That said, no matter how many changes Microsoft makes, if we compare Windows 11 to Windows 10, there's no contest. Windows 10 is significantly faster and, in fact , loads Windows Explorer instantly.

 

Windows 11's File Explorer preloading feature is here: it doubles RAM usage and offers little speed advantage at idle, but the difference is more noticeable under load.
