aww why are u joking? DO IT 😄

when at first i got my TX1600 ATX2.4 version I was wondering to myself if i should later upgrade to the ATX3.1 version. i am sooo glad that i didnt.  all 8pin goodness on the PSU side, enough wattage for two 12v2x6 connectors, super quiet and efficient and 12 years (or rather 10 left) of warranty. will not need another psu for a long time!

i have a wattmeter permanently hooked up to my rig and the highest ive seen thus far was 1125W or 70% of stock psu capacity. i think ill be good even with a 5090 and a 9950X3D in there 🙂

Yeah I ended up sticking with my 1600w P2 EVGA PSU. Just a workhorse and 4 GPUs in a row with no coil whine. I have no problems running the tentacles at all for my cards and the PSU itself is crazy quiet.

The MSI AI1300P 1300W PSU is in my test rig that I was originally going to switch to but I'm good. Couldn't pass up that open box $142  from MSI open box warehouse special!

I also have an EVGA P2 850W  and G2 850W on the shelf.

Wife is still running Seasonic Focus 1000w.

NVIDIA and AMD need to start building everything in the US. Our industries are falling in line and going according to plan. Would LOVE to see that happen to the China manufacturer scum.

Maybe we will see something in +2030.

Hall OF Fame is back. But with D dubbed cards for China. Mr Jensen know how to go around the US sanctions. And he will make sure he get chips for the Global market at lowest costs. New chips production in US will cost a hell lot more than from Asia. So forget getting cheaper chips/graphics cards. And China... They will continue get western made tech. In one or another way. This won't stop them. The China market is far too important for Western technology companies. Greed knows no borders. And corruption into this greedy mix is an disease you can't cure

And disgusting Russia, they do as China can best... Russia sees tech boom amid sanctions

you pay extra for the better cooling and bling bling... $500+ extra for the mentioned above MSRP is disgusting.

Id be running that MSI 1300w over the EVGA 1600w any day, smaller and could probably pull down the same juice without breaking a sweat. That’s just my opinion. My MSI 1KW with the single 2x6 Gen 5.1 connector has been one of the best PSU’s I’ve ever owned, the fact that it has been powering a w3175X/Doninus Extreme/ 192GB DDR4/ 5 pumps/ RTX 4090 with 666w bios Is a miracle. This is a system with 2x24 pins meant for (2) power supplies. It has always stayed silent and never batted an eye to this system, it’s a much smaller unit than I’d typically run but that just goes to show how good the unit has been. Just my system ram consumes 120 watts under heavy loads 🤣  Both my EVGA power supplies were noisy and sub par. Maybe the 1600w models were built to different standards. But my EVGA models also had that big fat C19 style power plug too. I’m still using one of them in my son’s build but even with his RTX 3060/12900KS we hear the coil whine sometimes. Lately the random power offs have been occurring and I’m worried this 2nd EVGA unit is on its way out. I’ve never owned a EVGA 1600w, so I cannot speak on those units. Maybe they are good.

My white Lian Li 1200w Edge Gold will be here tomorrow, I hope it’s as good or better than the MSI PSU. 😁

If it ain't broke......

This P2 1600w has given me zero problems, and while correlation is not causation, every GPU I've tossed up against it has had low to zero coil whine and the PSU itself is dead quiet and runs crazy cool.

I like the MSI, but there is no compelling reason to swap out especially since I only run tentacles because I don't care about aesthetics which is really the only reason NOT to use the included tentacles with your given card. It also gives you a layer of protection if the card catches fire. It is their included tentacle with their card not a 3rd party excuse.

Really, zero reason to switch over. A solution looking for a problem. 🙂
