Colorful Intros COLORFIRE MEOW Laptop Series Inspired by Cats

COMPUTEX

At Computex 2024, Colorful has followed the success of their popular COLORFIRE MEOW Series gaming desktops. The company has unleashed two fierce new gaming laptops - the COLORFIRE MEOW R15 and R16. These portable laptops are adorned with designs inspired by Bobi, COLORFIRE's beloved office cat. From paw print patterns to a sleek orange tabby color scheme, the laptops are littered with feline flair. Under the cat-inspired hood, the MEOW laptops pack a serious punch. They are equipped with the latest AMD Ryzen 8000 Series processors tailored for gaming, content creation, and entertainment. AMD Ryzen AI technology provides a boost to artificial intelligence capabilities. Both run on the AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor with eight cores, 16 threads, and a 5.1 GHz maximum boost clock. The Ryzen AI engine delivers up to 39 TOPS for accelerated AI performance. For graphics, the laptops feature up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU with 140 W of power.

Hmmmm. Inspired by kitties? I don't think so. Kitties are cute and all that, but that's for wusses and mama's-boys.

I prefer computers to be inspired by weapons of mass destruction and a bone-crushing fear of the apocalypse.

Well, I finally got the aqua bios to verify. I'm sick of tearing the waterblock off this thing, so hopefully the bios is all good now. Just need to put it together, and try it.

@Raiderman newest Adrenalin drivers from AMD blasted my 7600x fsb OC into the stars. All I get is artifacts at 2200 now. If I roll back to the older drivers everything works. I can disable the integrated graphics and just use the 7900xtx, but whatever tightening there is in the newest, integrated at 2200 is a no go.

Newest are a must as they finally fixed WoW and with RT off, performance is actually pretty good! Looking forward to running some new benchmark runs to finish collecting baseline data before the 7600x/7900xtx OC commences.

The Green winter have started here home. From 1. June and until now the weather have been equal disgusting as much of the new tech we have seen from Computex 2024. Nice and chilly 6-8C, wind, rain and hailstorms. Nice living so high up in the North. Awful! Equal awful as.... The stupid new design solution below from AssRock. Disgusting!

And, they probably think having no USB Type-A port is something they should be proud of.

Only, Type-C? Throw out all of your Type-A USB devices? Or, use an adapter for everything?
So, that is the solution? Hmmmm...

Finally have EK engineers seen the lighs.... That's good. Maybe start lowering the disgusting prices so maybe many older customers will come back. I expect this turn around also will reduce EK's inventory. One of the main reasons they almost went to Hell.

EK Shows New EK-Quantum Velocity³ CPU Block, and the New EK-PRO AIO at Computex 2024

€226.81 = $247.12 USD🤢 With the EK delidder the total price will be $320.17 - if I buy it here... Add the well known Norwegian 25% tax + current exchange on top.... Total price. I'll give it double🤢🤢

Here's more info about AssRock's idiotic move.... Only drawbacks and zero gains. You like stupid changes only for the change, bro @Rage Set? All this new reminds me all too much what happened with laptops and why I hated it so much. Apple and Alienware was the trendsetters with dongles because of the lack of needed I/O ports. Seeing desktops going the same way is sad to see.

The purpose of the cute 12VHPWR connector and the conceptually less failure-prone variant that followed was to reduce the cost of producing the most expensive GPUs ever sold to maximize their record-setting profits. If anyone thinks this ridiculous and fragile joke connector was utilized to enhance the quality or function of the products that included it, I have some beautiful ocean beach property on the east side of Phoenix for sale that might be of interest to them.

Nvidia domination is absolutely scary but when you truly have the superior overall product stack what else can you do?

I have all types of love for AMD and I'm a big fan of their GPUs and especially their CPUs but Nvidia is just dominant to the point AMD not only admitted their 7900xtx was competing against the 4080 not 4090 but next gen is a slight regression while they try to right their proverbial ship and get ready to compete the next gen after. We won't even see AMDs mid tier cards now till 2025 according to reports along with Intel.

