Absolutely on the Taichi. I still find myself dropping it in my buy basket on newegg. If I didn't snag this Powercolor 7900xtx for $720 shipped complete when all was said and done, I would have grabbed one by now. I'm still thinking of selling the Powercolor and grabbing the Asrock Taichi 7900xtx white edition. 🙂

Looking forward to seeing some magic brother @Raiderman !

I opened up theAssus Matrix 980Ti. Not very impressed over the paste job done by Asus for their overprice flagship card. As well see what Asus offer of binning for their flagship. What's wrong with Asus? Going cheapo for the binning. Thermal paste job done by blind monkeys. And Asus can't even afford cooling for the vram for their gaming flagship. Weird Asus is still in the tech top.

Every new gen of Asus hardware have some major flaws. Something is very good and something is very bad. Flagship products shouldn't have major flaws. Their culture can't be changed over night. All too much is wrong.

cleaned of the damn hard paste. Loads of cleaner and Grizzly's Acetone thermal remover.

The card have never been opened. But see ing scratches like this is not someting I see everyday on my older hardware. Imean I have never seen such. Two deep scratch blobs/dents in the heatpipe, scratches on the die and on the PCB  traces. Yup, we talk about Asus upper best flagship product @Mr. Fox I'm maybe nitpicky, but I expect better than this. I have graphics cards from so called cheap brand and cheapest SKUs... But come like this.

All this is from lack of quality control.

That is just wonderful news, brother. I'm so happy that it worked out exactly like you wanted. Not only did you get your GPU working again, but you got the vBIOS working that it should have had from the factory.

Nope, I already have the equivalent of that from ASUS and I refuse to use it. I do not want Gen5 because I want my GPU to run at Gen4 x16. If you put Gen5 in an x16 slot with a card like that the GPU will not run full speed. It will drop to x8. Plus, NVMe Gen3 speeds are good enough for me. Even the very first generation of NVMe is good enough for me. I don't care about drive speeds after Gen3. The faster speeds of Gen4 and Gen5 NVMe do not matter to me. The only way I would want it is if nothing else had to be compromised as a trade-off. None of the compromises or trade-offs are worth it. I would want one of those MSI cards if it was x1 or x4, but not x16. I have a Sabrent PCIe x4 quad NVMe card and it is awesome.

That is very sad, but also not surprising. ASUS is not a good company and, as far as I know, they never have been. If they ever were a good company it was sometime before I purchased my first ASUS ROG motherboard. They sucked before everyone discovered they do.

Eperienced same/similar problem with theMatrix as in the videos. Asus quality and QC sucks. Read the comments. The second fan for my Matrix won't start. Not even if you force the fans at 100% speed. No more time fiddle with this now. The Matrix will be a fall/winter project for me. Yup.... Asus you sucks.

Hmmm. New has to be better, LOOL @ryan😁

AMD's first processors sporting the Zen 5 architecture, the company's Ryzen 9000 desktop CPUs, will go on sale next month, in July. There's been some question over whether people already rocking Zen 4 processors with 3D V-Cache, those being Ryzen 7000X3D series chips, should consider upgrading....

And it won't stop😁 Yup, nvidia and PCI Sig to blame for this.... Most of the owners of the $2000 USD cards have to pay the repair from own pocket. Nice. I hope there will come a class action against Nvidia. But it's probably too late now. And.... Yes, Asus oh Asus🤢

The GeForce RTX 4090 remains the king of the hill in the consumer GPU realm and it will stay that way until NVIDIA gets around to launching its next-gen Blackwell lineup, which will presumably include a GeForce RTX 5090. Not without its warts, however, the RTX 4090 is a pricey card (nothing unusual about that)

Seems like all of the junk he is working on came from ASUS, LOL. And, I don't see any mention of Cablemod or adapters melted in place in these videos lately. We know the adapters didn't help, but it seems clear that the problem itself is not the adapters as much as it is a stupid choice in connector. You shouldn't use them, but not using them doesn't keep you safe.

