvpcf) Information Device ROOT\UNNAMED_DEVICE\0000 was configured. Driver Name: oem143.inf Class Guid: {62f9c741-b25a-46ce-b54c-9bccce08b6f2} Driver Date: 11/03/2022 Driver Version: 31.0.15.2669 Driver Provider: NVIDIA Driver Section: nvpcf_Device.NT Driver Rank: 0xFF0000 Matching Device Id: ACPI\NVDA0820 Outranked Drivers: oem28.inf:ACPI\NVDA0820:00FF0000 Device Updated: true Parent Device: HTREE\ROOT\0
  17. All of you who got BSOD are running Windows 11? So far no BSOD with Windows 10 or nvpcf.sys problems. But lets see what happens here in the future. Only 1000 device to be updated someday.
  18. New BIOS 1.22.1 for Dell Precision 7560 and 7760 Fixes & Enhancements This release contains security updates as disclosed in the Dell Security Advisory DSA-2023-113. For more information, see Dell Security Advisories and Notices. Fixed the issue where a yellow exclamation mark is displayed next to NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework in Device Manager. Fixed the issue where the system does not boot into the Preboot Execution Environment (PXE) from the Dell Dock WD19S. This issue occurs when you disable the Enable USB Boot Support option in the BIOS setup. So finally NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework case is closed and Intel Turbo Boost Maximum Technology 3.0 setting is removed from BIOS for ever.
  19. @iieeann did you manage to update the BIOS? If not use command line. It also creates log file. Precision_7X80_1.2.2.exe /? will show the options and few examples. Dell graphical BIOS interface has some problems since one month or more. In some cases it's impossible to type BIOS password because the text box is missing. But you connect with Remote Desktop to same device and then manage do the BIOS update. I know the pictures are from wrong model but the case is pretty much the same for all Dell Precision and Latitude what we have. Good old days when BIOS update was piece of cake. I did remove the service tag from all pictures. Blue windows top bar has not any text. No more model picture or previous BIOS version on the left Bitlocker warning text is just box with check mark This is my favorite. Simplified minimal interface. This maybe a best one. Just click the Update button below if you can find it.
  20. Turbo Boost 3 was not present in early BIOS versions so NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework did work without any problems. When Turbo Boost 3 is added to the BIOS settings it will be always active This breaks the NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework. Solution is always to disable Turbo Boost 3 and then later BIOS updates do not change any more the selected status. There is only "one" NVIDIA driver. You can't make Turbo Boost 3 and NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework work together at the same time in Dell Precision 7X60. In May there maybe a new BIOS version, which will remove Turbo Boost 3 setting from BIOS so we are back to where we started. When you disable Turbo Boost 3 you may see two NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework in Device Manager. One broken and one working OK. In this case I have removed the failed device. I have never experience any blue screen after disabling Turbo Boost 3. Personal track record is more than 50 devices. Usually There is just one working NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework after BIOS setting change. I use only Windows 10 with NVIDIA 527.25 downloaded from NVIDIA web portal in all Dell Precision devices. RTX Desktop Manager works like it should. In Dell version it's missing etc. Next NVIDIA driver version maybe 528.89, which supports ADA versions. Let's see when we get the first 7X80. I forgot one problem. Dell Command | Configure Application (DCC) does not support Turbo Boost 3 setting. So it's only manual work, if you want to use latest BIOS and disable Turbo Boost 3.
  21. New Realtek audio driver 6.0.9472.1, A46 really fix the problem, which was with the previous driver 6.0.9418.1, A19. Great jump from A19 to A46. Now the folder C:\Program Files\Waves has just one subfolder IntelOpenVINO. No more constant pending reboot state of bad audio driver. Fixes & Enhancements does not tell you anything about the fixed Vino problem or pending reboot case. - Fixed the issue where there is no audio from the external USB speaker. Dell Precision 7560 and 7760 are still missing the same audio driver fix. Intel Management Engine Components Installer has also a new driver 2302.4.5.0, A05. Do you install the driver in home environment?
  22. Question for Dell Precision 7670 and 7770 owners Few lines from BIOS Enable Intel Turbo Boost Maximum Technology 3.0 When enables a processor core running a high workload will perform at a higher frequency than the marked maximum turbo frequency of the processor package. Additionally, if supported it will disable Nvidia Dynamic Boost 2.0 This option is available when CPU has support for it. 1) Do you have Intel Turbo Boost Maximum Technology 3.0 activated in BIOS? 2) What is like this from factory or have you activated the setting by yourself? 3) NVIDIA System Information will show Dynamic Boost Yes / No 4) Device Manager - Software device - NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework is visible without warnings 5) type of CPU 6) type of GPU 7) BIOS version My setup 1) activated yes since 17th Feb 2023 2) No 3) Yes (It's still yes even it should be no => my CPU does not really support Turbo 3.0?) 4) Yes 5) i9-12950HX 6) RTX A4500 7) 1.18.0
  23. Hi, Thanks @anon272 Finally I think I understand the connection between NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework, Dynamic Boost 2.0 and Intel Turbo Boost Maximum Technology 3.0. Check your BIOS performance settings. Intel Turbo Boost Maximum Technology 3.0 must be OFF. I believe some previous BIOS version like 1.15.2 activated this setting. I have disabled the value and now NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework status is OK in Device Manager. I did remove the extra failed NVIDIA Platform Controllers and Framework from device manager after PC restart. Dynamic Boost 2.0 is now back to value Yes if you open System Information link from in NVIDIA Control Panel. I have not touched before Intel Turbo Boost Maximum Technology 3.0 BIOS setting in my 7X60 devices. I have not tested, which configuration will give the best performance with our CAD / FEM applications. I have a bit different results with Dell Precision 7X70 models even the BIOS Turbo 3.0 setting description is identical in both model families.
