What is your CPU VDDQ voltage for DDR5 7200 XMP?

1.4v both in bios.

I haven’t tested lower but 1.15v VCCSA and 1.3v vdd/IMC. Again at BIOS, as actual is a bit lower.

DDR4 is absolutely a lot better than it was with 12900K and KS. It would not even POST at 4400 before.

Wow some can’t even boot 4266. That’s crazy good IMC then.

You’ve got a good IMC for sure. I guess that also translates to DDR5 as well? You may just need some Hynix A-Die for full potential. But this cpu alone will probably give you a little more head room with your really good Hynix M die ram.

Well, Unify-X is down again... Started with a USB device drawing to much power and would turn off after 15 seconds. Did that for about 10 tries to get it to boot with nothing plugged in and then it went to - - in the lcd display. Not exactly sure what I did this time as I was benching at the time. Time will tell if it gets replaced or thrown in the gutter and do not buy another....

RMA has already been issued....

DDR5 7400 is literally SCREAMING! Take a listen. I’ve always had these sounds, but not one this COOL!!

Mine does that also, but I thought it was coming from the board as I had a chance to rule out psu and gpu.

Yeah it’s the motherboard making the sound. The memory just triggers it some how I guess.

Are you having a problem with Windows 10 or only Windows 11 with the USB issue? I don't know if you saw my post the other day, but when I flashed the updated bios for 13900K something went haywire with Windows 11. None of the USB ports worked anymore. I used a PS/2 mouse and keyboard to navigate and tried numerous things. I could not find the cause or fix the problem. It did not affect Windows 7 or Windows 10. Shutting down would hang.

When I attempted an in-place upgrade/install as a possible solution, it repeatedly failed. Since I could not resolve it, I ended up having to clean install Windows 11. No idea why, but it is very weird.

I found the slow down in Windows 11, Core Isolation was enabled somehow. 😏

This single setting stole away an entire +1 bin in cpu performance and some extra on top..

I ran memory read again, and it’s 120,650Mb bandwidth. 😁 DDR5 Is INSANE!! OMG

No, I think you nailed it. With this board I can clearly here it coming from the memory as my ear is like 1/2 away. lol

Hmm, my Windows 11 crashed real hard on the first attempt to boot with the new BIOS. It froze and then blue-sceened at the logon screen with the spinning circle and I could not power down. Had to turn off the PSU. Never worked right again after that. All of the USB ports were dead in Windows 11, but not in the BIOS or Windows 7 or 10.

Microsoft fixes Windows vulnerable driver blocklist sync issue

Disabling the driver blocklist
Microsoft also says that starting with the Windows 11 2022 update (version 22H2), the blocklist is enabled by default on all devices.

"Blocking drivers can cause devices or software to malfunction. In rare cases, it leads to a stop error," Microsoft warned on Tuesday. "There is no guarantee that the blocklist will block every driver that has weaknesses."

I got through R23 at 6Ghz P-Cores, 4.5Ghz E-Cores, and 5.1Ghz Cache, with only 1.360V 😃

@365 watts peak ..package temps were still like 80C, imagine this CPU with a delid.

Screenshot inbound and coming. I had to power off my PC and let it dry real quick though.

The bottom was fine I'm sure. All that water on the top just looks real SCURRY, so I turned the PC off. I can't afford to burn anything up.

Anyways, here is 6Ghz P-cores, 4.5Ghz E-Cores, 5.1Ghz Cache. Almost had 44K.. I didn't change the priority of R23 like a doofus. I feel like this CPU has some real potential though.

44,270 in Cinebench R23 (This time no condensation, and a lot warmer water) Overclocking the E-Cores more did the trick easily. Honestly, since the new cold plate things have totally changed!

Nice job! These chips are crazy, still a decent amount of tweaking left in the thank for those that go looking for it.

Seems the bend might not be the issue, but rather the failure of the user to fully seat the cable.

I backed my sticks down to 7200 on my Hero, mostly so I could keep voltages down. I like 1.3v max for IMC, unfortunately on most CPUs that does mean lower stable memory clocks. 7200 runs great though.

My Dark Z690 is honestly more trouble than my Hero board with high memory OC. I don’t get it. Asus worked some magic in recent bios that allows for much higher memory OC on a 4x dimm board.

Also I saw that those 7600 sticks were in stock at a few MC this morning but I’m debating still if I really want more DDR5 laying around

Well, you know me.... Mine was an upgrade price so I jumped all over it. Now buying out right, I might have waited on them.

They work great on the Unify-X board so technically I'm cool. Although they worked on the Strix gaming board.🤦‍♂️

Edit:

You are right though I like the lower voltages as well so i will back the speed down and lower voltage. I like the fact that I don't have to go above 1.4 volts as well for vdimm

My XMP 7200 is stable but that’s with auto auto SA/IO voltages, which seem really high.

My manual settings of lowering the SA/IO voltages instantly crashed in game. So I need to slowly dial them back and see where it’s good at.

Yeah I thought it was my cpu at first lol. It was clocked fairly high, or maybe even my really high tREFI. But it wasn’t either of those things.

I reset bios and started fresh with XMP 7200 auto everything else, and it’s good to go. I jacked up memory frequency to even 7400 and it was still good to go.

So far It’s either CPU SA voltage too low, or CPU VDDQ/VDD voltage being too low I’m thinking. I dropped SA to 1.150 and it wasn’t good. I did 1.300 SA and it’s stable. Now to slowly lower the others.