I posted this one in the comment section... If those burn up as well, then only dual trash connectors as the HOF will help. What I have learned from this... Nvidia won't allow so high TBP with 5090. They will try avoid a new round with melt hell. Castrate cards is the closest fix they will offer.

That doesn't make any sense. Did you run DDU and reinstall the drivers to see if that will help? What does the 3DMark validation information show you as the reason?

The validation button comes up instead of the "compare results online" button. I click the validate button and it does nothing. I saved the results, and restarted 3dmark, and it does the same thing. I'll try rebooting next. 🤷‍♂️

I love this freaking vbios. It's boosting to almost 3.2ghz, and running 2800mhz on the memory. Firestrike extreme score of 41k. Timespy was just over 30k

Edit. Flashed the recommended 900W vbios

Screenshot-267.png

@Mr. Foxwant to see one of the most stupid ideas I have ever seen? Flash to LN2 900W vbios. If you try the "valueble gods saviour" Safe mode button (see pict below) on the backside of the card it will wipe out everything that smells XOC vbios. You are then stuck with the lame half catrated vbios from Asus. Why not only wipe the vbios to stock settings and not wipe out the whole vbios? It seems everytime you touching that Safe Mode button you are forced to do a new vbios flash. Isn't that great engineering?

See vbios I flashed a couple of days before then compare what I get back after using the idiotic ASSus Safe Mode button. And for the records.... I have tested several so called Asus GPU Tweak II software meant for this card.... Now I can't even see or use voltage adjustment. But no problem use it with my Zotac card. And I mean I have tested 7 or 8 versions. Same outcome. Zero. Isn't it cute... You get mem and pex voltage. But nothing for the GPU voltage. Tested also with this version. Still no change.

STUPID

STUPID.jpg

And the fans live their own life. Sometimes they both spin full speed after maxing out the manual fan speeed control. Then back to off for one of the two fans. Randomly.

And as you can see... Asus play god with fans setting in almost every new Asus GPU software version... Perverse?

https://www.asus.com/supportonly/gputweak ii/helpdesk_download/

I have never seen something messed up like this Asus flagship graphics card... NEVER!

Edit:

I'm quite feed up with this stupidity and trashy flagship GPU from Asus. HOF, Lightning and Kingpin all they over this junk from Asus.

Pretty looking/good design isn't the same as awesome or great. But we both know that.

I had that happen with 3DMark not too long ago and the only way I could fix it was to DDU and reinstall the drivers and then uninstall and reinstall 3DMark. I think that UL is doing some silly nonsense behind the scenes right now with validation because of the stupid crap they are obsessed with in terms of being overly-worried about 4090 scores with ECC disabled.

Hopefully the next AMD GPUs will have GDDR6x or GDDR7. Sticking with GDDR6 really held back 7900 XTX.

Rebooting did nothing, won't validate the saved scores. I guess I'll have to DDU, and reinstall drivers, or I wonder if the server is down. Smh

Please try validate the score/result from the submit button in the settings page in your UL/Futuremark account. Some with such problems could fix it this way.

managed to get rid of my rax 53 router. 170 on a gift card. trying too unload all my laptops. want to get at least 50 percent of their value. not sure if I should setup paypal and a ebay account but I might just do that. anyone of you gentlemen have any experience selling on ebay? pointers?

I heard about the new gpus having a m.2 ssd as upgradable vram, but I honestly dont see the point when the cards have plenty on board with games only needing 20gb max at 4k

Somewhat wrong. The added M.2 slot in some GPUs is for storage because nvidia was so kind cripple the bandwith for lower end GPU's. Aka they can't run at full PCIe speed. So rather let the added M2 ssd get the remaining PCIe lines.

Stupid is the new normal. We used to have pity for people that were extremely stupid. Now there are national holidays to celebrate their stupidity. We need one for the tech ignoramuses. What makes no sense is there are no holidays to celebrate being normal,  or being better than average. I thought everyone was supposed to get a trophy for participation. Apparently not. Only if you're messed up.

1st but an offline result, bummer

9th with desktops

i scored higher once but with artifacts a few times

alot of times people score higher but they are getting artifacts, so if your 30 or so you could technically be number one as far as high score and stable go.
