  1. I’m still in discussion with Dell trying to find the cause for this issue. Can I please ask someone with one of these 18inch machines to check if you experience the following: While plugged in and any type of music or video streaming with audio is playing, and you switch power modes, does the speakers make a very slight buzzing noise for a split second every time you change the power mode? You’ll have to listen very carefully for the buzzing noise, it’s not very loud.
  2. Thanks for the feedback. When you experience the buzzing speaker issue, could you check if the Intel Gpu's usage shows a spike in task manager ?
  3. Thanks, I'm planning on contacting them tomorrow. I've even tried reinstalling Windows 11 and installing Windows 10 with no resolution to the problem.
  4. I recently received my Pro Max 18 Plus, but I’ve been experiencing several persistent issues: The system freezes for a few seconds whenever it switches between the Nvidia Optimus and Intel graphics cards. When streaming video, it periodically freezes for half a second or longer and emits a buzzing sound through the speakers. During these moments, Intel GPU usage spikes noticeably in Task Manager, and the display occasionally goes black for a second or two. Most concerning, the machine freezes and crashes several times a day. It usually begins with the same freezing and buzzing issue, after which the screen goes black. Audio from the video that was playing continues intermittently, but the system never recovers. I have to perform a hard reset each time. I’ve already run multiple hardware diagnostics, but no issues were detected. Any suggestions what I could try? My specs are: Intel 285HX RTX PRO 4000 64gb CSODIMM RAM
  5. I’m trying to decide between the memory options for the Dell Pro Max 18 Plus. From my workload, I’ve found that 96 GB RAM is the sweet spot. That leaves me with two possible upgrade paths: 128 GB CAMM2 96 GB CSoDIMM (2×48 GB) I’m leaning toward the 96 GB CSoDIMM route since it’s much more cost-effective. But I’m wondering: aside from the extra 32 GB capacity, does CAMM2 offer any practical advantages I’d actually notice in real use? Both configurations would be running at DDR5-6400 MT/s. Would there be any benefit in terms of performance, stability, or future-proofing by going CAMM2 instead of CSoDIMM?
  6. I recently bought myself the 4k 120hz replacement panel for my dell 7770 with a full hd display. Everything works perfectly fine but I can’t get the machine to pick up the 120hz refresh rate setting in the windows/intel/nvidia settings menus. Is there a way for me to activate it so I can use the high refresh rate panel at 120hz?
  7. Thank you for the advice. Forgot to ask one more things. Whilst playing around with the insides of my 7760 i ended up losing one of the base cover screws. Do you perhaps know what the specs are for these screws? In the service manual it only lists them as captive screws. Evidently not very captive after all.
  8. Hi, I have another upgrade question. If I have two 7760 machines with the following specs: Machine 1: i7 processor, 1080p screen Machine 2: i5 processor, 4k screen. Can I interchange the processors and/or screens in order to end up with an i7 machine with 4k processor and i5 machine with 1080p screen?
  9. I have a query regarding swapping parts between a dell 7760 and 7560. Would I be bale to swap the graphics cards and CPU of the two machines? The 7560 has better specs although it runs hotter, i would like to see if I can get better thermal performance from the higher spec parts in the 17 inch machine. I also prefer using the larger machine. The specs are as follows: 7760: CPU: i7 11850H GPU: RTX A3000 7560: CPU: W-11955M GPU: RTX A5000
