GE76 with 18" QHD 240hz 500nits 😆 🤣 😂 😹
Rengsey R. H. Jr. replied to Rengsey R. H. Jr.'s topic in Custom Builds
Original screen on my GE76 was 144hz .. standard edp 40 pin 0.5 pitch. So I used the same video cable. Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/304854303992?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=9GkOi_YNSES&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=Qnh9JmzTQ_K&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Its listed for $288 shipped, but make an offer for $250. I'm in US so it took a little bit over a week. Its a really beautiful screen. -
Did you guys see my GE76 with the new 18" QHD 240hz 500nitz screen in the custom build thread?

What is the highest speed memory available now? I can't find anything faster than 5600mhz. -
You would need the GTX 1080 originally from a GT83 and the matching heat sink ( GTX 1080 from GT73/75 is not compatible ) This is the GTX 1080 you want to buy. https://www.ebay.com/itm/155298876927?hash=item242888cdff:g:PqgAAOSwdbJjkhVy&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoP8%2B%2Bl%2BXAdc%2FCob8bo3cuy%2FvLuAAThD9t5HvL6DlhOiZQsI1NBuDFS1S75V8gqgQglm2hc9qbHqbyE8s8SI68rzFDC0eE4NWuwPeUpNs6hvF%2BmPXDafrx1vN1sMWxCbfWg%2FpnCJU7rLxBqIwr1l0SKMXwIKs%2FDqzuUbxdg6DjDVHX3GLq890De8XZo5gMZUdFem2L6vgkvDoNWDP8u0mmM4%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4CO-anTYQ The heat sink would be hard to find.

OK. So I finally got a high end AMD card in a EGPU. The card runs fine without crashing the laptop or blue screen. Conclusion , Alienware probably blacklist egpu RTX graphic cards from working or the other thing that I can think of is when you run a RTX in the egpu , it cause conflict with the RTX DGPU that is already running in the laptop. BTW , I am running an OEM Liquid Cooled Asrock RX 6900 XT, yes .. it's an OEM model.

New Alienware 18 is coming...
Rengsey R. H. Jr. replied to DarginMahkum's topic in Alienware 18 and M18x
I am definitely picking up this model myself. Even though it is not upgradeable , there is always EGPU to go along with the new beast. I am still happy with my current Area 51M R2.
