I know.  I ordered the water heatsink and its accessories from there (fittings, screws, pipes, etc.), the only problem I have with it is that it is not worth ordering the 2 fans, because the shipping fee is much more than the price of the product.  So it's all overpayment!😔

Can anyone possibly get the silver spring-loaded locking screw shown in the picture?  This is the retaining screw of the GPU part (4 pieces) of the water cooler.  Parcel Up Support was unable to help.  (I bought the water heatsink through him) I tried with the AliExpress seller, but he wanted to ask a horrible price for a couple of retaining screws! Joke!

Not unless you can find a vapor chamber the same thickness as the part of the IHS that makes contact with the CPU die. I remember someone on the old NBR forums toying with the idea of doing something like that with their P870TM.

yeah I thought I also recalled some discussions in the old forum. Pity but predictable, thanks.

 

Is there also a some kind of support list for ram for x170s? with its super delciate xmp support. Mine can struggle to post sometimes or posts very slowly after i changed my cpu to a 10900k

I don't know that there is a separate RAM compatibility list.

There isn't one that I know of, but I do know that Crucial specifically listed the kit I bought as being compatible with this model laptop, which is why I got the kit. My Crucial Ballistix 2x 16 GB 3200 MHz CL16 kit was explicitly stated as being compatible with the X170SM-G on Crucial's website. Some vendors have a laptop compatibility list, so you may want to check for that.

lucky me, we got the same identical kit :) xmp 1 profile here, and the slow post issue might've been something else like an undervolt, bios reset and it's working great

Morning boys! How is everyone doing?

i have managed to fix the bios to have support for the 3080 to install nativly.

 

no gsync 

No +15boost

no sleep issues

no external display issues

nvidia driver installs automatically 

 

my bios is prema i cant be sharing this. But i can share to you the regular clevo bios of it.

Now the only thing missing is 11900K support for the X170SM-G🤪

I transferred the PCSpecialus (UK) version Clevo X170SM-G machine to the RTX 2080 Super card (as a test) and I knew for sure that everything would be fine, because the Prema Team created the BIOS for the RTX 20xx version and it has nothing to do with the RTX 30xx version! 100% compatible BIOS for RTX 20xx version GPU.

 

I think this Prema BIOS is perfect with an RTX 2080 Super card and the display has G-Sync and all functions work properly.

 

 

There is G-Sync on both the laptop display and the OLED TV and it works properly, there are no image problems, no blue screen or automatic restart. Using it with a TV is important to me! Unfortunately, the RTX 3080 does not know this because it is officially made for the X170KM-G model and the incompatibility is quite large with the X170SM-G model!

SATA only

 

3 SSD array: 

the lower slot: NVME only

the other two: NVME/SATA

 

I have used Sata SSDs up to 4TB and NVME up to 8TB in it

Then I know that the separate part can only be Sata and the rest PCIe/nVME.  I wonder if it also accepts the PCIe 4.0 card?

I bought an i9-10900KF processor and after the first test the temperature was 100c...with a water cooling system. I thought I'd send it to a delid/relid specialist and he did it, it arrived back today and it's even better.
There was more Score than there was with K-s i9.

Form 100C to 79C is pretty crazy! You must have had huge intra-core differences before the delid/relid!

Anyone here know the wattage of the 2070 Supers that shipped in these laptops? I am using one in my P870TM and can only get it to pull 115 watts... Something in my mind said 150w like the 2080 non-super, but I could be wrong.

If the power limit is really 115, is there a tool to up said power limit?

Acording to Techpowerup it is flagged as a 115W card.
