  1. I have a question, is it better to have bios A11 unlocked or A15 unlocked for my laptop? Im currently running A15 unlocked. Can i downgrade to A11 OEM first then A11 unlocked?
  2. I have done some registry editing to try to reduce the black screen problem from happening. But now im getting code 43 on the quadro rtx 3000 when i boot into windows. So every time i get code 43 i have to restart the laptop. I don’t know if there is something i can do about it.
  3. Thank you very much. I flashed the vbios and the laptop boots normally. Then, i did get a black screen after a long sleep. Still haven’t tested after a cold boot. Chatgpt suggested disabling sleep and use hibernation instead. Still looking for other solutions.I got the UEFI box checked now but I don’t know if that will make a difference.
  4. I don’t know if I should flash a vbios that supports uefi. Because the current vbios 90.06.5F.00.32 in GPU-z shows unchecked uefi box. I’m not sure if this is the main problem that made the black screen happen every time i turn on the laptop
  5. I analyzed the crash dump with WinDbg. The system consistently crashes with DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (0x9F). The blocked power IRP belongs to my Quadro RTX 3000 (PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1F76&SUBSYS_05AB1028), serviced by nvlddmkm. The GPU is otherwise completely stable under load, PCIe x16 Gen3 works correctly, and Code 43 sometimes appears. The issue appears only during power-state transitions (sleep/wake and occasionally during boot).
  6. I turned it off and sometimes i get code 43 in device manager. Im Not really sure if it is a driver problem although it seems to be working fine.
  7. I’m looking for advice from anyone who has experience with Turing MXM GPUs in the Alienware M17x R4. My system Alienware M17x R4 BIOS: Unlocked A15+ v1.4 (mfractal & svl7) CPU: Intel i7-3940XM GPU: NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 MXM vbios (90.06.5F.00.32) Display: 1920×1080 60 Hz LVDS panel Windows 10 x64 NVIDIA Enterprise Driver 596.72 (modified INF) Current status The GPU works perfectly once Windows loads. No artifacts Stable in games PCIe x16 Gen3 works correctly (GPU-Z shows x16 3.0 under load) HDMI video works HDMI audio works after reinstalling the Intel HD Graphics package (Intel Display Audio) The problem I’m getting intermittent black screens. There are two scenarios: 1. Cold boot Sometimes after powering on: Alienware/Dell logo appears. Windows starts loading. Before reaching the login screen, the display goes completely black. Keyboard still responds (Caps Lock works). SSD activity LED continues blinking. The laptop is still running but nothing is displayed. Sometimes it eventually restarts by itself, sometimes I have to hold the power button. 2. Resume from sleep After waking from sleep: Screen stays black. Keyboard appears responsive. SSD activity continues. The system never recovers unless I force a shutdown. Things I’ve already tried Disabled Windows Fast Startup. Disabled hibernation. DDU and clean driver installs. Multiple NVIDIA driver versions. Updated Intel HD Graphics driver. PEG PCIe Link Speed set to Auto. Re-seated the MXM card. Code 43 Fixer (registry patch) resolved the intermittent Code 43 issue. Current BIOS configuration SG mode (Optimus) PEG does not work. If I switch to PEG, the laptop immediately gives 6 beeps during POST. As far as I know, PEG has never worked with this RTX 3000. Crash dump The crash dump consistently reports: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (0x9F) Failure Bucket: 0x9F_3_POWER_DOWN_nvlddmkm IMAGE_NAME: nvlddmkm.sys The GPU itself appears healthy: GPU-Z reports correct clocks. PCIe trains correctly. No crashes under gaming or stress testing. Once Windows boots successfully, everything works normally. This makes me think the issue is related to initialization or power management rather than a defective GPU. my question is has any one experienced similar black screens with turing MXM cards? Are there any bios settings that could improve SG stability?
  8. Hi i have an alienware m17x r4 with these specs: cpu : i7-3720QM gpu : GTX 765m ram : 8 gb Display : 60 hz Bios : A15 unlocked i want to upgrade the gpu to the RTX 3000 what i want to know is am i going to modify the heatsink ? And is it going to work perfectly after I install modded driver ? Quadro RTX 3000 https://www.ebay.com/itm/166412352810?_skw=nvidia+quadro+rtx+3000&itmmeta=01KQZKFG6VPPZGJP4XMGRVMR5X&hash=item26bef2fd2a:g:oiUAAOSwsMtlQ3z3&itmprp=enc%3AAQALAAAA8LB2JXbe%2Bh2pdWBqbR2c2DvyVdoOPO8zmz%2FIk9KWIQd%2Ffn%2Bt6vEkpbPbKcPgn7pWTkziensjxskBZXrBXU3x7FiSkOCz9srgVeWmum3E5u4XiEeGpKB3sYZ4ZIiOSminMCL4l383DtaXEkRLI3QmicXBvKLLkPvVI%2BNc%2FZcei6hR9XF8yJyyLWAf0LRTn6XwOnRQCSAqOOt8D8HuKW5antCTu5eCV%2FR20Dlpt1QTHfq59XLjsah%2Bx50zTzWdXcGsdpfXgLla%2FJuXXP8ZC35pZzp6GSDVMQwvZN0J2NffAFrsYNXmndJqX1WnuLlK6hY7YQ%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR8qDvvO_Zw
