Rascard
Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum, I just replaced the motherboard of my alien (the old one made the famous 8 beeps of death). Basically with the new motherboard the alien FX doesn't work anymore, whatever operating system you install doesn't change anything. I have the latest bios available for my laptop and have tried reinstalling the command center several times. Does anyone know what I can do? Maxware79
8 beeps is usually a GPU or LCD problem, it's the 7 beeps that you definitely don't want to get. Any beep code error can be motherboard related though I'm currently having a similar issue with an M17x R3 that I'm working on. I've tried all the fixes but nothing has worked so I'm assuming the AlienFX chip is toast on mine, hopefully yours is something simple though. Make sure that you have Microsoft .net framework 3.5 and Visual C++ 2010 installed before trying to install AWCC. Is it AWCC 2.8.8.0 you're trying to install? Rascard
Hello! Thank you for your reply. So I do not remember exactly how many beeps ago the old motherboard but I showed it by several technicians who told me that it was to be replaced. As for yes, I have version 2.8.8.0 of awcc, net framework installed and visual c++ ditto, I do not know what else to try, I'm afraid I have your same problem
Rascard
small update (I do not know if it is useful), I tried to do the test of the command center and I noticed that it does not see neither the software version nor the card
sliderfra
Hi mate. With New MB check you have a correct service tag set. If ST is bad, alienfx won't work

sliderfra
You can always change it afterwards by performing a bios backup then edit the bios with hex editor then reflash with fpt
