  1. https://www.delltechnologies.com/asset/en-us/products/workstations/technical-support/precision-7780-spec-sheet.pdf https://www.delltechnologies.com/asset/en-us/products/workstations/technical-support/precision-7680-spec-sheet.pdf Looks like the spec pdf exists there (Not 404 error), but no permission to access the files.
  2. The poor thermal performance is not only shown on Aaron’s unit. An earlier 7770 unboxing from a Chinese forum, Chiphell.com also reflects poor cooling performance. ~6300 multi-core performance in CPU-z with a i7-12850HX installed and around 5000 GPU score in TIME SPY with A3000 installed. The A3000 installed on Precision5760 can reach around 8500 level. The performance is throttled due to the thermal limit as the GPU hotspot has reached over 80 Celsius degree. The TGP is actively limited to 55 watts simultaneously. I am guessing the new heat sink design does not fit to these high end chips, and the to re-paste the thermal paste won’t really make a huge change. btw, PTM7950sp is a good choice for laptop heat sink. I am hoping Dell can apply vapor chamber heat sink like 5000 series did in the next generation 7000series MWS…
  3. These scores are not as high as what HX series should be. I got 13338 multicore score on my precision 5760. There should be a huge improvement on multi-core as intel advertised.
  4. https://www.chiphell.com/thread-2431029-1-1.html, the smaller one comes with the 7770, the larger one comes with previous models
  5. Amazing! Congratulation that you have received your new laptop, and thanks for sharing your experience. I am hoping to see more performance analysis from you. From the link you posted, the results are not public due to some reason, can you post some screenshots?
  6. According to the Dell Rep in China, the order can be offically ordered on June 7th and the factory will also accept order on that day. I believe 7x70 will be available in all market on the same day.
  7. DOO really helps SSD and palm rest cooling, for my 5760, the SSDs (Dual SN850 @PCIe4.0 x4) keep at 25-30 celsius degrees at low workload. I got this image from Also, see this file https://www.delltechnologies.com/asset/en-us/products/workstations/industry-market/precision-thermals-brief-042320.pdf, more desciption relating to DOO system in Precision 5000 series This file is more about Precision 5750, in fact, 5750 5760 5770 share the same cooling system design with minor changes in CPU and GPU layout on the motherboard.
  8. I got a quote from Dell. 9. Interesting. The Precision 7760/7560 Spec sheet also eliminated the Geforce 3080 option, however, this dGPU option can be definitely purchased by CTO options. [Edit] - Online CTO page may not have the Graphics option with 3080, the 3080 option can be ordered by Dell representatives.
  10. China's lockdown has influenced the logistic, and now Dell posts a sort of caution on the order page: "Thank you for your order. The current lockdown in China is restricting logistics and delaying order deliveries. The tracking number for your order will not become active until the system arrives in your country. This may take up to 30 days. Please check back here for the most up-to-date information on your tracking. We apologize for any delays and appreciate your patience." My Precision 5760 has an exchange order due to the lack of service parts, and the new device was ordered on Apr 26th and shipped on May 4. It's still on the way to Canada. The arrival ETA is May 30. That's way too long.
  11. The Dell sales representative gave me that discount directly as I asked him/her to give me the quoted price based on my given specs. I even didn't haggle over the price. The product is really over-priced (Double), they assumed that you will contact with Dell rep and get the discount. This really makes the consumer think the discount is huge. "Amazing discount, take my wallet and swipe my card🙃"
  12. That speed is really interesting, you can also check on some Precision desktop model with the 12th gen intel, the 128G memory all run @3600Mhz. Precision Tower 3660 spec sheet
