ended up getting 64gb of ddr4 3200 venageance ram for free. I know its overkill but it was free so im hunky dorie. just wish I had money to get a 4tb storage drive for my laptop, 3tb gets filled up fast, for example I have 65-75 games installed all triple A games and I have used up the 2tb and 600gb of my 1 tb and there is still 100 or so games left to install. I think if you want all the good games at your finger tips 6tb is the perfect fit allowing you too have 1-2tb left for windows daily usage.

my parents live in a desert. and when I visit them the dust isn't an issue, but the static electricity is. I get zapped everytime I turn the lights on or off. as for computers, never had an issue. I just can't see it shorting a computer but you never know -
@Reciever can you combine this with @cylixs thread, I missed it. thanks a million

I have to agree. its like you have too be full skynet or bust. wheres the middle ground, its either one extreme or the other. I personally am hearing about AI in the light that jobs will be lost not nessessarily that ai will kill us off as a species. its kinda like having a chess move as a rookie and assuming no one else plays chess and every move you make is more calculated than anyone elses move..other people are more than capable of seeing ai for what it is.

lol yeah. I have this gigantic 55in tv 1 foot from my face, funny having to move head around just to see quadrants. but when Im gaming or multi tasking moving windows around can be quite convine.. gaming sometimes I want to be in the game(vr or full screen) other times i want to see the whole image without moving head so I set it to 1440p windowed, looks sharp and clear and is roughly 37in 1440p image. if i want 1600p i set change resolution in windowed mode.....you see the point right? its pretty convine..with 2 monitors you still have to move your head. and you have less space to work with...50in rectangle 40x20 vs 40x40...i know thats not the ratio just sayin. -

yeah I can always upgrade down the line. since im not rich(poor) it would be nice to buy a decent desktop and continually part it into a beast. I'll have two laptops if I want to couch surf or need to travel. also off topic. but starfield didn't have my interest until I found out it was by bethseda. then I watched a video on it, now im thinking this could be one of the best games to ever be created I just hope the graphics scale well. heres the video I watched, impressed me quite a bit I posted a topic in the gaming section if your interested, but come sept 6th it will be a good time to be a gamer and if it scales up a benchmarker -
Star field is only a hop skip and jump away. Its reportedly the biggest game to ever release and the good news is it has next gen graphics to enjoy the massive size of the game and it is made by one of the best game developers on the planet. recipe for success. I personally can't wait and ill be buying it pending how its recieved and heck even if its not what everyone expected ill probably still buy it as fun can be had in 99 percent of all games. here's a video of what you should know: Release date for what appears to be literally and figuratively out of this world Sep 6, 2023

Looks like ram was the culprit in spotty performance..glad I fixed the issue. Now it's time to hurry up and wait for the other stick -
if you want to push your setup and see something pretty buy download sniper elite 5..omfg the game looks phenomenal. another game is actually a benchmark it puts even the 4090 down. its the benchmark enemies. link incoming: Watch Enemies – State-of-the-art digital humans | Unity Demo

also when gaming I don't run at 162/300 because of overheating after 10 minutes. realistically not many laptop owners run max clocks for gaming for various reasons but heres my normal score for gaming. I undervolt and overclock a bit with cpu locked in at 3.9ghz vs 4.2ghz

I never got dual monitor setups. why not just buy a killer tv and do the same thing but with the option to have a full 16/9 when you need(gaming/movies). one advantage I see is higher pixel density with monitors as well as better response time so long as your not comparing to an oled -

where would you puy your parts/pc from if you lived in canada? I used memoryexpress.com s system builder you can customise the build completely and only costs 75 to build. but when I spec something its always around 3300. am I missing something or has the cost gone up dramatically? what would be the minimum cpu match for a future 4090 purchase. would a i5 12th gen work? Just got my 32gb stick and installed it in like 2 min. Performance mixing 8gb with 32gb is great. My time spy score went up 200 points. Just testing crysis to see if I get the same slow downs.. so far after 10 min it's golden...go figure. Never thought I would need more than 16gb..but then again I wasn't planning on 4k gaming -

yeah I know, when I bought this laptop I was thinking awesome. when I used the laptop I was thinking WTH why is it running so hot and under spec'd. Im getting a desktop I just don't know when. one huge drawback is the worth, now its only worth 700usd and iv'e got a few upgrades that costed(free) 80. I can't sell it for 780 as no one will buy it, if I could get 1000 id sell it and next payday get a desktop with a 3070 or better. and down the line upgrade to a 4090 dad bought me a gen 3 ssd, performance is very good. funny thing is, its faster than my gen 4 kioxia drive also bought a gift for someone, but its a secret, I dont want him knowing till it gets shipped
