WVP. I ordered the WVP2, but not sure when that will show up. Maybe.... I also noticed my ram was supper sketchy with it plugged in as well. -

ugh, so I get the matrix bios installed and then my card starts to black screen. Wont complete any test. Pin variation is off by 3.5 mv between pin 1 and pin 6. I try multiple cables and different bios files and nothing. Was about ready to take the card back when I decided to disconnect the wireview pro and try again. Guess what? No more black screen or 3.5mv pin variation. What a nightmare. -

I just tested it to see and yep. Trash. All that noise about wanting the XOC bios and it's just as I suspected. Give people the warm and fuzzy's so they can say I pulled 1200W from the wall, but yet....nothing else to show for it. -

Hummmm.... Well I do have my water block, I was just trying to make sure I have a better sample to start with than I did the first time around. I'll probably do the evc2, resistor and shut mods later today, then block the card back up. Did anyone manage to get the software that goes with these vbios files? -

I would say it is hitting 3412 at 40C right now. I was shunted with evc2 on my first card, but it didn't seem to be a very good overclocker. 18K https://www.3dmark.com/sn/6448799 I was using the gig vbios on my last Astral. Hummm, now that does sound interesting. Any vbios. I'll read up on it. A few reasons why. A white card would have cost me roughly another $1200. They did not have a white one instock. My direct replacement was using my MC warranty claim instead of having Asus attempt to fix whatever the issue was. When I bought my card it was $3399.99 at the time. It is currently $3899.99. And that took me a few months to catch MC with an Astral instock. When they had like 25+ my card was still sort of working. No white one at this time. Although I didn't even know about the resistor issue as I had not been keeping up on the overclocking for the last 6 months or so. -

So, are any of these unlocked vbios files any good or just bs. Meaning they are unlocked, but the way they are unlocked they just boost power to the moon and no real efficiency gains with true voltage control? The same problem people had back in the day where it looks good, but no meaningful performance increase. -

Hummmm, did not try using gpuz only tried with SN. Let me give that a try. Edit: 460/3000 as i did not unlock the higher memory -

Stock vbios is 430-core/3000-memory. 440 core crashes, but then it's room temp so not sure if that would allow for higher. Not trying for high scores or anything like that, only testing for highest offset. Voltage is a max of 1.0950. I think my last card was a max of 1.0850 stock voltage. And it did not do anywhere near 430 if i'm not mistaken. I think 375 to 380 was the best it did. I would have to go back and try to hunt down what I posted about it. -

Question: So I'm trying to see if this card is actually a good one or just average. This is on stock vbios. I'm just trying to see how high the clocks go without doing anything different other than using stock over clocking and max fans at room temp. https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/155744382 -

@Papusan Also, this is the time for your country to shine as you can now say.... "Welcome to our world!" You now have prices better than the USA. After so many years where this was not the case. 🤣 -

https://www.microcenter.com/search/search_results.aspx?fq=category:SSD+(Solid+State+Drives)|512&sortby=pricehigh Prices are pretty crazy in California right now. Good to see you all! It has been a long while. Now wondering if this card is any good.... -

Not sure, but all SSD prices have increased by at least 200% to 300% Now that remains to be seen....The week has just started.🙂 indeed. We had been stocking up as well. It's replacing my last Astral. It had been going straight to black screen every time I tried to run a benchmark. My problem was trying to catc Microcenter with A card in stock. Right now they are selling for $3899.99. $600 above what I paid for it. -

So I was in Microcenter the other day to get me a shiny new Astral 5090 replacement and I see this on the rack for $2700 https://www.microcenter.com/product/698807/samsung-9100-pro-8tb-samsung-v-nand-tlc-nand-(v8)-pcie-gen-5-x4-nvme-m2-internal-ssd That use to cost $800. -

You do know Asrock is a spinoff from Asus right? But anyway, I have the one from Asus. WRX90E/Pro 7975WX (Because they say the 9000 series is slower) and this thing takes forever to boot on a cold boot. It sits on 0D for way longer than what I think it should and sometimes longer than 8 minutes before i just hit restart and then it boots hella fast! The machine has a full 256GB memory installed and all channels are full. Also installed are 2 RTX A6000. This was built for AI as well. Just wondering if you ran into any of these problems on the Asrock version as I think their bios is coded differently (Speculations of course) -

Furmark must be unlocked or something for FE as mine will under no circumstances go higher that 625W@4K and 950W@1080P -

Hummm, 1100W from an FE seems pretty high.... Here is one of mine ran on my gaming drive. It does not come close to what GPUZ reads up top -

johnksss replied to Mr. Fox's topic in Desktop Hardware
okay. And did you check the "actual mohm" value before you put the card back together? If 1100W is to be believed, then you should show about 1400W+ from the wall. Edit: Depending on your voltage on the rails. Lets say 11.8V. And your amps, lets say 95A. That's what would be needed for 1100+ watts. Not counting loss. -

When you did the shunt mod, did you double it or did you use a different mohm for a different value? -

As long as the connector is below 100C+ you should be fine. I have mine set for 70C(Using Wireview Pro), but it sits in the 30's to 40's range, but as @Papusan has mentioned before... Mine needs a fan pointed at the connector. -

Well my friend, we all here DO think you are the man for the job! Take your time, figure it out. We have nothing but time and we trust you will crack it or be the one sitting on top when then dust clears for the FE. We have faith! Wish you still had your KS setup, then we would have a better understanding, but we work with the cards we are dealt until a new hand arises. -

It would appear you didn't have a chance while the card was on air either. (This is called being petty and didn't need to be said. Hoping you start to understand what I'm getting at.) No EVC and no water cooling. This whole scenario was not what I was looking for. Not even close. I was genuinely hoping to see you push the card using your skillset. A brother from notebooktalk showing the rest of the world how the 5090FE runs in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing. That way we know it's true potential. To many folks not knowing how to overclock or setup OS's or have the right tools for the job. That's what I was looking for. Not all the excuses on why you can't beat other AIB cards. That wasn't even the topic of discussion. And the fact that you keep throwing around how much you paid for your card and water block. Is just kind of crazy my friend. I can reword that whole downplaying of how much you spent into a completely different light, but I choose not to. I don't do my friends like that. I'm not here to clown, just want to know what the card can do from someone I trust. That's it. No hidden agendas. -

Somehow I knew you were going to say something just like that.... My excuse list: On air!! No LM!! No Waterblock!! No Chiller!! 24C hotter!! Lower overall core speed!! Room temp 95F https://www.3dmark.com/compare/sn/7094707/sn/6056923# I had a long write up on why 32C vs 32C was a really bad idea, but i erased it all. -

Now where is @tps3443 ? I've been waiting for him to get his block and shunt going so we can see what the 5090FE is "supposed" to do. Edit: Now, I am standing here tapping my foot impatiently, waiting.😂 -

Brother TPS wasn't with us back when we use to have conference calls with Dell to make the M18X 1 and 2 better? When they blocked us and locked all back doors? Then asked to chat some more about the A18X2 after they locked the A18X1? Or with Clevo and Sager when Clevo shut down Sager trying to help us get mods implemented?