Nvidia has just steadily (with dips here and there) continued to suck up market share with their products and AMD is definitely on the downturn after that bright moment of the 6000 series briefly touching the sun and on par with the 3090/3090ti in pure raster. Nvidia then just pursed their lips and put the boot on AMD's neck with 4000 and said, "it's showtime."

I'm enjoying playing around with this 7900xtx and it packs a good punch in pockets and can even compete in moments, but the 4090 is just a juggernaut and the 4080 Super made it really hard to pick a 7900xtx when all is said and done.

I have some beautiful ocean beach property on the east side of Phoenix for sale that might be of interest to them.

Speaking of this place... It's not even close to summer weather yet. If you have ever heard the expression "dryer than a popcorn fart" this is what it means. Today's high will be the overnight low in a few more weeks.

No need to worry about condensation using the chiller. There ain't nothing to condense, LOL. 🤣

I guess that's a saving grace when living in "hell on earth", you can get nice cold temps with the chiller, and no condensation 🤣

Thanks bro Fox🙂

It seems I won the Matrix 980Ti  lottery🙂 The asic score is 81.5%. On top I won the vram lottery and got Samsung vram🙂

The card looks in very good shape. But the card need a re-paste. Remember the card in unopened (never re-pasted) and the card is 9 years old.

The only I have access to. Conductive metal tape. But I need a real LN2 vbios. Have one saved that I will try flash later.

A very huge and heavy card. But still below half the weigt vs my 4090 HOF

Edit. Flashed the recommended 900W vbios

Edit. @Mr. Fox How is this even possible? Asus bin their best 980Ti Matrix Platinum cards from mid 60% Asic and upwards. I got asic 81.5% and Samsung while others get the pure bottom trash and loads of Matrix cards come with with Hynix.

Looks like NO GPUs this year potentially from all three which does kind of make sense especially if AMD and Intel are not bringing anything to market this year there is zero reason for Nvidia to release the 5000 series this year. Still in the rumor stage so we will see.

I really hope that is true. It would be kind of nice to see nobody release anything for two or three years. Just keep selling what they already have. CPU and GPU. Maybe then more people would pull their heads out and realize they don't actually need anything new because what we already have is more than good enough, and what comes next will cost more and probably not be as good in some ways. The tech world is long overdue for a healthy depression/reset and having them take a "chill pill" would be nice. They could use the "time out" to clean up some of their sloppy messes from rushing half-baked crap to market.

Nvidia is selling to the AI sector hand over fist and their orders are backed up for months if not years. They can take their foot off the gas a bit and really extend and clear out the 4000 series till 2025 easily. It gives consumers some breathing room too.

With market conditions as they are in the consumer sector, Nvidia dominating all over the place and AMD basically giving up this time around it does make sense.

Only scenario I could possibly (even if ever so slight) see Nvidia launching the 5090 only as by reports it will be the card that has true separation from the 4000 series including the 4090. The 5080 is rumored to be weaker than the 4090 or at best on par which would be a bummer. Everything then devolves into a cross-over crapfest between 4000 and 5000 on a level as bad if not worse than 3000 and 4000.

Launch  5000 level AI, Launch halo 5090, keep things the same below it for 4-6 months if not longer since there is zero competition to fully extract maximum value from Ada. Wait for AMD and Intel to fire their salvos. Respond with destructive glee as always....

Speculation of the highest tier of course....(channeling my inner @johnksss 🤣)

I agree. This is probably an unpopular opinion but i dont think we need much performance gains especially with games over reliant on DLSS, FSR, XeSS and the use of framegen aka fake frames these days instead of raw performance, hell you can add FSR 3 frame gen mod to make any non 40 series GPU to use it. Also most people dont have a 4k monitor. The use of GDDR7 would help but sadly the 50 series will be very expensive including for laptops too

Here the latest steam survey for May:

The RTX 3060 is still most popular GPU and in 2nd place again the GTX 1650 and followed by the RTX 3060ti.
