Senate probe accuses Big Tech of misleading public on AI data centers — massive 100 MW sites create only 100 jobs while securing lucrative GPU tax breaks Oh they most certainly will except as much pricier AI cards. 5090 resell values will be directly tied to the pricing of GB202 formerly 5090 die cards so they will plateau around $6k-$7k unless prices continue to rise for the AI 5090 aka RTX 5500 which is estimated to cost ~$9200 with 84GB of memory but I suspect it will go for more and rise quickly and 5090s could eventually hit ~$8k. Eventually 5090s even on the second hand market will evaporate as they are snatched up for AI. If they start to resell for $7k+ by next year, there is a very strong chance I will let mine go but we will see in the moment. Either way, the 5080 GB203 is fully tapped out so the only way to see a true xx80TI card would have to be an even more cut down GB202 but with the way AI is snatching up everything, that ~15k core count card would probably be paired with 64GB of memory and sold as yet another AI product at this rate. Ironically, it is the limitations of the grid that could be one of the factors that slows down the onslaught of AI. It will hit a wall either through lack of buildout resources, debt fatigue, failure on ROI or all of thee above. 9 hours ago, Mr. Fox said: Looks like overclock.net forum moderators caught a scammer using a deceptively similar forum name with an extra "i" at the end (hAnSkii) and banned him. I suspect they did it because the GB203 in the 5080 is full fat and to offer a 5080 Super in the future could only be a power bump so they went ultra conservative with its power profile. It's crazy how badly the Green Goblin has gimped the performance of 5080. (Probably to make the gap between 5080 and 5090 as large as possible.) Yes I believe it has all Extreme features. But the new "Extend limits using BIOS override" lets you essentially take any 5090 vBIOS and modify it's limits. Essentially letting you XOC any vBIOS file. It then simply does a driver restart to apply those new limits and they stick even after reboot, so set it and forget it. I guess it was some backdoor Nvidia put in to allow for OEMs to test hardware without needing to flash? AI has lead to insane advancements lately. Hard to keep up with all the changes. On a side note, I have offers to buy my 5090 D HOF XOC for $6000 locally. Maybe see if you can chisel another $200-$300 out of the deal, given how insane 5090 prices are. Here's why: The 5090 has been declared to have an immature EOL due to the immeasurable dishonestly of the ghouls at NVIDIA. If something happens to your 5090 the OEM will likely do something crazy bad underhanded and dishonest rather than repairing it, paying you curent fair market replacement value, or replacing it at no cost. Up to and including finding a lameass reason to deny warranty. That is how almost all of them roll now with EVGA no longer keeping the industry honest. The PC part OEMs have never been so dishonest and crooked as they are now. Buy two 5080s and pocket at least $2,000 difference. A 5080 will never come close to 5090, but if we are honest about what we "need" it doesn't need to. Even a 5070 Ti or 9070 XT will do in a pinch. 5080 is more than enough for gaming. 5090 is the weapon of mass destruction we all love and want, but given the chances of a sketchy future get out while you still can and make a buttload of money off the sale. Don't consider it scalping because with the 5090 now being EOL it is going to be a collector's item only for idiots with more money than common sense. Anyone that gives push-back on the price being too high should be wished good luck finding a functional 5090 priced anywhere near the original intended retail price before AI made the world stupid, and then remind them that it is now officially a collector's novelty item with no ceiling on what a moron will pay for it. No different than a vintage muscle car that now sells for 20 to 100 times what it orginally sold for new. It's worth as much as an idiot that can't live without it is willing to pay. Use of common sense, intelligence and value are no longer playable cards for 5090 shoppers. If is seems kind of like I am hoarding hardware now, it is because I am. I am considering it, but then I'd be left without a 5090 and only a 5070 Ti and 5070 Prime on hand. Personally, I think prices are going to go higher. 