  1. I would say there are no stability or warranty issues. The chip is exactly the same between different models if the A3000 is installed. The only issue you will encounter is that only 3 of the 4 Thunderbolt 4 ports will work for video output in the Windows system (Linux works perfectly). The 5770/5760 models have a vapor chamber installed, which has a high heat capacity to handle the graphics card working at 115 watts. Similar to the operations that have been done in the 7770 owners' thread (modifying voltage shift for BIOS settings), the vBIOS upgrade will not cause you to encounter warranty issues. At least for me, my 5760 was exchanged by the Dell support team for a 5770 with no argument regarding the vBIOS change.
  2. Having a quick search on other forum, Someone is able to convert DGFF to M.2 connector, it looks like the right DGFF is for PCIE x8 only, that is matched what I thought. On 7550, it has 3 DGFF connectors for x16 PCIe lanes, and on 7760, it has 2 DGFF connectors for x8 lanes, can confirm 1 DGFF is responsible for x8 data transfer, and 1 DGFF is responsible for other signals handling. They must customize some pinout that it can pass through the fan PWM signal.
  3. On the old 5770, the 65W limits can be unlocked by flashing 7770's 130W vBIOS, that what I did on 5760. However, I still haven't found shared vBIOS from 7770/7670
  4. If you look into the 5570 and 5770 lines, you will find they only provided 4 vRAM chips or 6 vRAM chips, however, RTX5000 requires 8 vRAM chips. That vRAM rows take a large area on the logic board, which would be the main factor the 5680 abandoned the SODIMM memory.

  6. Yes, it's thin chassis, since the GPU board is only soldered with 4 vRAM - which means 128 bitwidth -> A1000-A2000.
  7. I found they made a link for Precision 5480 but no 5580 nor 5780. Did they cancel the 15 and 17 inch 5000s😭 https://www.delltechnologies.com/asset/en-us/products/workstations/technical-support/precision-5480-spec-sheet.pdf
  8. I am looking for the vBIOS that comes with the Precision 7670/7770 to unlock the performance limit on my Precision 5770, which only has a 70W configuration in its vBIOS. I have only been able to find a vBIOS for the A3000 12G on the ThinkPad P1, but I believe that flashing it to my 5770 board may cause system errors.
  9. Dell exchanged my system and ordered a Precision 5770 for me to replace my old 5760. The vBIOS configuration on 5770 is 70Watt, I am looking for the vBIOS on Precision 7670/7770 with A3000 12G to unlock the limits on 5770. I cannot find it anywhere even on techpowerup. Is anyone willing to extract vBIOS?
  10. The new XPS 15/17 have 60Watt dGPU(including 4080), that would be a funny story if a 60Watt RTX5000Ada is on Precision 5000series
  11. https://www.delltechnologies.com/asset/en-us/products/workstations/technical-support/precision-7780-spec-sheet.pdf https://www.delltechnologies.com/asset/en-us/products/workstations/technical-support/precision-7680-spec-sheet.pdf Looks like the spec pdf exists there (Not 404 error), but no permission to access the files.
  12. The poor thermal performance is not only shown on Aaron’s unit. An earlier 7770 unboxing from a Chinese forum, Chiphell.com also reflects poor cooling performance. ~6300 multi-core performance in CPU-z with a i7-12850HX installed and around 5000 GPU score in TIME SPY with A3000 installed. The A3000 installed on Precision5760 can reach around 8500 level. The performance is throttled due to the thermal limit as the GPU hotspot has reached over 80 Celsius degree. The TGP is actively limited to 55 watts simultaneously. I am guessing the new heat sink design does not fit to these high end chips, and the to re-paste the thermal paste won’t really make a huge change. btw, PTM7950sp is a good choice for laptop heat sink. I am hoping Dell can apply vapor chamber heat sink like 5000 series did in the next generation 7000series MWS…
  13. These scores are not as high as what HX series should be. I got 13338 multicore score on my precision 5760. There should be a huge improvement on multi-core as intel advertised.
  14. https://www.chiphell.com/thread-2431029-1-1.html, the smaller one comes with the 7770, the larger one comes with previous models
  15. Amazing! Congratulation that you have received your new laptop, and thanks for sharing your experience. I am hoping to see more performance analysis from you. From the link you posted, the results are not public due to some reason, can you post some screenshots?
  16. According to the Dell Rep in China, the order can be offically ordered on June 7th and the factory will also accept order on that day. I believe 7x70 will be available in all market on the same day.
  17. DOO really helps SSD and palm rest cooling, for my 5760, the SSDs (Dual SN850 @PCIe4.0 x4) keep at 25-30 celsius degrees at low workload. I got this image from Also, see this file https://www.delltechnologies.com/asset/en-us/products/workstations/industry-market/precision-thermals-brief-042320.pdf, more desciption relating to DOO system in Precision 5000 series This file is more about Precision 5750, in fact, 5750 5760 5770 share the same cooling system design with minor changes in CPU and GPU layout on the motherboard.
  18. I got a quote from Dell. 19. Interesting. The Precision 7760/7560 Spec sheet also eliminated the Geforce 3080 option, however, this dGPU option can be definitely purchased by CTO options. [Edit] - Online CTO page may not have the Graphics option with 3080, the 3080 option can be ordered by Dell representatives.
  20. China's lockdown has influenced the logistic, and now Dell posts a sort of caution on the order page: "Thank you for your order. The current lockdown in China is restricting logistics and delaying order deliveries. The tracking number for your order will not become active until the system arrives in your country. This may take up to 30 days. Please check back here for the most up-to-date information on your tracking. We apologize for any delays and appreciate your patience." My Precision 5760 has an exchange order due to the lack of service parts, and the new device was ordered on Apr 26th and shipped on May 4. It's still on the way to Canada. The arrival ETA is May 30. That's way too long.
