Absolute Meltdown Underway at LMG/LTT

Gumwars

Recommended Posts

Apple, Google and Microsoft point out exploits in each others products on the daily, its unfortunate that the minute a face is attached it becomes pitchforks, conspiracies and gross displays of tribalism.

Hopefully the output levels of LMG either lessen or they hire additional staff to maintain the output they had along with having improved accuracy on their content.

This former gent from Anand goes much (MUCH) more indepth and while taking LMG and Linus to task also takes GN and Steve to task from a perspective I never contemplated...it is long and wordy so settle in and make sure to have plenty of caffeine (and sleep) in your system.

If you want to see someone more succinctly take both LMG and GN to task, this video was rather hard-hitting.

I disagree because GN are getting called out for being hypocrites and it kinda backfired on them. They should of just focus of what they're doing and make improvements in their own company to be better instead worrying about what others are doing and just do you.

This is what we call a win/win.

GN calls out LMG which really needed to be done and they'll be better for it.

GN then gets called out for their issues too and "Tech Jesus" (or whatever they call him) gets a checksum of his own.

i disagree completely. if you go by that logic, nobody should ever be called out or held responsible for anything, because everyone has done mistakes in their lifes, be it professionally or on a personal level. everyone is sitting in a glass house, but if nobody is throwing stones then we might as well just ignore society and laws as a whole 😛

word. although id still say that GN has very VERY high standards and so far I haven't seen or heard anything (proven, that is) that would lead me to believe theyve done any wrong by the consumers. worst i could barely agree with is a tad of personal bias by Steve, which naturally comes after being disappointed and jaded for so long by players in the industry f*cking things up. and thats definitely understandable.

i mean seriously, aside from GN, HUB and Dr. Ian Cutress, who else would come close to objective deep-dives on tech? not saying theyre perfect, but theyre damn well close and always striving to do a better job than the day before. cant ask for more than that.

"it could have been timed better"

LTT: No you can't!

GN: Guess we CAAAANNNNNTTTTT!!!!!!!!  🤣

GN (Steve) knew exactly what they were doing releasing it so soon to LTT's video. It appears to have backfired on many levels.

IMHO, GN should have just released their initial video addressing LTT's deficiencies and then went right back to their normal content.

Steve had basically issued their own version of LTTs "Here's the Plan" video which was a mix of very VERY indepth policy and testing structures (along with future plans) but it was a tad tone deaf and moreso terrible timing.

I said it before and I'll say it again. GN should have just dropped that first analysis of LTTs testing methodology along with the prototype shenanigans and left it at that.

Thats fair, GN tends to do that sort of thing periodically. Dont know about the tone deaf portion since I didnt see it but the timing is definitely bad since it would be seen as an additional swipe at LTT (regardless if true or not). Its fine in my book to criticize, but if the party in question has accepted it, spent time on reflection, and is re-entering the market then you need to allow them to get up.

If you want to see someone more succinctly take both LMG and GN to task, this video was rather hard-hitting.

Sounds like a whiny AMD fan to me.  Could only watch a few mins of him crying about Linus with intel/Nvidia equipment.

welp, to be fair, GN's follow up on the initial Linus response on the LTT forum was just part of a HW news update video, not even a full separate vid. plus Steve said he wont be saying anything more about that topic after that. so its not like GN blew it completely / endlessly out of proportions haha