5090s will now dry up everywhere and be hoarded for personal use or those who reach a, "I can't say no," offer will sell theirs off for what will most likely be AI deployment either domestic or abroad. Locally, there are a few buyers openly offering $5500 cash for any and all 5090s. They will come to you, test your card, hand you a fat stack and carry on. When they say, "Any brand, as long as it is working we pay $5500," you have a pretty good idea of where those cards are going.... Pricing will be fractionally in sync with the RTX 5500 and as eventually GB202 5090 dies are limited, even the RTX 5500 will go up in price along with the 5090s still out there. Basically, as long as purchasing and converting a 5090 into an AI card makes financial sense / profitable, pricing will continue to trend upward. Luckily, I have this sub $1k 5080 and 2x 9070xt (one being in the wife's system) cards so if the right offer suddenly appeared, I can't see myself turning down $7k but not till next year at the earliest and probably summertime at that. 2 hours ago, Mr. Fox said: I love my 5090 but if I were in your shoes I would do it. You also have to think that this EOL is fresh and brand new and whatever stock is out there is going to evaporate quickly and then the second hand market turns into a resource strapped buy/sell with prices trending up. Like I said above, I'm still holding onto mine for a few reasons and one of them being I expect prices to trend up a bit more before leveling off in relation to the RTX 5500 pricing. I'm still playing on the 9850X3D + 5080 config atm as I've been too busy/lazy to break down the current test setups and start the transition to final boss form. The performance hit is real in WoW. I'm not used to seeing full utilization and sitting under 100fps quite often but for the right $$$ I could live with it but it has to be a price point that is high enough to override going years with a significant and noticeable performance drop. $6k which would be a $4k profit won't make or break me in any which way, shape or form and I don't need the money, so is it worth the loss of superior performance for the next year+? I still get aggravated when buyers get salty over pricing. I've come to realize they fully understand current market conditions. They are just hoping to sob story / brow beat you into giving them yesteryear level pricing.... 1 1 Electrosoft Alpha: 9800X3D | Asus X870E Crosshair Hero | MSI Vanguard RTX 5090 OC | AC LF II 420 | TG 2x24GB 8200 @ 8000 tuned | Samsung 9100 Pro 2TB | MSI MEG AI1600T 1600W PSU | Phanteks Ethroo Pro | Asus XG32UQDMS 32" QD-OLED Electrosoft Omega: Ultra 7 270k | Asus Z890 Strix-A | Powercolor 9070xt Red Devil | Asus Prime LC 360 | KB 2x24GB 8400 @ 8600 | EVGA P2 850w PSU | Hyte Y60 Currently on test bed: 9850X3D Delidded w/ TG HS | Asus X870E Crosshair Dark Hero | Corsair Vengeance 9200 2x24GB Heath: i9-14900KS SP109 | AC LF III 360 | Asus Strix Z690 D4 | Gigabyte 9070XT Gaming OC Edition| 32GB DDR4 2x16GB B-Die 4000 | Samsung 980 1TB Pro | Seasonic Focus GX850 850w | Antec Flux Pro | Alienware AW3225QF 32" OLED MY EBAY STORE

No more need to disable secure boot or mess with drivers. You load your vBIOS file, set the limits you want, and hit restart driver and boom unlocked vBIOS power limits/current/memory offsets with any vBIOS file. It also survives reboot and then you can use MSI Afterburner for overlay, etc. 10 hours ago, Mr. Fox said: SO it has all of the features of mvolt+ extreme plus the vBIOS features? Nice. Will have to check it out. mvolt+ extreme has been awesome because I have been able to run both of my 5080's with a 1000W power limit, and both GPUs use it all. It's crazy how badly the Green Goblin has gimped the performance of 5080. (Probably to make the gap between 5080 and 5090 as large as possible.) 8 hours ago, Talon said: Yes I believe it has all Extreme features. Yes, I just tested with my water cooled 5080 and confirmed it works 100%. This needs to be on the chiller to avoid overheating, but even with the insane thermals without the chiller and thermal throttling it came within striking distance of my Speedway high score. 2 1 WRAITH | Z890 APEX | 270K PLUS | RTX 5090 | 48GB DDR5 @ 8800 | LIAN LI O11D XL EVO | HC-500A CHILLER REAPER | Z890 APEX | 270K PLUS | RTX 5080 | 48GB DDR5 @ 8800 | LIAN LI O11D MINI V2 RAPTOR | Z890 UNIFY-X | 270K PLUS | RTX 5080 | 48GB DDR5 @ 8400 | OPEN BENCH BANSHEE | B850MPOWER | 4585PX | RTX 3070 | 32GB DDR5 @ 6200 | LIAN LI A3 Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT

I would not be surprised to see it for $1499.99 moving forward... Get ready for the 6080 24GB as our new "flagship", no 6090 and needing to spend blackwell pro levels of $$$ for what would have been 6090 performance bump but Nvidia putting all gaming "gains" behind DLSS and FG.... "According to a notification from the factory, Nvidia will no longer manufacture any RTX 5090 models, including the D variants," a message cited by @hongxing2020 reads. "Going forward, the highest-end GeForce graphics card will be the RTX 5080 24GB, while the RTX 5080 16GB version will be discontinued. Please spread the word." With the rumors showing AMD bringing the heat next gen, I have no problems moving back to AMD for, oh what would it be now, the 5th time over the last 10+ generational leaps since 2000? Pretty disgusting if this pans out.... New eventual product stack at this rate till 2028: 5080 24gb 5070ti 16gb 5070 12gb 5060ti 8gb 5060 8gb 5050 8gb Holy crap.. So that’s why the price shot up. I guess word got out about EOL. So maybe xx90 is gone forever and xx80 will be king again. I suppose it doesn’t hurt for 5090 owners right now. And maybe in the next gen, we will have a viable xx80 or xx80Ti that’s actually fast! This may be a good thing in a few years. AI has gotten ridiculous. And they are gobbling the 5090, so maybe they’ll be uninterested in 5080 or 6080 or 7080. Makes sense though, they want to sell more fresh releases RTX Pro 5500’s for MORE MONEY! And they need those 5090 cores! 💀 1 1 1 13900KF
electrosoft Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I've been running the 9070xt and then the 5080 for over a week now as I slowly test and certified the Dark Hero "ready for deployment," and moved it into the Phanteks so I've kind of got used to playing WoW and Fallout on the Dark Hero with the 9850X3D running at 5600+ with the Corsair Vengeance 9200 sticks tuned to 8000. The overall setup is basically a tighter, slightly faster refinement over my Hero + 9800X3D + TG 8200 sticks on all levels. I do like how the Dark Hero drops the primary GPU slot down another notch. It really centers the GPU in a nice way depending on case or gets it even closer to bottom fans for stronger air flow which will be the case when all this moves into the H9 Flow Then I slapped the 5090 back in there yesterday and was quickly brought back to reality just how much better it is overall in every way.... I'm also running the Lian Li 360 Lite now after having run the Noctua 420 for several days. The Lian Li actually fits up top on the Phanteks and after adjusting the pump curve (same as I had to do with Noctua) it is running just as quiet. Fans aren't as quiet but quiet enough. Continued testing back and forth and the Lian Li runs just as cool as the Noctua and both trounce all my other AIOs so I'm going to send back the Noctua as it isn't worth the $300 vs the $85 Lian Li with AM5 at least. I do need to set up an RMA with Asus to replace my x870e Hero due to the flickering/dying RGB logo panel. Doesn't affect the board at all, but for resell it will put a dent in its value for those who care. 19 months of solid service handling 8000+ like a boss.... ----------------------------- 12 hours ago, tps3443 said: Holy crap.. And they need those 5090 cores! 💀 Yeah, the sudden lack of 5090s on the shelf and price spike followed by the leak from a factory. Classic Jensen. Trust me, Jensen will continue to pillage the consumer sector to feed the AI segment as the GB203 full fat die is already used in the RTX 4500 with 32GB of memory. If that card was in greater demand on the level of GB202 cards, Jensen would have no problems gobbling up those dies. If Nvidia suddenly introduced let's say a RTX 4600 with the GB203 and 64GB of memory for $7500 and it became a smash hit being sucked up like the 090 / 6000 cards, 5080s would suddenly shoot to 2000+ to start if not more and stock would start to dwindle fast. ------------------------------------ 5080 24gb rumored for January as 5080 is discontinued and the 5090 goes through an "allocation change" vs a flat out discontinuation which makes sense in case the AI bubble collapses they can just go, "Hey AIBs! Look! GB202's are back!! Hopefully AI will make AI as a commodity a losing financial proposition and all of these clowns will end up broke and scrambling to keep the lights on. They're angling now to take away our hardware to make us all dependent rather than independent. That's probably one of the reasons 5090 is grossly overpriced and being taken away from consumers. If they don't stop it, open source will destroy their tech monopolies. I hope they fail and it ends badly for them all. 1 WRAITH | Z890 APEX | 270K PLUS | RTX 5090 | 48GB DDR5 @ 8800 | LIAN LI O11D XL EVO | HC-500A CHILLER REAPER | Z890 APEX | 270K PLUS | RTX 5080 | 48GB DDR5 @ 8800 | LIAN LI O11D MINI V2 RAPTOR | Z890 UNIFY-X | 270K PLUS | RTX 5080 | 48GB DDR5 @ 8400 | OPEN BENCH BANSHEE | B850MPOWER | 4585PX | RTX 3070 | 32GB DDR5 @ 6200 | LIAN LI A3 Mr. Fox YouTube Channel | Mr. Fox @ HWBOT
Mr. Fox Posted 38 minutes ago Author Posted 38 minutes ago Hmm. I got to looking at what that first video mentioned about REA and found some free clones of PhotoShop, Acrobat and Premier created using AI. Interesting. https://getartcraft.com/apps I am testing them and they seem pretty good. PhotoCraft seems to function the same as PhotoShop without the learning curve of Gimp or Krita. Available for Windows and Linux, installer or portable.
